I have a BB 9700 Bold and its a little over a year old. Yesterday my phone went dead. When I tried to turn it back on, the loading thing comes on. After about 4 seconds the screen turns white for a couple of seconds, and then a battery icon with a red cross appears. This happens everytime I try to turn it back on - so now I can't use my phone..

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a bold 9700 with the red x through battery problem. It's not the battery I've tired 3 different batteries, all which were original. It always comes up with the same problem. The LED will turn red when I charge it, then the empty battery with an X through it will be displayed.
I've tried connecting it to Desktop Manager, and it gets recognized just fine, just won't charge at all.
My Blackberry Bold shows the small letters CM over the battery icon when the charger is connected but it will not charge. I've tried removing the battery putting it back in, I've tried 3 chargers, but the battery just continued to drain until it finally went into red. I've been "googling" all day and cannot find any reference to what I'm seeing.

Last night, I went to charge my BB after the battery had drained to find on the screen a drained battery icon with a red cross/line through it. I had reloaded the set up on my phone and it still does not work and it seems that the white loading bar under the icon still loads after it has appeared and stops at around 75%.Will a new battery fix this?As I have said, I have reloaded and wiped everything on my phone and I have also tried the 'take out the battery while it's charged, put it back in method', nothing happened.

All I have is a phone icon that is for Visual Voice Mail, which I am not signed up for and don't want to be. When I click the VVM icon it says do you want to sign up and I hit No and it just kicks me back to the main screen. How can I get rid of the Visual VM icon and get the Call log icon?

I never had this problem with my old curve 8320. I've also had this icon issue since I got my phone several months ago. The icons remain the same no matter which OS version I use. I am on T-mobile.

I assume this means the battery is completely dead but I have tried the battery in another phone and it was fully charged. I have also tried other batteries in my phone which just resulted in the same thing. I also had this problem before and somehow it solved itself within a few hours, but it seems like this time it isn't.

Does this mean that the GPS uses no power outside of the app? There is no GPS power usage indicator in settings > battery to check if this is the case.

The phone is recognsied by SE Companion but when I click on either of the 2 icons for support and media, nothing is installed and a message of "try again" pops up. The battery charging icon does not appear when I try to recharge but the vibration when the on button is pressed appears to suggest that battery has at least some charge

I have tried to wipe the OS with BBSAK 1.8.0, 1.8.2, 1.9.2 , JL_CMDR and Java Loader, none of this work for me, as they all fail to connect to my device. BBSAK could not detect my device. But BB desktop Manager can connect, detect and recongnise my device. When I try to update and reload the OS with DM and BB application loader, I get stuck up with an error message: "Reconnecting to JVM". My Laptop HP Pavilion dm4 Notebook is running 64-bit / Window 7.

What was interesting to me, though, was after my battery died and I tried charging it, it'd get stuck in a loop.
1)Battery Icon with Red Line showing "Charging."
2)Vibrate
3)Nokia Logo
4)Repeat every 5-10 seconds.
Doing a Soft Reset fixed it (Volume Down + Power for 15 seconds) but I'm still wondering if there's been anything from Nokia or Microsoft about this issue other than "We are aware of it." It's been 10 months since this issue arrived on older devices, and it seems to be a Nokia-wide issue.

I did a security wipe on my phone because I previously encountered a problem with my phonebook. The wipe resolved my phonebook problem but caused me a new dilemma. An unusual battery icon started appearing and it won't go away. I tried draining my batt, rebooting the phone, full charging the batt, security wiping again, nothing seems to work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm noticing that my battery life isn't what it seems to be after the upgrade.asically, I rarely check my battery status other than looking at the icon in the notification bar. Today, it clearly showed about 75%. I thought that was pretty good considering the phone was off the charger for about 20 hours (extended battery).I took a look at the battery status details and I see my battery is actually at 50%. The icon obviously is a limited indicator but I don't recall it being so far off prior to the upgrade. Has this changed or is it just that I'm remembering it "differently"?By the way, 73% was used by Android System and 50% (extended battery) after 20 hours of standby is still not good and not even close to specifications. Clearly this needs more work.

One problem I have had though is whenever I do a battery pull my battery instantly says it's drained upon starting back up. Today it went from 50% to 15% after one pull. I know it is a false reading because recently it went from around 50% to 3%(the yellow low battery light was flashing when I turned it back on as well), however, I was able to use the phone for hours after this and it remained at 3%. From what I've read I'm thinking this might be a problem with the battery or battery contacts? But it's strange that it started happening as soon as I upgraded my OS to 5.0. Any suggestions or info?

Whenever I do a battery pull my battery indication after reinsertion reads 0% and shows the battery as red. My battery indicator before the battery pull will read anywhere from 80% to 50% but after the battery pull the indicator changes to read zero and is shown in red. If I don't charge the phone it will die even though prior to the battery pull the charge was fine at 80% or so...
I'm pulling the battery because of memory shortages. I HAVE replaced the battery and I still get the same problem. Pulling the battery after this happens changes nothing. I've pulled the battery numerous times afterwards and I never get the battery indicator to read what it did before the battery pull. I don't dare pull the battery if I'm not near my charger as the phone will die in a matter of minutes...
