over the past couple of months my media player displays the next track rather than the current one playing, and doesn't play playlists which is really irritating.

smartphone (3G, Wi-Fi)
7.1 Bundle 1149 (v7.1.0.342, Platform 5.1.0.276)
The music is held on a SD card.
I have been having a blast exploring and customizing my 9700 over the past few days and last night installed a 16GB microsd and began the process of transferring some of my music to the device via the Blackberry Media Sync app on my pc. Transfer went just fine and all files show up on the card, however when I use the Media Player on the device and select by "Album" or "Artist" the tracks are listed alphabetically rather than by track number. It's not a huge deal except when I want to listen to a particular album in track order (The Wall is just made to played that way, isn't it? ). I have looked around for a menu option or something to list by track, but have had no luck. Does anyone here know how to do this? Also, if I connect to my pc via "Mass Storage Mode" and drill down to the album folder in question the track number shows up in the windows explorer folder and all my mp3 files are saved in a "Track Number" - "Songname".mp3 format.

View 9 Replies View RelatedLast night, my blackberry bold 9900 battery got so low it turned the radio off. I put it on charge over night and when I woke up this morning it will not turn on. The red light simply shows for about 20 seconds and that is it. I have tried pulling the battery but when I replace the battery it just shows the red light once again for about 20 seconds and the screen remains black.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my bold for just over 4 months now and in the last few days my menu key and track key aren't working properly. When I press the menu key it brings up my switch app window (I'm literally just pressing it, not holding it down for a few secs) and will do this 4 or 5 times before it brings up the options. Now my track key is going. I press it and it'll bring my options up. I can do this 3 or 4 times before it'll actually go into the icon or link that I'm wanting . I've tried the whole reboot with the phone on and it does nothing.
My last bold I had 19 months and did not once have a problem with it (other than the deep scratch I put in the screen!), 4 months with this and I can't even use the basic and most important keys on the bloody phone!
Been looking again at upgrading my 8520. I use it a lot for pictures, BBM, and using Vlingo a bit too now. But also for music, specially when in bed. I don't see any track change buttons on the device. If you are listening to music, specially at night, how do you quickly change track? I can do it without even looking at the phone on mine. How do you do it on the 9900?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently updated OS 5 to OS 6 on my Bold 9700 and I was not impressed. OS 6 though smother has cluttered main screen with solid blue highlights - OS 5 is way better in that respect. But my main beef is Media Player. On OS 5 I can copy and paste videos from my computer to media card (without desktop manager) and they all play flawlessly; slider works and I can pick up movie at the point I have left it off. Files are coded for 480x320 resolution for .wmv, .mp4 and .avi. And card was properly formatted. In OS 6 however only .wmv are playing properly. Rest of them are always playing form the beginning and when slider is used video becomes scrambled. .mp4 flies are coded through Nero and are not recognized by BB desktop software. Can anybody shed some light on this issue and have a workaround.I have downgraded back to OS 5.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy BB used to be able to play the .wav files that I received by email from my office phone system. I just ran the BB updates it wanted to and now when I attempt to play a .wav file, media player opens but then says - an error has occurred attempting to play media. The media being played is of an unsupported format.
I found posts saying I needed to install the BB attachment service but I can't get the option to show in Desktop Manager even following the instructions to download and run the OS on the PC.
I used this with absolutely zero problems when I was running 4.6. I recently upgraded to 5.0 (681), and now none of the streams I used to use work. I get an error message, saying that it could not be open.Any suggestions as to A) how to fix it or B) a free app that will stream custom URLs? My phone has been reset several times since I first noticed this problem, and it is still an issue, so a battery pull/reset is not solving this at all.

As of yesterday, whenever I open and use my music player and select shuffle and repeat all, the player will only play 2 songs, and then stop- not playing anoter song, and not shuffling to the next song. Furthermore, when I's listening to a song and press the menu button, I see on the menu list, that besides the shuffle and repeat options there is this "{2}" which I assume, means to play only 2 songs.
If anybody could advise me how to get the player back to it's old fab way of shuffling all songs and playing them throughout, rather than just 2 songs then stopping- i'd be eternally grateful
Media Player on my bold 9790 closed after the screen is locked. I have activated the screen lock after 60 sec. and apparently media player also closes with the screen lock. How can this be solved?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been using SanDisk 16 and 32GB micro SDHC memory cards with both the Bold 9000 (no problems) and the Bold 9900. I had no problems until I accidently broke a 32GB card, snapped it in half, when removing the battery and not noticing that the memory card had slid out a tad.
I replaced that card with the exact same Class 4 card from SanDisk. That card is recognized by my PC (Windows 7 Ultimate) and by the Bold 9000.
The Bold 9900, despite everything I've tried, including reformatting the card to exFAT, rebooting, updating the OS, everything you can imagine, I still get the message that there is no media card in the phone.
I have just upgraded to a 9900 Bold and am experiencing problems staying connected to my wireless network at home. Basically I added the wifi profile and it connected fine then after a while it loses the connection and when I try to reconnect it says failed to authenticate against the network. I tried rebooting my wireless router (Netgear Super Hub from virgin media) and it connects again only for the same thing to happen again after 20 mins. It used to work fine with my old 9700 bold.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo they finally added the ability to share info about the current song you're listening to with friends, however when it comes up with the content of what to send it says "Me recommends <song name> by <artist name>", and continues on with the link to info, etc. Where is it picking up the "Me"? Obviously I have to tell the system who I am somewhere, but haven't found any option inside the Music player nor in the Contacts to specify one of them as my own contact.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having this annoying problem after the belle refresh update. Earlier the music player used to show track progress bar perfectly. Now after the update it does not show progress bar most of the time while playing a song.
On further observation, I noticed that the progress bar shows up correctly everytime for the songs which does not have a album art embedded in it. But if I play a song with a album art, most of the time the progress bar does not appear at all. Try playing few different songs with album art attached.
Also earlier tapping on the album art/icon used to display the volume up-down slider. Now that feature is gone. Since I use a hard cover, it's difficult for me to use the hardware volume buttons every time. Why did you remove a useful feature nokia?
Recently i had upgraded my xperia neo v to ICS. Now there is no option to disable repeat track option in default music player. now i am uing third party music player.

I checked the manual and it says that it was there but I don't have any clue who removed these features from the phone. I dont want the data charges. By the way I have at&t. What about buying an unlocked 8900? would that help?
