whenever i back up my bold, and then restore from the backup, none of my sound profiles restore back to the phone. this issue has been a problem ever since i got the phone,whether is was running 4.6, or after i upgraded to 5.0.0.411 what could cause this, and how could i fix it?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI use the Phone Calls Only profile when I go to bed (I figure if it's important someone will call me, I don't want texts, facebook and emails waking me up).I used this profile on the Tour and it worked great.Just tried it last night on the bold and BBMs and emails were not silent, however, my sound settings are all identical to what they were on my tour. My understanding is the profile Phone Calls Only overrides any settings you have, and only makes noise if the phone rings. This was not the case.Is my phone defective, is do I need to do something else to set this up on my Bold?

I have the phone on Loud and the sound is fully up. I've tryed batterys pulls and all that stuff and nothing has worked. I got a new phone for christmas and Im looking to sell this one.

View 8 Replies View RelatedIn DM (V4.6) when I go to Backup/Restore > Advanced my contacts are not found at all. My Calendar is there, SMS messages, etc, but my contacts simply don't appear at all. Any thoughts on why they are not showing up and how I can get them to be visible there?I would like to be able to choose them, among other individual db's for backup.

I tried to restore some contacts from a prev backup and now all the sudden my email functionality is messed up. I have it linked to my GMAIL acct. Things I noticed since that contact backup is now when i go to delete a message, it will not prompt to delete from device only or device and inbox Also I can hit reply on some, but when I go to send, there is no send option. And lastly when I delete from my phone, it does not mark as read or delete from my inbox. i checked all the settings I can find. But nothing changed.

View 6 Replies View RelatedRecently I sent my phone away for repair. Before I sent it our I backed it up to my computer. I got my phone back to day and they sent me a new phone.
The problem I am having is that Blackberry Desktop Software does not recognize my phone as the old phone and it wont let me restore my contacts and information.
I had attempted to use to to the device menu and switch device but it requires me to plug in the old phone, and of course, they kept it.
Why can't RIM develop a Bold 9xxx with the body of the Bold 9000 with larger memory, Trackpad, better camera? They've done it with the Tour and Curve. Plus they've got all the parts available already, just need a little engineering to fit the trackpad and everything else. C'mon RIM. We know you can do it. I'm sure you'd sell millions of them.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI was in the middle of sending a text messege, my phone was fully charged and had lots of life, when it froze up. I couldnt do anything, waited about 5 minuites and still frozen so i did a battery pull.When i popped the battery back in....nothing. No red led what so ever.|Ive tried charging on the wall and the usb on the computer (computer doesnt pick up the device)Ive removed the sim card and put it back.Tried fiddling with the little round battery in the back compartment as i had seen in another post.Plugged the phone into the wall with out the battery....and still absolutly no sign of life

I need this for work and so I will be forking some dough out of my pocket to get one of the two following phones: Bold 9000 (I'll pay 100$ Canadian, not Us) Curve 8530 (pay 24.99$ Canadian). I am very used to the Iphone and HTC Touch Pro 2 (not trying to start a flaming/argument/anything else , its just what i'm used to). I am very used to browsing with the other phones and I have heard that BB phones are not up to par, so my expectations will be low. Out of the two phones however, does one perform better than the other (Curve 8530 vs Bold 9000)? Out of the two phones, which one do you recommend overall. I have read that the Bold 9000 even though it is older, it still outperforms the 8530...

The device still works, but two thirds of the LCD is now white and there's what looks like an inkblot on the left side of the screen. I'd like to try to fix it, but don't really want to shell out a lot of $ to do so --- I'm a month away from upgrading.Does anyone have any suggestions, or perhaps a dead BlackBerry with a working screen that you're willing to part with? A DIY repair -- this is out of warranty anyway -- looks straightforward, but I'm not sure I want to spend the $100 or so for a new OEM part to replace the LCD screen.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a bold 9000 and I can not connect to the internet. Carrier is AT&T and I live in the North East (NYC area). Worked fine up until yesterday (Jan 25). Now gmail, facebook, browser - none work. I've tried the battery pull, turning on/off the network, run a diagnostic test from mobile network options. In the mobile network test i get the volling anomolies "Blackberry PIN-PIN: No" and it says can't connect to my email (gmail).
View 5 Replies View RelatedA few days ago I pulled my phone out of the holster and It was really hot and when i looked at it i realized it was off, and wouldnt turn back on. just a red light comes on like normal upon a battery pull but after it turns off the red light comes back on again once more then stays off for good. unless i plug it in then it comes on and goes off all the time. I got it powered back up yesterday but then it did it again. Today I plugged it in and I saw a picture of a battery come up on the screen showing it as empty, i was hoping that meant it might charge up. but no such luck. My main objective is just to get the phone up long enough to back up the info on the phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI take new photos on my blackberry 9900 they wont open or display... so the photo shows for the few seconds after i have taken it, then i can send it to someone if i want to within about 5 min of taking it - then if i try to access it later the photo doesnt open and i just get the picture icon instead? The first 30 odd photos I took in the begining are still there but all my newest ones dont open, I have tried downloading them to my computer but then it says :file format not supported on all the defective photos? And i tried restarting, taking out the battery, taking out the memory card??
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy problem today has something to do with the images stored in my bb 9700. When I go into the media and pictures folder and go under all pictures, I have photos that I have already deleted that still come up there as thumbnails, but when I click on them, I am unable to view the pictures. However, when I go to picture folders, I don't see them anymore.
The problem is, I don't want to see those pictures that I have already deleted! It always says this file is marked as read only are you sure you want to delete them, I always click yes and it's not working, I went to properties to try and see if I could unmark them as read only or something but the only option is hidden. I tried opening it as a usb drive but those thumbnail pictures don't show up.
just recently bought a blackberry bold 9700 with a data plan on t-mobile -UK. When i first went through the setup wizard i had the two options one for the enterprise and the other for personal use. I did not fill in my details so i left it at that moment to check out the other features on the phone. But the second time i came round to it, it only gave me the enterprise option which i dont want. Just wondering how i can get that option back. Also i cannot seem to be able to get blackberry apps or windows live messenger, although my blackberry messenger is working fine. please can someone help me with this?

I am a vodafone greece consumer with a full 12 monts programme for my bb.when i got the bb the bbm and email didnt work. i was only able to make my profile for bbm and for the mail it doesnt have the option for a personal email account only the enterprise.I went to the vodafone store and i asked about the bbm internet service. They opened that for me and i have BIS too. i thought that would solve my problems but nothing. Still nothing works. I register the GPRS bla bla bla many times. I receive a msg that tells me that im registered to tte wifi network but nothing again. Ofcourse i made the batt trick many times.

I was always synchronizing my calendar without problems.Now suddenly after exchanging my Black Berry Bold 9700 once again (thanks to my provider they exchange for free when you get bugs) suddenly the Blackberry Desktop Software doesn't show my Outlook profiles anymore when I need to select them.
Already tried:
- Create now profile
- Copy profile
- Start BBDS as Admin
- Update BBDS and BBBold
Nothing worked.
Is there a way I can create my own sound profile? I'd like to create one for when I'm in the office that will make a short beep instead of the loud ringtone I normally use. All I see under profiles is sound and vibrate.
