My wife bought me a PlayBook for Christmas. I think I need Blackberry Bridge to read my Bold 9000 e mails? To get this I think I need software 5.0? I have loaded sucessfully 4.6.0303 on the phone, but cannot load 5.0. It says it cannot find the device.
Is iOS6 gonna have some sort of bridge type of capability like the blackberry bridge ? because something like that would be useful for users with an iPad and iPhone.
I installed OS 7.1 yesterday and I no longer have blackberry bridge and I cannot get into My World @ Blackberry App World either from phone or desktop. I keep getting message "Blackberry App World is having trouble connecting to the Blackberry App World server. Verify your network connections and try again." I have wifi working and H+ for carrier signal.
i have a weird issue with blackberry bridge, after i have installed it from the appworld i can't open it.the appworld menu for the blackberry bridge has only options like "reviews", "recommend" ,"screenshots" but no "open" option.
Why can't RIM develop a Bold 9xxx with the body of the Bold 9000 with larger memory, Trackpad, better camera? They've done it with the Tour and Curve. Plus they've got all the parts available already, just need a little engineering to fit the trackpad and everything else. C'mon RIM. We know you can do it. I'm sure you'd sell millions of them.
Quick question. I am starting a new Job and they are getting me a superbasic Perl. I need this for work and so I will be forking some dough out of my pocket to get one of the two following phones: Bold 9000 (I'll pay 100$ Canadian, not Us) Curve 8530 (pay 24.99$ Canadian). I am very used to the Iphone and HTC Touch Pro 2 (not trying to start a flaming/argument/anything else , its just what i'm used to). I am very used to browsing with the other phones and I have heard that BB phones are not up to par, so my expectations will be low. Out of the two phones however, does one perform better than the other (Curve 8530 vs Bold 9000)? Out of the two phones, which one do you recommend overall. I have read that the Bold 9000 even though it is older, it still outperforms the 8530...
I dropped my BlackBerry Bold 9000 on the weekend and damaged the LCD screen. The device still works, but two thirds of the LCD is now white and there's what looks like an inkblot on the left side of the screen. I'd like to try to fix it, but don't really want to shell out a lot of $ to do so --- I'm a month away from upgrading.Does anyone have any suggestions, or perhaps a dead BlackBerry with a working screen that you're willing to part with? A DIY repair -- this is out of warranty anyway -- looks straightforward, but I'm not sure I want to spend the $100 or so for a new OEM part to replace the LCD screen.
I have a bold 9000 and I can not connect to the internet. Carrier is AT&T and I live in the North East (NYC area). Worked fine up until yesterday (Jan 25). Now gmail, facebook, browser - none work. I've tried the battery pull, turning on/off the network, run a diagnostic test from mobile network options. In the mobile network test i get the volling anomolies "Blackberry PIN-PIN: No" and it says can't connect to my email (gmail).
A few days ago I pulled my phone out of the holster and It was really hot and when i looked at it i realized it was off, and wouldnt turn back on. just a red light comes on like normal upon a battery pull but after it turns off the red light comes back on again once more then stays off for good. unless i plug it in then it comes on and goes off all the time. I got it powered back up yesterday but then it did it again. Today I plugged it in and I saw a picture of a battery come up on the screen showing it as empty, i was hoping that meant it might charge up. but no such luck. My main objective is just to get the phone up long enough to back up the info on the phone.
I was just wondering. As it turns out that the 9700 and 9000 share the same type of battery, so how is it that the bold has a far superior battery life over the 9000? Some have reported that the 9700 can hold charge upto 2 days even after heavy usage. So i was wondering are the batteries really identical in every way as claimed? and if they arent is it possible to swap the battery of my 9000 and expect a longer battery life? coz the one im having right now only seem to hold charge for about 15hours with fair usage on a 5.0 OS Zain Kuwait.
is it possible to install OS 7.1 via a Mac? I have an unbranded blackberry 9790, and have decided that I can no longer wait for Orange to release the software, as its been out for months already
Before someone bashes me for starting a new thread, Ive posted in other threads and searched EVERYWHERE on the net to no avail. Getting really frustrated. My problem is pretty much everytime I try installing a new OS whether its Official or leaked, the DM or apploader refuses to recognize it. I have like 4 different OS downloaded and not one of them is recognized. I am currently stuck on 5.0.0.545 and battery life SUCKS. If it helps, it is a BELL Canada phone but to my understanding any OS from any carrier can be installed onto any berry correct?Someone please help me install a new OS!!!
I have downloaded the Bridge for Mac software but I can't work out how to transfer my itunes music to the phone. I have plugged the phone in using the usb cable but the phone doesn't appear as an icon in itunes or in the Bridge software window.
I upgraded my Verizon BB Bold 9650 yesterday to OS6. I had it on charge during the upgrade process so it was fully charged around 10:30 pm last night. This morning it had shut itself off due to low battery. So I charged it again and made sure that WIFI and Bluetooth were switched off. I had it charged to ~50% at 9:30 am today and now, at 12:30, it's dead again.
I used to get at least 2.5 days on one charge with OS5. Now I seem to be getting about 6 hours total with OS6.
When I try to go into appsth emessage installing blackberry identity is still showing at 100. Even pressing cancel does not let me out of it.I have been online and created blackberry id but am still having the same problem
when SMS will come to the Playbook, but apparently it's a question for the Bridge Team. When I purchased my Playbook, I bought it primarily for the bridge experience, so it was a disappointment to find that SMS is not included.
I am trying to upgrade my OS through DM. I went to click upgrade after connecting my 9700, and it pops up "application uploader needs to be upgraded." I tried installing it as it advised, 5 times already and it still pops up the same message. I tried uninstalling and installing DM again with the latest version but it is still happening. Any clues on how to fix this?
I'm new to the BlackBerry but had an iPaq years ago with no internet connection. All I had to do was install a new app from my PC to the phone. I can't seem to figure out how to do that on the BB.
I have a Bible software I want to add as well as a couple of games. What is an application loader file?I went to applications/import files and tried to add my Bible software but it rejects it saying "There was an error importing files."
