I have a message notification on my phone tool bar that won't go away. I have no unread e-mails, or texts, nor missed calls. I've tried to reboot, taking the battery out etc, The message indicator remains and I can't clear it....

However, I need to figure out how could I transfer all my data.The blackberry desk manager never did work on my old phone witch. After plugging in the new phone on my PC it asked if I wanted to transfer my data... So I did.I realized that when I was receiving text messages they were looking more like email icons. I tried to look up in my options and I can't find anything.

The vibration mode works fine for me (both call and message notifications vibrate only), but sound notification for text messages when I am in the middle of something. It's like the toolbar at the top has somehow shifted over to the left on the homescreen and lockscreen of my phone.. taking away my clock, signal, etc... (see pictures below that I took) This only happened after I downloaded a software update last night.. called, iOS 5.1..?? I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. Whenever I open an app, it goes back to normal though..
I keep my phone in one of those super heavy duty otter box cases so it's not physically damaged or anything..might not be relevant but just throwing that out there!! =)
also.. on a side note, the option to open the camera from the lock screen is now on my phone, don't know how it got there.. did that come with the software update, and is it a setting you can choose whether or not to have on there?

Today the LED notification doesn't light up when I receive a message and the screen is locked. I have checked though the service menu that the LED works, and I'm running gingerbread 2.3.4 so the new ICS update shouldn't be the problem. Also the screen doesn't light up when locked and receiving a message but I don't know if it's supposed to do that?

Also, can you have a quieter text message volume but keeping the ringer high? I want to hear my phone at work, but don't need to be blasted with a text message notification ever time I recieve one.
OK my ringtones are fine when a call is incoming but message notifications are pathetic. The volume is about 40% the preview (I know it's linked to media volume) but even on max the message notification is really weak, there's no x-loud for us to boost the speakers and all other settings do nothing for volume.

-I have tried both mp3 and wav formats
-Placed them in the root directory of my microSD card and the windows folder on my phone itself.
-I don't have a visible application datasounds folder on my microSD card, which is the only other location I have read that I should put them in. (I have tried to show hidden files)
The problem is I cannot get any of the files to show up to select them in Message Settings > Notifications > New Text Message > Example.mp3
How to delete the BB msg. notification envelope on my BB9670 Style. When I click on it ..I get a "You have NO NEW notifications". I called BB and there rep told me to hook it up to my laptop w/the BB desktop software and do a total backup then a resatart or whatever... All that did was screw up my laptop and that little envelope is still there. It's like a cockroach its survives evrything. I don't even use BB messenger or email . I have a gmail account.

Just as it was a millisecond from turning off, I received a text.
When it turned back on, I saw the text's body in the notification center, but there was no sender identification.
When I open the Messages app icon, there's no message, and the notification WON'T GO AWAY.Â
I've asked someone to text me again, there was a notification for 2 messages unread instead of one, but when I opened it and read their text, it went back to 1 and it still won't disappear. Furthermore, I've hard reset my iPhone once more, turned it off and back one, and tried syncing it with my computer, all futile attempts to solve my problem.Â
I guess it's worth mentioning that I cleared the message from my notification center.
The shortcut notification image at the bottom of the screen for my e71 has disappeared and each time I get a new message it doesn't show up anymore. I have to manually go to the messages at the top of the screen and then go to inbox to see the new message when before I could just click the little shortcut that popped up at the bottom of the home screen which would lead me straight to the new image. I've tried restoring the factory settings on my phone and it didn't set it back to the way it used to be. I'm lost on what to do in order to get it back.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently switched to T-Mobile from Verizon and got the Nokia 5230 aka Nokia Nuron. After the first week my phone stopped alerting me when i received text messages. First the alert tone stopped.than the pop new text message stopped and than the little envelope that appears in the right hand corner stopped.Basically I'd be going to my inbox every 5 mins to see if i had any new messages. I called Nokia support and after trying everything else, we ended up reseting the whole phone.That worked...for about 3 days.Than the problem came back.So i called again,tried everything again and nothing. They sent me a new phone and its been doing fine up until yesterday.

On my old phone the notification alram would repeat after 15 minutes of so until I had read my unread messages and ackowledged my notifications. This was really useful as I work in a noisy envirmonment. Can you do this on the Mini or do you have to keep looking at the phone to see if you have anything new - very sad. Also can you get a view only of new messages as currently I can see all including drafts so its tricky to know whats actually new incoming.
