IPhone :: Apps Taking Up Too Much Space?

Jul 1, 2012

I use an Iphone 4. My problem is I have only 87 Apps on my phone and its showing I am using 2.1 GB of space. My biggest program is 58 MB and most are well below that.

Does the Iphone keep deleted applications on the phone after they are deleted?

Does it put a lot of "temp files" in the applications area?

BB Curve 83xx :: Won't Use Apps As Memory Space Is Low

Feb 3, 2010

I have a BlackBerry 8330 and I am having problems with my SprintTV, NFL Mobile Live App, etc where I cannot watch any video or audio from those apps. I took it into a Sprint Tech Store, and they thought that maybe it was becuase I either had an after market App that was interfereing with the audio/video feeds, or that I was simply using too much memory and it was interfereing with the audio/video. Tehy couldn't tell me where to look for the Device Memory and had no idea how much it came with out of the box and how much I was using.

I need to know how much Device Memory comes on a BB 8330, where to look in my BB to find out how much I'm using, and need to know if there are any suggestions or tricks I can perform to free some up without deleting too many apps (if that's even possible). From the other forum answers I've read, I don't think there's a way to free space without deleting content. I see Device Memory in my Options, but it only says:
File Free: 27080648 Bytes

Is that a lot left, or is that close to being depleted? Is that actually the Device Memory, or is that something else? There's nowhere that tells me how much I started with.

BB (RIM) :: Switching Memory Space For Apps On (Storm 9500)

Jun 9, 2010

Is it possible to switch what available memory is used for applications in my blackberry? Right now it shows my phone as having only about 20MB of space left for apps in it (all I've downloaded is Facebook mobile, 1 theme, and 2 games from app world). I have an 8GB card in my phone - can i set it where the memory for saving apps is the card instead of the on board memory? I can't find an option to switch it in the phone, but I'm not sure if I'm looking in the right places.

Feb 17, 2011

I just got a message that I'm running low on space from all the apps I'm downloading. So I assume that all these apps go onto the phone memory rather than my SD card. So is it possible to set the dowloads to go to my SD card automatically? And how do I move already installed ones there? And is it a good idea to put them onto my SD card? Since, if I take my SD card out, the apps wont work/crash etc.

Galaxy S5 :: Clear Old Apps For Space From SD Card After Resetting Phone?

Jan 19, 2015

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 from Verizon, currently running Android v4.4.4. Due to battery life that's gone down to about 7 hours from an initial average of about 11, I decided it was time to reset my phone to see if that might work (though I've taken to the less nuclear option of allowing Google to restore my apps and app data from Google's backup).

Before the reset, I'd had almost every app that could be moved to the SD card moved to the SD card.

The reset did not affect the SD card. Now, I'd like to move all my apps that can be so moved, moved onto the SD card again. My question is, since the reset did not affect my SD card (I'd even removed it for one of the two resets that I've done since last night), is there app stuff from my previous installation on my SD card, stuff that I should be able to delete now to make space for my new set of apps that I want to move to the card?If so, how do I clear out that old app stuff?

I assume that I need to...If I had Audible installed on the card before, and I now have Audible in my phone's internal storage, if I move it to the card, is there any chance that it'll recognize the previous installation, re-associate itself with it, and thus save me the time of downloading previously downloaded audiobooks?

Galaxy S5 :: Can't Download Any Apps - Insufficient Space On Device Error Keeps Coming Up

Apr 6, 2015

So I originally tried to update one of my apps that I've been using for awhile when I got the "insufficient space on the device" error message, so then I uninstalled it and tried to download it again and still get the error message.

The app is 20.09MB in size and I currently have 445MB of available space on my Samsung Galaxy S5.

I went through and uninstalled a bunch of apps that I just don't use anymore as well as moved a bunch over to my SD card and yep still getting the message so I don't understand what's going on?

I also tried downloading other apps just to see if it was something within that app or if it's my phone but I get it.

BB Bold 9000 :: Insufficient Space For Update To OS 5

Aug 20, 2010

Only recently my telco releases OS5 for BOLD 9000. Initially I downloaded it and tried to install but it says that there is insufficient space, at that point of time i still keep my fav theme ans stuff which free apps space is around 20mb, and the installation still says that I have insufficient space until I totally wipe the whole thing clean to its original factory status BUT it still says insufficient space for update. Do I have to delete the system software of 4.6 before I need to have the "space" required? (I have currently 50mb of free apps space isn't it enough?)

Please help as the previous update from earlier version to version 4.6 was just few clicks away from desktop manager and things are done and for this 4.6 to 5 update takes me 1 whole day, loosing all my setting and data (cleaned EVERYTHING that I can think of and read all the thread in CB still I can't update to OS 5) Its a Real waste of time and pain from head to toe. I have 50mb of free Application storage space and yet it still needs 7mb of space for the update. I'm thinking of sledge hammering my Bold a couple of time through the process of deleting and restarting.

There are not much third party applications on my phone. From the application management screen I am seeing the OS taking up approximatey 127MB and the combined storage used by the third party applications I have running on my phone is approximately 50MB. However, I am seeing that there is only 7MB free out of 250MB of application data space.I suspect that the old OS is still stored on my phone in some system folders. Where can I find these files? and how can I troubleshoot this further?

BB Bold :: Software Update Not Working (not Enough Free Space)

Nov 1, 2010

I am trying to update the software on my Blackberry Bold to OS 5, using the Blackberry Desktop software on Mac OS 10.5. However, each time I try and do the update I am told there is not enough free space on the phone. I have done the soft reboot and now have around 28 MB of free memory. The Blackberry Desktop software tells me I need 22 MB to install the updates. I have three email accounts set up to store messages for thirty days, and very few applications (Facebook, Google Maps etc). The applications I have on my phone do not add up to 22 MB, so even deleting all of them would not create the free space needed, and I don't think all the stored e-mails should take up too much space (unless attachments are stored on the phone memory as well - can someone confirm whether they are?)

BB Bold 9700 :: HTML Images Don't Download Due To Limited Space

Sep 1, 2010

I moved to BlackBerry Bold 9700 about two weeks ago. Everything works great, except for one issue. Images in my HTML email messages don't download. I have tried all combinations of settings on automatically download images and confirm images download, in the Options > Email Settings menu. What happens is: When I hard reset the phone (take out the battery and reinsert it), and then do Get Images, images download. However, this continues only for some 3-4 hours, or say about 10-15 messages. After a point, Get Images doesn't download images. Even the arrows on the top right of the screen, that indicate an attempt to download, don't come. It almost seems like the phone has kept a limited space aside to download images in HTML messages, and this space is filled up and hence it stops downloading. The moment the battery is taken out and reinserted, Get Images works. But again for some time only.Tried taking Vodafone's help. They updated my Service Book, which according to them is the "standard solution" to Images downloading problem. But nothing happened. Which is expected, because they were possibly giving me a solution for images never downloading. In my case, they download for a bit, and then refuse to, till hard reset.Tried finding where any memory related settings could be there. Found a thing in Settings > Memory > Compression. Tried both Enabled and Disabled, it doesn't help.
