Jan 23, 2010I keep getting an error message that says "uncaught error: java.lang.null.pointerexception." I wiped out my handheld, but every time it restarts that message comes back up. When I go to my text messages, and I hit the "menu" button, nothing happens it just freezes and doesn't let me scroll up or down until I hit "menu" again.

can i delete or install the mod ( if its the source of the problem ) to fix it? since i dont have any backup ..I'm using Bold 9700( phone cannot be connected to DM due to the white screen App error 523 and it appears even if i restarted the phone in the safe mode )

Feb 23, 2011I have a Blackberry Bold 9780, i'm using v.6.0.0.294 on o2 in the UK.Over the past month i have noticed problems. I can't tell you what icons vanished first, but certainly Blackberry App World was one of the first to dissapear, now my phone lock has gone although i can search it and its actually hidden, it won't un-hide...Blackberry App world doesn't exist at all any longer on my Bold and even when i downloaded it again, it won't appear.(not sure if there are other icons missing these are the only 2 i've noticed so far).It says i am running the latest software so i dont quite understand whats going on.I have rebooted several times, no luck.I have been on the Blackberry menu and looked for a way to unhide my lock icon and it wont do it.

Then now when I m trying to go in the option Email account management, a message appears which says: Unable to open email setup application. Contact your wireless service provider. My phone operator is vodaphone.nl and I have the data plan. I tried to deleted all the service books, tried to register it again, and also tried to wipe the blackberry. Apr 29, 2011I'm getting this error immediately after I enter my password just once after a device reboot.I know this is an error that is thrown by an application but my problem is I cannot determine which one. I used the device switch wizard to switch from a Bold 9700 with OS5 and a fair number of apps installed. I used app world to delete everything that was not a Research in Motion created app, rebooted, then cleanly reinstalled a subset of the 3rd party apps. The error persisted even when only RIM created software was installed.How do I determine which application is throwing this error? I tried looking at the system log, the error is there but with no detail as to which module or app is causing it.

Nov 7, 2012I upgraded to Blackberry App World version 4.0.0.63 on my Blackberry Bold 9780 yesterday. After re-booting the phone, my App World icon was suddenly missing from my home screen. It was not on my Download screen either. I could also not find it when doing a search for App World. I re-installed App World from the Blackberry website. I still had the same problem. Then a friend suggested that I un-install App World by Settings: Device: Application Management: Blackberry App World - and selecting delete in Options. I did this - and then re-installed App World AGAIN on my phone from the website. And still the problem persists. Do I actually have App World on my phone or not? If I do have it on my phone, how and where do I find the icon - so I can place it on my home screen.
