When calling there is an icon on the top row I do not know anything about. from right to left there is the signal strength bar then the volume indicator then this strange icon which is a box with five little circles across it. What does that box with five little circles in a line across it mean?
View 4 RepliesI have 2 saved Wi-Fi profiles (work and home), and both work fine. At the moment, however, I'm connected to my work profile, as verified by the SSID being displayed at the top of my home screen on the phone and it showing as 'Connected' in the Wi-Fi setup options, however the 3G icon on the screen is lit up and the Wi-Fi icon is dim. So on the one hand it says I'm connected but the icon is not lit up as it usually is.Also, one of my apps doesn't connect to its server and says I need to establish a connection first, so I'm wondering if I'm not really connected.

I have an icon on my 8520 which is a little circle with an arrow going in. Looks like a red star on the outer circle where the arrow crosses the circle. At the moment it has a 1 next to it also. Kind of looks like a firewall for mail? That is a complete guess on my part though, anyone have an icon like this? I have also lost my caller ID but think this is not related and is my provider rather than phone settings, they are all correct.
I recently installed the "mylookout" application with the AntiVirus scanner, not sure if it is connected with this at all?

I've only just got my BB and I downloaded the BBM app, hadn't added any contacts etc yet but this morning for some reason the icon isn't appearing anywhere on the home screen, in any of the folders.I tried to delete the app through "my world" on BB app centre, but it said it couldn't?

It's appears to be a golden globe (almost like that of the web browser icon - which was what i though it was related to) with a number 1 next to it just as if it was a message or social network notification. Does anyone know what this icon might be and how to possibly get rid of it?

I've looked in the obvious places in Options to try and re-instate the icon but can't seem to see anywhere which allow me to do ths. View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a BB Curve 8530 and I have an icon on my home screen that I cannot figure out. It looks similar to the icon used for missed call or placed call except it has a curved arrow next to it. It is a gold phone receiver and the arrow is bent at a 45 degree angle. (Kind of like a backwards check mark with an arrow head on the bottom). I have a suspicion that it has to do with call forwarding since I forwarded calls to different phone # the other day, however, I cancelled that. I have checked my messages folder, rebooted, pulled battery, done an update, etc. Nothing works. I looked through the manual and it doesn't show the icon.

When I get a voicemail, a simple, white icon (a single line with a small circle at each end) appears in the top left of my screen, where the email & text notification icons also appear. In the past, once I check my voicemails, the icon goes away. But this time it has not. I have checked my voicemail several times and even erased all of my saved voice mails, but the icon will not go away! How can I get rid of it?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI currently upgraded to the new BlackBerry Curve 8530 after having the Curve 8330 for 2 years. For the past week I have had nothing but problems. I pulled the battery out 4 times over the past week, and now I am having some problems with the SMS and MMS Text icon. When my phone receives an SMS or MMS message I click on the icon and read the message, and either respond or do not respond. Then when I back out and go back to my home screen, the SMS and MMS icon still indicates that I have an unread message. There is NO SMS or MMS indicator icon at the top of my screen to alert me of how many messages there are, because there are no new/old unread messages. I tried pulling the battery out twice, and it corrects the problem for a little bit (maybe an hour) and then reverts right back to it's annoying ways.
Please help me out. I attached a photo to this discussion so hopefully it will make it easy for whomever is responding to fully understand what is going on.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI got a new Nokia Lumia Icon with Verizon Wireless contract. I installed skype and when trying to make International Voice calls, all I see the blue backgroud with Skype call outgoing icon and then nothing happens. Sometimes, the call gets active as in it shows the seconds counter of the call,but nobody can here anything on either side of the call. I do have some credit balance in my Skype account.
I tried re-installing the app but to no avail.
Previously, I had an Android device and when I tried to make same International mobile calls now in it, I am able to connect and talk without any issues. I also chatted with an Skype support team and they also couldn't get much. They said that I am reporting such type of issue for first time and told that one of their tech specialist will get in touch with me once they have completely assessed the issue.
I recently received a message telling me that an update was available for App World. I downloaded the update, installed it and rebooted. Now I am unable to download apps. When I hit the download button it takes me to the sign in for BlackBerry ID, then to terms and conditions and then to my ID settings! The only way I can get off this screen is to press Discard, which takes me back to where I started! I just keep going round in circles.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI have a Curve 8520 from TMobile (US).I also had a Pearl 8100 from Fido (Canada).I got the Curve unlocked and want to use it on the Fido network instead of the Pearl. I seem to have gotten everything working on the Curve, except for the email.I had the same email accounts (gmail, hotmail) set up on both phones, but for some reason now that I've switched over to the Curve on the Fido network, I can't send or receive email.I've checked all my settings, and they seem right.I can access the web, my Wi-Fi is set up, and I can send & receive texts. Anyone have any ideas about this email problem? Also, I can't remember my account username for the BB website to access my account online to change the email.When I ask to send my password, it says it has been sent to my BB, but of course I can't receive email, so I'm not getting it.

When i call someone they can here me but i cant here them,then when i hang up,my screen goes white,then restarts. Im not sure if he has blown the speaker or punctured through something after he put in the jack.

It has been stuck here all day! I called Fido earlier and asked them what to do and they told me to connect to my computer, I have done that and have tried everything and the problem still exists.
I have just upgraded to the BB 8520 Curve and I cant find predictive text anywhere?Surely it must be there somewhere !
