BB Curve 83xx :: OS Update Deleted My Calendar Appointments?
Jan 12, 2010I downloaded the updated OS for my BB 8330 last evening and it deleted all my calendar appointments both on my BB and my yahoo calendar.

Jan 6, 2010I am using a BB 8330 & syncing to Outlook on my home computer. I have many years of calendar entries that I would like to keep in my Outlook calendar, however, don't want to use up so much space on my BB with the older appointments. I have my sync set up to two-way & to sync all appointments. If I set the "keep appointments" option to anything other than "forever" will it delete the older appointments from my Outlook as well or just on the BB.

Jan 12, 2010I tried to help my friend update his 8330... only the blackberry messenger. He is not an avid crackberry user, so did not have his contacts backed up on his computer, and of course he lost his contacts, except for the ones with email addresses attached to them for some reason. He lost all phone numbers. I was wondering if there is any way his contacts would have been backed up, either with verizon, on the media card, any way to get them back..... He is running the last official update from Verizon.

Jan 3, 2010I have read through several threads to try and find out how to completely remove useless applications and icons on my BlackBerry Curve 8330. Many people attempting to be helpful have posted comments about hiding icons (either directly or putting them in folders). Other people have suggested clicking on "Options" and then "Advanced Options" and then "Applications" and then option "Delete." The problem is that many icons on the desktop are really just bookmarks for the BlackBerry browser so they cannot be deleted by this process (as they are not applications).
I want to TOTALLY REMOVE the icons to useless crap like Yahoo Messenger, MySpace, ICQ, AOL Messenger, etc. Forgive my being blunt, but I use my phone for business and not to mess around with goofy little apps. Does anyone know how to actually REMOVE unneeded bookmark icons from the Blackberry Curve desktop?

May 23, 2010So, went through and deleted some applications I don't use and then address book was gone.

Google Talk
Facebook
and maybe 1 other, but no core apps
No backup.
Any ideas?

I've done search after search on my phone and it's only giving me the messages I've sent to that person and not their messages.
Is there a way to pull these messages or do I need some sort of software? I haven't done a backup for a few months since I only use it as a phone and for Facebook.Please tell me there is someway to pull these messages. I need to catch this perp now and report him to my pastor.

Aug 15, 2011I have a new Storm and have just suffered a major disaster due to the default setting that deletes old appointments in Calendar if they are over 60 days old.
Blackberry - change your defaults to retain any information FOREVER rather than hiding a default deep in the Calendar options set to 60 days which no-one knows about till it is too late - I have lost 4 years of critical project schedules and activities simply because I bought a new phone!! Judging by a couple of other posts on these forums others have also suffered this unwanted 60-day default. It is just so much more logical that the Users make a concious decision to have automatic deletion.

If the appointment is then deleted in Outlook it remains on the BlackBerry. If the appointment is created and deleted on the BB it appears and disappears in Outlook just fine. Can anyone assist in troubleshooting this one?

Jan 14, 2010I had to transfer my info to a new phone, now none of the calendar entries are showing on the home screen. i've got 2 new calendars that i've never seen before, device default and unknown. those are in addition to my email calendar. DD = green, my email = blue, and unknown = yellow. the original entires are all green and DO NOT show up on the homescreen. any new ones i enter are yellow and DO show on home screen. any ideas why this is happening? i have a lot of future entires that i dont want to re-enter.

When the battery was reinstalled and the phone auto restarted, I lost my desktop and knew immediately something bad had happened. It restarted with the original factory settings. This is a very serious situation because I need to refer back to my calendar and look at past appointments.
