Just received a new 9780 Bold from work as an upgrade from the 8900 i am used too.....call me old fashioned but i would really like to keep the standard tones i used on the 8900 for ringer/sms/BM/email.....unfortunetly the 9780 does not have these, is it possible to transfer these over to my new phone? Just to clarify, these tones are the pre-installed/standard ones NOT purchased ones!
View 1 RepliesOur company purchased 12 Nokia E71 phones and they are using exchange for e-mails. What is happening is that our new company e-mail signature now includes our logo, our group logo and 6 small boxes which are hyperlinked to redirect back to our corporate site when clicked on. I have brought the overall signature as far down as 120kbs which is fine for a desktop email client, but when staff are using their phone to open up an internal e-mail which contains the signature, the phone hangs for about 1min with a progress bar that simply states "opening". This is a concern for the company as it would mean higher data charges for field users.
I assumed that the phone only read e-mails in plain text, but appears to be downloading the whole message (I think). When I open the test email and see the message details on the phone...the Nokia says 24kb. am I right in thinking that the phone is not in fact downloading the full message but only the text portion which is 24kb's??
When the iPhone 3g was released the iPhone 2g price was slashed in half...I was kind of expecting this to happen to the 3g now but by the sound of it if I went into the apple store tomorrow morning I wouldn't be able to purchase one at all...Anybody reckon there will be a price cut or is that just the end of them

E52/E55/E72) and another for touch GPS phones (eg. 5800 XM, N97 mini).I am guessing that the Michelin Guide is only present on the Touch version phones (5800 XM and N97 Mini). Right now we use Blackberry's at work, but when I get the iPhone 4 I would rather just use that to get my work email if I can. I know my Exchange email address (it's just user@exchange.company.com versus my normal @company.com email address) but I have a couple questions:Does Exchange allow IT depts. to lock down Exchange to approved decives/device IDs?We have to change passwords every month or so, but I never have to do anything on my Blackberry to keep getting email pushed - how does Echange handle that? Would I have to just update my password every time it changes?Just looking for experience from those who have added their work email from and Exchange server to their personal iPhone.

I believe the problem lies with the setup requiring OWA address, while our OWA is only internal only.With Android, all we had to do is put domain, exchange server and username. Is there hope still? I'm using Bold 9900. Last time I can sending and receiving email from my work by using my BB device. Due to security policies I'm no longer able receive email from my work. I have to register my name (as blackberry user) and meet the company policies before able to receive push mail from exchange server.Since my Bold not provided by the company (this is my personal phone) so I don't want to meet the company policies as my office mate using Iphone, Android and Windows phone do not meet the policies at all for their personal phone and no problem with sending and receiving email.

Later I tried to text it to a couple family members. On one of the attempts, it didn't attach because I hit the wrong selection (not sure what).Anyway, ever since, the song comes on constantly and plays all the way through. For example, if I receive a text, the normal text alert sound goes off. But afterwards, the song starts to play and I can't stop it until it has played through. If I receive an instant message from someone on Blackberry Messenger, the normal message alert sound goes off, but afterwards the song starts and again plays all the way through.If I make a call, after I hang up the song goes off and plays all the way through. If I send an email, as soon as I hit send button, the song goes off and plays all the way through. Nothing I have tried seems to work.I have checked all my ringtone and contact settings. I have deleted the ringtone/song from my ringtone file and deleted the few messages and emails on phone where I forwarded it to myself or a family member. Putting the phone on silent doesn't seem to work. Once the song starts, I cannot stop it until it plays all 30 seconds. Anyway, I still have the same problem and the song will not quit playing. So, I think you can see my dilemma. Anyone have suggestions on how to fix this problem? I thought maybe it had a virus, but no one that I know who has the ringtone has the same problem as me. I did recently install a new update/upgrade of the Blackberry operating system. Do you think it is a problem with the update?

Will BESX be able to be integrated on to a hosted exchange server? Or will it be solely and only for people with their own exchange server? Initially I thought it was just going to be software to install onto my phone but I now think it will need to be installed server side. Also, will it possibly be available do you think as a fully hosted solution, in the same way as some providers offer hosted a BES and Exchange solution? i.e. a hosted BESX and Exchange solution? I'd be really interested to know your thoughts. I was so excited and now it seems that my excitement was misplaced!
