I am seeing a new icon appearing in my home screen from last night. The new icon is appearing where I see any new msg or email icon shows up.
The new icon looks like a black circle with a arrow coming in. Can anyone tell me what is that alert for?
I have had a new icon on my home page that moves to the upper right near the wifi icon when using the 8530. It has a 3 and right next to it is a black circle with a red mark on upper right edge of circle. Almost resembles the old round cartoon bombs from years ago. Just showed up on my phone last week.

On the one phone, I have a notification for facebook which I have already checked out, but the notification won't go away. On the other phone, there is an icon that looks a lot like the "earth" on the email icon. I have searched all over this phone - email messages, BBM messages and updates etc.

I have 2 saved Wi-Fi profiles (work and home), and both work fine. At the moment, however, I'm connected to my work profile, as verified by the SSID being displayed at the top of my home screen on the phone and it showing as 'Connected' in the Wi-Fi setup options, however the 3G icon on the screen is lit up and the Wi-Fi icon is dim. So on the one hand it says I'm connected but the icon is not lit up as it usually is.Also, one of my apps doesn't connect to its server and says I need to establish a connection first, so I'm wondering if I'm not really connected.

Really loving this phone (8520) and a massive leap from my last phone.
Having trouble with connecting to my or my works wifi. It registers both routers and displays the name across at the top of the phone and in wifi settings I have a black square with a white dash line and a green wifi symbol.
I have a Asda pay as you go sim which is fine for the calls text etc but I hearing not so good for the Internet.
I have managed to get the browser going with the Hotspot setting but I'm guessing this isn't using my home wifi as it as slow as a snail and keeps cutting out.
Without Hotspot enabled it tries to use VodaphoneLive and I get the message "unable to connect to the Internet, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact your service provider"
My apps occasionall disappear from main home pages as well as from folders placed on home page but yet they are all still loaded on phone.Has happened numerous times for same apps and most apps are stored on SD card.Running latest gingerbread version 2.3.3. This has happened before on version 2.2.

It's appears to be a golden globe (almost like that of the web browser icon - which was what i though it was related to) with a number 1 next to it just as if it was a message or social network notification.
