May 2, 2012My bb 8520 came with word doc to go. I deleted it by mistake. Now I can open my file, how do I reinstall it?

BB Curve 8500 :: 8520 - Date Format - After Reinstalling Pre-installed Apps
Feb 7, 2010I bought a 8520 last month and I am using the telephone with the italian language. By mistake I had cancelled some pre-installed apps like DocsToGo and I reinstalled them by ising Desktop Manager. At the same time I got the chance to cancel the languages I don't need. Since then I have problems with the date format: date format should be in the european standard (DD/MM) but it always appears in the US one (MM/DD). This happens only on the desktop, clock, and phone call list. Otherwise sms and calender are correct. I have 4 languages installed at the moment on the device (according to the language option list): Italian, English, English (UK), English (US) and German. With all those languages I have the problem with the date, only if I choose German it's correct. I have been advised to update the firmware, but unfortunately it didn't help.
I have also unistalled some third party programs but it also didn't help. Theme is the standard one and no new one has been installed. This is quite an annoying issue, even though it doesn't dramatically affect the usage of the phone. I did a backup before installing the DocsToGo apps.
BB Curve :: 8520 -- BBM Deleted On Restart
Jan 13, 2012Whenever I restart my phone, even to uninstall an app (facebook was annoying), once the blackberry starts up again, messenger is deleted, along with all my messages and contacts. This is very, very, very frustrating, for lots of reasons.
My software is v5.0.0.681. I have AppWorld. I had v. 5 of BBM and have upgraded to v.6 as I got an e-mail encouraging me to do so. App World says I still have the earlier version of BBM installed, but I can't find that. I have looked, I know how to look, but it just doesn't seem to be there.
Last time I reinstalled it, and it worked fine, but obviously occasionally you need to restart your blackberry, so I'd really like to get this problem actually solved.

Aug 26, 2010I just updated my blackberry to the newest version and I DID backup my contacts.So after the update it completely messed up my phone.It added like all my aim contacts for some reason and there are no numbers in the phone with names.How am i supposed to get the aim and facebook contacts off and my normal numbers back on?

Jul 18, 2011my screen froze, and the only thing i could do was turn the blacckberry off and take the battery out and therefore rebooting it. however when turning back on the message "uncaught exception: index 8>=8" appeared. Well, im not a very heavy BB user but ive never had my batt go dead on me but it happened! i totally couldnt turn my phone on until i put in my charger.Then it happens randomly whereby my phone will heat up and the battery drops 5% every 10mins or so! until it shuts off!! It happened once right after i fully charged my phone and it shut off within the next hour.Anyone knows whats happening?? i suspected whether it was any of my installed apps that are draining my batt, so i shut off everything! i mean no msn no foursquare no twitter only emails are on but yet it still happens!!Help please? i hope its just the batt thats screwed not my phone.

Aug 11, 2010I have an ATT 8520 Curve unlocked to work with a tmobile sim card and have a few questions...Now that's unlocked I cant setup an external email account (hotmail, gmail, etc...) that icon is missing from the setup section. how can I get that feature? can I also use the bbm feature? I added a friend (and vice-versa) but it just stays as pending. is it possible to bbm? for the above 2 do i need to get the bb data plan so they can work? I've read elsewhere that the best way to get the features would be to load the tmobile handheld software. I went to tmobiles site, I enter my ph# - select the 8520 - click on handheld and it takes me to their 'shop for phones' page. I guess they now by the number that i dont currently have a bb. So I tried a friends ph# from tmobile who has a bb and it still took me to the 'shop for phones' page. So I Am hoping it's just a link glitch going on right now. I did download from this forum the 5.0 OS "8520wifiM_PBr5.0.0_rel860_PL5.2.0.47_A5.0.0.509_W ind_Hellas.exe" which obviously is not tmobile. What would loading this different OS allow me to do? Or what features will I have available? and I have lowercase 'edge'.

We now have official word from RIM via press release today that unless you have a 9650, 9700, or Pearl3G you have to buy a new phone to get OS 6:"Subject to carrier certifications in the months ahead, the new OS is expected to be available for the BlackBerry® Bold™ 9700, BlackBerry® Bold™ 9650 and BlackBerry® Pearl™ 3G, as well as future BlackBerry smartphones."
That being said, are you going to be dumping your 8520/30 for something new just to get OS6?

Jul 5, 2010got a 8520 a couple of months ago, and after two weeks the phone speaker would break up when making a call, so you could only hear 1 in 3 words someone was saying, and inbetween was silence.T-mobile sent me a new one out next day, but now after 4 months the new one has started doing it.Can make calls fine with ear piece, speakerphone is working for playing music, haven't tried it for calls, and handset speaker works fine for music too, but breaks up when phoning anyoneThe second time it happened was just after okaying an upgrade. Anyone heard of this before?

Apr 19, 2010My 8520 was working fine last night but the battery was down to 10% charge.
Charged the battery up and phone worked fine and I turned it off before going to bed.
The phone turned on fine this morning and was showing a full charge. I did turn it off when I got to work and when I went to turn it back on when I went to lunch I got nothing. The LED glows briefly and faintly when I try to power the phone on.
I tried hooking to my car charger but with the same results.

Jul 10, 2010I'm having a bit of a problem updating to the latest version of firmware for my 8520. Currently I've got v4.6.1.314 but Vodafone have released v5.0.0.1168 so I'd like to upgrade to that.
I've already downloaded and installed the firmware on my computer but when I try to use the App loader to install it on my blackberry it tells me v4.6 is the most recent available.
Any ideas why v5 won't show up when I try to install it?
