Feb 11, 2010I am a new user and have just bought a BB Curve 8520. Carrier is Virgin Media; OS is V4.6.1.314 (platform 4.2.0.135); Desktop Manager Version is 5.0.1.2.8 I have transferred photos, music and some documents from my PC successfully to my BB using Desktop Manager. However some .doc files transfer, but I cannot open them on the BB. I get an error message saying a file cannot be opened as it is an RTF file. I also notice that when I start to transfer the files, the little window that pops up does not give me the option to convert them - it is grayed out. Help please - I am totally new to Blackberry and not a whiz!

BB8530 has all the updates.Had a 8320 maybe and lost it recently.Running Vista on the laptop and everthing seemed to work before I lost the old phone.Now I am trying to download all my information and contacts into the BB8530. All my files seem to have downloaded except the contacts.I get an error message stating something to the effect that my files are set for/to a wireless and will not transfer. I am new to all this so. Apr 13, 2010I have several dozen pictures that were added to my new Curve 8530 from my old phone before I had an sd memory media card, so they're sitting in the internal device memory. How do I transfer them to the media card, and can I "select all" to move them all at once or do I have to go picture by picture?
Also, I use Desktop Manager for Mac. Is there any way I can move them around through my Mac Finder? Would I have to disable Mass Storage? In what situations would one enable or disable Mass Storage and MTP? (OK, that's probably a second topic; but I haven't found a good explanation of what it is.)

Sep 12, 2011I currently have a blackberry curve 8520, which has a broken screen, the 'white screen of death' as its been know, and I have managed to navigate around the phone without a screen to back up my files to my blackberry desktop software.however, I have been upgraded to a blackberry bold 9780 witch runs a newer version of blackberrys OS system, I'm not sure which one. Is it possible to transfer my settings from the backed up files from my curve 8520 to my new bold 9780, and would this have any effect on the newer system?

I need the companion software to sync the Word and Excel files on my PC with the DTG on the 9850, since the BB Desktop doesn't seem to include those files. From where do I download the Documents To Go Desktop application for PC that is compatible with the RIM 9850? The manufacturer of DTG says to go to RIM for support.

The feature was removed WITH 2.1!! The only thing you can do is to transfer files TO the phone, but I was told I need a separate android app to make my $400 phone do what a $30 nokia can do without any problems -- (browse my photos on the memory card and transfer them to my computer)!!! I wold like to get some official confirmation from the mods on this forum because due to all the issues with 2.1 I'm thinking of flashing my x10 back with 1.6!

Jul 5, 2010I have a Pearl, doesn't connect to PC, no internet. My brother is letting me use his Curve to transfer a theme to my Pearl. Now basically, i need to know how and where to transfer the Pearl theme to (while the curve is plugged in, and the pearl's micro sd is in it) then remove the SD card and put the SD card it in the pearl, then locate the theme.
When i open the folders for the micro SD card on the computer,(while in the curve) i see no folder for apps or themes. I transfer the alx and cod file into every folder there but i can't find it when i put the micro sd back in my pearl
The next thing ive tried was installing it as an app thru BB manager, it said it transferred ok, but i cant find it on the micro sd card (do they go right to the curves own memory maybe??)

I have an SD card installed that appears to be working properly.In windows explorer if I want to copy music to either the main music folder on the phone or the music folder on the SD card I get the following error:The phone is unlocked with a PIN so it should be able to write to the phone but it doesn't. I am using the USB C cable that came with the phone.
I can create a folder in the music folder, but I cannot copy a file into the newly created folder.If I try to copy a file into the Saved Pictures folder it works, but if I try copying into the camera roll folder I get the same error.I have had a Lumia 920 and Lumia 1020 before this an I have never had this issue.

Jun 20, 2014My Nexus 5 has never been able to transfer files over USB to Win7 computers. The computers do not recognize the presence of the Nexus (no response and nothing in Device Manager). The Nexus shows it's charging, but that's it. I've tried different cables and computers. In addition, NFC and Beam also do not work but regular WiFi works fine for internet use. Bluetooth works but is too slow to be usable for data transfer.
