My blackberry curve 8900 has stopped working. I have a red light come on but the screen wont switch on. I am getting a black screen with a empty battery and a red cross in it.
Ive tried leaving it on to charge and take out the battery but i still get the red cross battery symbol. Ive tried connecting it the pc to do a software up date but it says it cant communicate with my blackberry to be able to do it.
So basically I must have pressed Alt and Enter and the language options came up. I cleared that screen and now every time I go to type whether in an email, bbm, sms, or my browser I have a little EN box in the top right hand corner of my screen. And it's pretty darn annoying. How do I get rid of this? I've tried doing a battery pull, connecting my phone to my desktop manager on my laptop and unticking all the languages apart from UK English. And yet it is STILL there. It is driving me quite insane

I always took the back of the phone off too so that it wasn't coming through 2 little holes through the top. Is the sound quality and volume of the 8900 equal to or greater than the 8300 with its batter door off?

View 5 Replies View Relatedhi. had 8900 for few months on orange uk with data plan. have been using email, internet and windows live and blackberry messenger all fine using either wi fi or mobile now all of a sudden its stop working and i cant use none. when i try to connect to internet i get a msg say this is a wi fi service please ensure your device has a wi fi connection , bb messenger wont send mgs or receive windows live jus says this service is not enabled for this handheld. ive contacted orange but they havnt helped they did say it could be a update of facebook causing problem?. have tried removing battery and restoring removed service books etc nothings fixed. can anyone help plz?

However whenever I check for updates via the blackberry site the desktop manger pops up and does not offer this upgrade. All it says it 4.6.1 (current) and the rest are downgrades, so I'm not quite sure what I need to do to get the new OS to even appear, much less download it and work.

I have an iPhone 4s (Verizon). I had recently purchased what was described as an OEM screen plus LCD after I had cracked my factory screen. After replacing the screen and LCD such features as the side volume controls, vibrate switch, and proximity switch (dimming after accepting a call) have stopped working. I double checked to see that all of the connectors were pushed on correctly and they were. Is it possible this may not be an OEM screen and causing the problem or is there a piece of the hardware that I may have damaged that controls all of these functions (i.e. motherboard)?

So of course there's switch mode from work and "play". I have this issue where when I switch from one the theme changes and if I switch back the theme doesn't change. It was working fine and one day just went to a blank white screen so i did a battery pull still white screen. It was a gift so cant just send back to shop for repairs or replacment. After a couple of days of white screen i noticed it was off so i went to charge it but the red light did not come on and the phone would not turn on either.

And it showed it was charging. But when it rebooted it didn't completely switched on. I took off my battery for about 30minutes and rebooted again, but still it would not switch on. And it still does that today. My phone is ten months old.

I have had this one for a few weeks now and today I noticed that every time i click on app of any sort i get the timer for a few seconds before it comes on. I havent used up much memory but i thought i would delete some song files etc as I added some yesterday so i did but it was still going slow. I tried a battery remove and now my phone wont switch back on again. It gets the white loading bar but went it gets to the top it just sticks like that for about 15 minutes. Then it eventually goes to the T-mobile white screen but it wont go any further. I took the memory card out and did the same again but it hasnt helped and my phone still wont come on.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI purchased a Blackberry curve 8520 about 6 wks ago. It stopped working about 3 weeks after purchasing it.I sent it away to be fixed (purchased from Vodafone). They sent it back and said there was nothing they could find wrong with it. The same has just happened again. The screen remains blank & it is fully charged. I have tried taking out & putting the battery back in. Sometimes it just blinks an orange light a couple of times but screen remains blank. I don't want to send it away again to be fixed as all my details/downloads will be once again be wiped off while it is being fixed.
