I have me a blackberry bold 9780 and woke up one morning and it just stopped reading my media card wit some unable to access media card due to a fatal error. The card works fine in everything else I put it in but no card I put in the device works... Now it dose another thing asking format the memory card when it does still can not b used....
View 1 Repliesi had this phone for exactly 30 days now and it was great up until about 20days ago every now and then it wouldn't read my media card which i would solve by rebooting the device. now it wont read it any at all even when i tried another card it wont pick it up. it shows on the pc when i connect it during a reboot but then a notification comes up saying that a fatal error has occurred and it cannot read the media card and its one again.. by the way the cards were a a 2gig micro SD and a 1gig sandisc

View 2 Replies View RelatedGot a Bold 9780 on Orange from Carphonewarehouse in February this year. In June the phone stopped reading SD cards. Was sent away via the carphonewarehouse repair center and another phone came back. This phone has now come up with the same problem. Will not read any SD card and these cards work on other Blackberry or PC etc. I have tried all the remedies out there. Reinstalled the OS. Started the phone without the Sd card etc.

Up until yesterday I was saving all photos etc to it then today it said I had a message on screen saying "media card has suffered fatal error" I took the card out tried it in my work phone and it worked fine.I tried the card from my work phone in my BB and nothing at all.Cuurently my phone is saying " A media card is not presently inserted in the device" when clearly it is!

Now I can't access the media card any longer, went to Rogers and they told me "never seen that before and I should get in contact with Blackberry tech support. I did have a notice popping up for a couple of seconds reading (fatal error with the media card). Btw, I just inserted my Media card in to my old Blackberry (World) and I can access all files on the card....

Do you wish to repair the Media card now? " and when I click on yes then it shows me the message "Media Card repair failed". I checked my media card in another device is working. An error message appears 'Built-in media storgae not accessible due to detected errors. do you wish to repair, when i click yes another message comes up stating 'select the storgae you want to repair' it has the only built in media option and cancel so i click built in media now it states 'built in media repair failed, you can try to repair by mounting as a usb drive on windows and running chkdsk. or you can reformat. do you want to reformat now.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOk, media card was working fine, had alot of work pictures stored on it and was becoming a hassle to hunt through all of them to find what I wanted. So, I inserted media card in computer and transfered what I wanted to a folder on the computer. Then I formatted the card using the computer. When I put the card back into the phone, the phone knows its there, but I must have wiped the card completely as none of the folders for video, pics, etc. are on it anymore. If I take a picture and go to find it, the media card does not even show up, just device memory.
Does anybody have a remedy for this? I already tried formatting the card in the phone but that didn't work. The phone is telling me in the memory options that 1.8GB is free, so I know it works, it just lost the folders or whatever........
I recently installed OS 5.0.0.442 which was posted on the very first thread of the forum. I haven't had any issues with it until recently.
When I try a soft reset, I get the red indicator light as usual, but instead of resetting, I get a message on my screen that says something along the lines of "Media card installed. All media will be copied onto the device." After this dialog box goes away, the device does NOT reset. Any ideas on why the soft reset no longer works?
So I have just bought a bold9780 and every time i try to insert my SD card into the phone a message pops up saying all media files will be on my phone, but then all of a sudden another message shows up saying "media card storage can not be accessed due to fatal errors". I'm not sure what to do..
View 1 Replies View RelatedDevice info Your carrier: Celcom Malaysia Model: 9780 OS: OS6 Battery Pull didn't solve my issue. my previous sim card had a problem and I had to change sim card but still keep the phone number.Now when I managed to change sim, the BB Protect gave me a notification within the app itself notifying me about my sim card being changed. Being prompted to login using BB ID to verify this change, I tried to log in but it was with no success. Now, my 9780 isnt connected to BIS regardless of having 3G coverage.I also had BB Protect on with my previous sim, when I changed card it gave me a message to confirm this change and asked to login with my BB ID, but tried over wifi and BIS but cant connect.
Having so much diffculties, I made a backup on my pc and run the security wipe. But, still unsuccessful.I tried rebooting, called my telco but still no success. Also, my telco told me that BB Protect had nothing to do with any of this and I'm from Malaysia.
Recently my blackberry stopped saving pictures that I have taken on the camera. It comes up as 'read only files' and it's blank. Now i cant even delete the pictures that are saved on the memory card. I have tried the battery pull, connecting my blackberry to my pc, even tried formatting the media card and it comes up as formatt failed both on the blackberry and also on the pc.

Today the standard blackberry ring tone stopped working (the vibration still works). I am able to receive emails, phone calls and I can make calls. My contacts remain in the phone.

My problem is that this 'other' category usually takes up more than half my memory and no matter what i delete it never seems to go down. how to to decrease its size with reformatting my entire media card?
My phone not recognize my media card, I have took battery out and media card, put the battery back in without the media card then put media back in and it still doesn't register that there is a media card in my phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a BlackBerry Bold 9700. I have taken many pictures that are on my media card. I was on Facebook and looking at a friend's pictures. It was taking too long to download the picture, so I hit the return key to exit out of Facebook. When I went into my pictures to view the ones I had taken, there were no pictures there and I got the message "A Media Card has been inserted that is not formatted. Do you wish to format the Media Card now?"
Of course nothing happens if I hit "No".
If I select "Yes" it says "Warning: Formatting the Media Card will destroy any data stored on it. Do you wish to continue?" Of course I don't want to continue. I just want my pictures and videos back!!!!I have tried turning the phone off and taking the battery out.I have inserted a different media card and it can find the pictures on that card. I have inserted my media card into a friends similar BBerry and I get the same message about the card not being formatted.
Questions:
1) Is there ANY way to get my pictures back?I believe I downloaded most of them through the Desktop Manager, but I am not sure..
2) Any idea why this happened so I know how to avoid it happening again in the future???
I just bought a Bold 9700 from a friend with no media card. Ive tryed 2 different ones and it want show theres a card in the device ive tryed a sandisk 4g and a 8g not sure the brand on the 8g got it from a bud to try but the 4g i bought new and still no luck it just says no media card inserted.

Or must it only be in that 256 of internal memory.
