every now and then my credit keeps going down. i top up wiv £10 use £5 to pay for bbm and internet, then i check my credit and it says it has £5.03 left. the next day when i check my credit it has gone down by 50p - £4 . what shall i do?
View 7 RepliesI've been experiencing this problem for the past 3 days and went to my provider today to ask about.My phone has been running extremely slow, the hour clock thing is forever running, and as a result my phone dies in about 3 to 4 hours with no real use. I was told it was because i need to update my OS but when I came home and plugged it in it says that my phone is up-to-date and there is no OS upgrade available. i bought a replacement battery to see if that was the problem and it is not. this is becoming quite frustrating. it has even gotten to the point of when i lock the phone i cant unlock it over even get the screen to turn on. the only way to turn it on is to pull the battery out
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently bought my Blackberry 8520 pay as you go with T Mobile.I topped up 10£ to start off with in order to register my personal email, which worked fine.T-Mobile offers price boosters which enable you to go on the internet and use apps email etc unlimited for a certain period of time.However a while ago, after I updated my phone via desktop manager I suddenly saw that my email account on blackberry was no longer registered. And I could only register enterprise email. For some reason I then wiped completely my handset. But other than deleting everything it didnt help solve my email and app problem which were no longer in my phone.Question is, does blackberry disable to use your apps and email once youre out of credit & booster is ended? Even though I'm connected to wifi at home.Also gprs is no longer GPRS in capital letters but in small letters now.

My battery life had improved a little but...Even when the screen is off and I'm not using the phone, Phone Idle takes up most of the energy while in that state. Last night Phone Idle was on 6:51:43 while the phone was off of the battery for 7:53:53.On top of this, the phone is awake almost all night. It does drain only a little bit at night.During use Phone Idle still is on much of the time. My phone drains rapidly when the screen is on.The phone has signal all day and night. I'm in a good coverage area.My questions are: Is it normal for the phone to be awake when not in use for most of the time when not in use? Should Phone Idle be on most of the time when the phone has consistent good signal?

first thing is, i looked at 3G watchdog thismorning, and my device had been eating 200 MB's of internet WHILE I WAS SLEEPING this is not normal use and i have no clue what caused it (i installed 3g watchdog pro this morning)
second thing is, my android system process seems to be eating away battery life rapidly, its using up to 40% cpu (according to watchdog) and com.htc.bg is using roughly 20% okay, i just saw something happening, i restored a backup, watched my cpu, and then my virus scanner said something about com.android.vending being installed, and i saw my android system process skyrocket in cpu usage
yes, i have rooted my phone, and yes i deleted some system applications (like facebook, htc facebook, and some other crappy useless stuff, nothing that should harm my phone)
Does anyone know when the OFFICIAL 5.0 update for tmobile comes out, i see the leaked versions online but I don't want to risk it. Right now I'm running.

Well, im not a very heavy BB user but ive never had my batt go dead on me but it happened! i totally couldnt turn my phone on until i put in my charger.Then it happens randomly whereby my phone will heat up and the battery drops 5% every 10mins or so! until it shuts off!! It happened once right after i fully charged my phone and it shut off within the next hour.Anyone knows whats happening?? i suspected whether it was any of my installed apps that are draining my batt, so i shut off everything! i mean no msn no foursquare no twitter only emails are on but yet it still happens!!Help please? i hope its just the batt thats screwed not my phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an ATT 8520 Curve unlocked to work with a tmobile sim card and have a few questions...Now that's unlocked I cant setup an external email account (hotmail, gmail, etc...) that icon is missing from the setup section. how can I get that feature? can I also use the bbm feature? I added a friend (and vice-versa) but it just stays as pending. is it possible to bbm? for the above 2 do i need to get the bb data plan so they can work? I've read elsewhere that the best way to get the features would be to load the tmobile handheld software. I went to tmobiles site, I enter my ph# - select the 8520 - click on handheld and it takes me to their 'shop for phones' page. I guess they now by the number that i dont currently have a bb. So I tried a friends ph# from tmobile who has a bb and it still took me to the 'shop for phones' page. So I Am hoping it's just a link glitch going on right now. I did download from this forum the 5.0 OS "8520wifiM_PBr5.0.0_rel860_PL5.2.0.47_A5.0.0.509_W ind_Hellas.exe" which obviously is not tmobile. What would loading this different OS allow me to do? Or what features will I have available? and I have lowercase 'edge'.

We now have official word from RIM via press release today that unless you have a 9650, 9700, or Pearl3G you have to buy a new phone to get OS 6:"Subject to carrier certifications in the months ahead, the new OS is expected to be available for the BlackBerry® Bold™ 9700, BlackBerry® Bold™ 9650 and BlackBerry® Pearl™ 3G, as well as future BlackBerry smartphones."
That being said, are you going to be dumping your 8520/30 for something new just to get OS6?
got a 8520 a couple of months ago, and after two weeks the phone speaker would break up when making a call, so you could only hear 1 in 3 words someone was saying, and inbetween was silence.T-mobile sent me a new one out next day, but now after 4 months the new one has started doing it.Can make calls fine with ear piece, speakerphone is working for playing music, haven't tried it for calls, and handset speaker works fine for music too, but breaks up when phoning anyoneThe second time it happened was just after okaying an upgrade. Anyone heard of this before?

Charged the battery up and phone worked fine and I turned it off before going to bed.
The phone turned on fine this morning and was showing a full charge. I did turn it off when I got to work and when I went to turn it back on when I went to lunch I got nothing. The LED glows briefly and faintly when I try to power the phone on.
I tried hooking to my car charger but with the same results.
I did a search but apologies if this has been covered already...
I just got my new Curve 8520 from O2 (UK) and the software version is 4.6.1.314.. this seems to be really old?
Should I try an OTA update or should I force one using the links I can probably find on here?
I'm having a few issues with gmail not notifying me and a few other things, and I figure they have upgraded software for a reason!
I'm having a bit of a problem updating to the latest version of firmware for my 8520. Currently I've got v4.6.1.314 but Vodafone have released v5.0.0.1168 so I'd like to upgrade to that.
I've already downloaded and installed the firmware on my computer but when I try to use the App loader to install it on my blackberry it tells me v4.6 is the most recent available.
Any ideas why v5 won't show up when I try to install it?
Yesterday I had a process that started running and draining my battery. It appeared in the battery usage as "rild". There have been other posts here and in other android forums about this same phenonemon happening. I shut down, it ended the process and hasn't reappeared today, but it seems this is happening with Motorola phones, not just the RAZR?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to update my 8520 to 5.0, and no matter what I try I cannot get the thing to work, I've tried to delete and reinstall the update of my computer many times (5.0.0.509, platform 5.2.0.47), tried unplugging the internet, turning off connections on my phone, taking out the SD card, I mean just about everything, except wiping my phone, obviously I'm saving this for a last resort. I'm not on a carrier (etisalat) where the update is released, and probably won't be for a long time. So I've deleted the vendor file and all that, and when I go into loader.exe or Desktop Manager, the only option for my phone is the 4.6 software.
I don't know what else I can do?

Also, mine is Grey OEM by Telus. I just don't know what colour i'll customize it, any Idea? I like black and white just like my old Tour, but there's white 8520 so it would be less unique
