Apr 1, 2010Just bought a new Bold 9700. I've run every kind of update possible. BlackBerry Maps IS loaded (v5.0.0). The operating system is the latest. I can see BlackBerry Maps in the add-on applications, yet there's no icon to start the application. The vendor is utterly useless when it comes to helping resolve the issue. The GPS seems to work and gives the correct location data, yet I can't find a means to start the BlackBerry Maps application.

Jan 26, 2012In Options-->Device-->Smart Accessories, in the "Simple Charger" profile I set the "Start Application" option to an application of my choosing and it works great. When I charge with the USB charger in my car, the app launches. However, as soon as I restart my phone, that option resets back to "TeleNav GPS Navigator."
Any advice on how to get my selection to stick after restarts?

Sep 7, 2011my camera doest work. i click the camera button and its appear "Camera Could Not start, close some application".
- battery pull ot (many times) and still doesnt work
-downgrade my OS from OS6 to OS5 and its still does not work
-remove memory SD card
-wipe all data and still does not work.

BB Bold 9700 :: Keep Getting : Update Application Loader Message
Mar 28, 2010I keep getting this message:
Your BlackBerry Application Loader needs to be updated before your can continue. Do you want to update now? [Yes / No]
When I click YES, the Desktop Managers starts to download the Application Loader update. Then I am instructed to close the Desktop Manager so the setup can continue. After the setup is complete, the Desktop Manager starts on its own again and directly tries to open Application Loader. And OOPPS !! it tells you again that it needs to be updated !!! I kept doing that for over 5 times! and I am still getting this wierd messages !

Windows: Windows 7 Ultimate

May 17, 2011I Just Installed BlackBerry Desktop Manager V5.01 and it wouldn't pick up my phone even though it's connected. I tried accessing the the BlackBerry Device Manager and it says 'The application has failed to start because XmlLite.dll was not found. Re-Installing the application may fix this problem.' - Of which I have done twice already. Is there a problem with this version of Desktop manager or any resolutions to fix this? I'm trying to upgrade my device to OS6.

Jul 11, 2010I installed Nokia Chat from Ovi store on my phone. When I start the chat, I am shown an option "Get the latest IM service"
When I click this option, I see "Checking for new IM updates" .It keeps checking for updates for a min or so then I get a message 'Error: Unable to complete request. Try Again"
I have a proper wifi and so its not a connectivity issue. Previously I have used Nokia chat and I had all services(gtalk,yahoo etc) but recently I had to format the phone, so had to install chat again.
Can anyone help me with this issue ? How can I get this chat to work ? if there a newer version available which I can install directly rather than looking for services.
Nokia :: 6700 Slide/ Text Alert / Getting Rid Of Start Up Message
Jul 4, 2010I have never posted on anything like this before so please bear with me.I have a new 6700 slide, but there are 2 things I can't get used to, having had a Samsung phone before.
1. (The worst thing) - if a text comes in, and I don't happen to hear the buzzy tone thing, then I don't get another reminder, and there is no visible sign on the phone that there is a new message unless I open the slide. Even then it doesn't tell me who the message is from and I have to go to the inbox. Is there a way of getting more than one alert? I really don't like this.
2. Every time I turn the phone on it asks me to set up my email preferences. I don't want to use it for email but even if I cancel it, it asks me again next time I turn it on. Can I stop it asking once and for all?
3. Is there a way of marking text messages for deletion, without having to mark just one (very time consuming) or all (which you might not want to do)?
I would be really grateful for any help on one or all of these questions. I really wanted a Nokia but now I am pining for my Samsung.

One message is, "The application slacker_radio has attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy." I can only click 'ok' after that. The other message is, "The application (any one of them) has requested a http connection to (whichever site it uses)" Then is has choices: 'Do not ask for http' and 'Do not ask for http to (whichever site it uses)' The second choice is checked by default. I've tried checking both and either box singely. Again, all the application permissions are set to allow for these apps. I've tried Slacker, Poynt, Scoremobile, Weatherbug, and . I didnt bother trying any other app.

Motorola Droid 3 :: Erroneous Out Of Application Space Message?
Jul 13, 2011I've been running into problems trying to install apps after a number of my apps have been installed that I had on my Droid X and X2. About 2/3 of the way through installing my apps, they started failing because of being out of space. Well, I found that moving apps to the media area (a la sd card on older phones) worked to get more installed, but after jockeying back and forth between installing and moving and then running out of space and moving newly installed ones so that I can install more new ones, I've hid a road block. I'm not sure what the problem is, as I had all of these on my older phones without problems and if I go to Manage Applications, my Application storage shows 578MB used, 1.4GB free.
