Oct 1, 2011I post this thread to ask, my blackberry curve 8520 keep hang and i dont know what do with it. Everytime i drag those toolbar icons and menu it makes devastated.

Oct 6, 2012My device is a Curve 9330 running OS 6.0 Bundle 1659. This phone has worked great for several months. I noticed that the red 'hang up' key stopped working a few days ago. Around that time, I installed a few apps which have worked fine, except I noticed that one, the New York Time Crossword, did not show up on the menu. I could run the app fine from AppWorld. Today, I noticed that my messages icon is gone.

Do the same messages from the earth one (which I assume means email) go into the plain envelope one which I think means ALL messages including BB PIN Messages? And then to other texts show up in the plain one?

I have deleted it from the applications list and do not see it in the modules list but the icon still shows.I also have icons that have the "Hide" checked but are not really hidden. Mar 21, 2012It's like the toolbar at the top has somehow shifted over to the left on the homescreen and lockscreen of my phone.. taking away my clock, signal, etc... (see pictures below that I took) This only happened after I downloaded a software update last night.. called, iOS 5.1..?? I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. Whenever I open an app, it goes back to normal though..
I keep my phone in one of those super heavy duty otter box cases so it's not physically damaged or anything..might not be relevant but just throwing that out there!! =)
also.. on a side note, the option to open the camera from the lock screen is now on my phone, don't know how it got there.. did that come with the software update, and is it a setting you can choose whether or not to have on there?

Jul 3, 2012I have took th Blackberry just 4 days back and i am facing a problem already and it was my dream to buy the blackberry but after buying just after 4 days my cell hangs while recieving the call, only trackpad works and i cannot unlock the phone as well and i have to remove battery and restart the phone to make it work please suggest me what has to be done to make my phone to work properly do i have to take it servise centre or any suggestion which i can do to solvethis issue.... Blackberry is my dream phone and this bug has dissapointed me a lot just after 4 days after purchasing i am facing the issue.

Aug 24, 2010If anyone out there could lend me a helping hand with this. Well, im not a very heavy BB user but ive never had my batt go dead on me but it happened! i totally couldnt turn my phone on until i put in my charger.Then it happens randomly whereby my phone will heat up and the battery drops 5% every 10mins or so! until it shuts off!! It happened once right after i fully charged my phone and it shut off within the next hour.Anyone knows whats happening?? i suspected whether it was any of my installed apps that are draining my batt, so i shut off everything! i mean no msn no foursquare no twitter only emails are on but yet it still happens!!Help please? i hope its just the batt thats screwed not my phone.

Aug 11, 2010I have an ATT 8520 Curve unlocked to work with a tmobile sim card and have a few questions...Now that's unlocked I cant setup an external email account (hotmail, gmail, etc...) that icon is missing from the setup section. how can I get that feature? can I also use the bbm feature? I added a friend (and vice-versa) but it just stays as pending. is it possible to bbm? for the above 2 do i need to get the bb data plan so they can work? I've read elsewhere that the best way to get the features would be to load the tmobile handheld software. I went to tmobiles site, I enter my ph# - select the 8520 - click on handheld and it takes me to their 'shop for phones' page. I guess they now by the number that i dont currently have a bb. So I tried a friends ph# from tmobile who has a bb and it still took me to the 'shop for phones' page. So I Am hoping it's just a link glitch going on right now. I did download from this forum the 5.0 OS "8520wifiM_PBr5.0.0_rel860_PL5.2.0.47_A5.0.0.509_W ind_Hellas.exe" which obviously is not tmobile. What would loading this different OS allow me to do? Or what features will I have available? and I have lowercase 'edge'.

We now have official word from RIM via press release today that unless you have a 9650, 9700, or Pearl3G you have to buy a new phone to get OS 6:"Subject to carrier certifications in the months ahead, the new OS is expected to be available for the BlackBerry® Bold™ 9700, BlackBerry® Bold™ 9650 and BlackBerry® Pearl™ 3G, as well as future BlackBerry smartphones."
That being said, are you going to be dumping your 8520/30 for something new just to get OS6?
BB Curve 8520/8530 :: 8520 Phone Speaker Breaking Up
Jul 5, 2010got a 8520 a couple of months ago, and after two weeks the phone speaker would break up when making a call, so you could only hear 1 in 3 words someone was saying, and inbetween was silence.T-mobile sent me a new one out next day, but now after 4 months the new one has started doing it.Can make calls fine with ear piece, speakerphone is working for playing music, haven't tried it for calls, and handset speaker works fine for music too, but breaks up when phoning anyoneThe second time it happened was just after okaying an upgrade. Anyone heard of this before?

Apr 19, 2010My 8520 was working fine last night but the battery was down to 10% charge.
Charged the battery up and phone worked fine and I turned it off before going to bed.
The phone turned on fine this morning and was showing a full charge. I did turn it off when I got to work and when I went to turn it back on when I went to lunch I got nothing. The LED glows briefly and faintly when I try to power the phone on.
I tried hooking to my car charger but with the same results.
