BB Bold :: Time / Battery And Signal Icons Disappeared After Upgrades
Aug 29, 2012I installed some of the BB upgrades today and now all my icons at the top of my screen have disappeared. If I take out my battery and restart my phone they appear and after awhile they disappear. I am referring to the signal, battery time icons at top of the screen.

Jan 23, 2010Why can't RIM develop a Bold 9xxx with the body of the Bold 9000 with larger memory, Trackpad, better camera? They've done it with the Tour and Curve. Plus they've got all the parts available already, just need a little engineering to fit the trackpad and everything else. C'mon RIM. We know you can do it. I'm sure you'd sell millions of them.

Mar 4, 2010Quick question. I am starting a new Job and they are getting me a superbasic Perl. I need this for work and so I will be forking some dough out of my pocket to get one of the two following phones: Bold 9000 (I'll pay 100$ Canadian, not Us) Curve 8530 (pay 24.99$ Canadian). I am very used to the Iphone and HTC Touch Pro 2 (not trying to start a flaming/argument/anything else , its just what i'm used to). I am very used to browsing with the other phones and I have heard that BB phones are not up to par, so my expectations will be low. Out of the two phones however, does one perform better than the other (Curve 8530 vs Bold 9000)? Out of the two phones, which one do you recommend overall. I have read that the Bold 9000 even though it is older, it still outperforms the 8530...

Aug 30, 2010I dropped my BlackBerry Bold 9000 on the weekend and damaged the LCD screen. The device still works, but two thirds of the LCD is now white and there's what looks like an inkblot on the left side of the screen. I'd like to try to fix it, but don't really want to shell out a lot of $ to do so --- I'm a month away from upgrading.Does anyone have any suggestions, or perhaps a dead BlackBerry with a working screen that you're willing to part with? A DIY repair -- this is out of warranty anyway -- looks straightforward, but I'm not sure I want to spend the $100 or so for a new OEM part to replace the LCD screen.

Jan 26, 2010I have a bold 9000 and I can not connect to the internet. Carrier is AT&T and I live in the North East (NYC area). Worked fine up until yesterday (Jan 25). Now gmail, facebook, browser - none work. I've tried the battery pull, turning on/off the network, run a diagnostic test from mobile network options. In the mobile network test i get the volling anomolies "Blackberry PIN-PIN: No" and it says can't connect to my email (gmail).

Sep 18, 2010A few days ago I pulled my phone out of the holster and It was really hot and when i looked at it i realized it was off, and wouldnt turn back on. just a red light comes on like normal upon a battery pull but after it turns off the red light comes back on again once more then stays off for good. unless i plug it in then it comes on and goes off all the time. I got it powered back up yesterday but then it did it again. Today I plugged it in and I saw a picture of a battery come up on the screen showing it as empty, i was hoping that meant it might charge up. but no such luck. My main objective is just to get the phone up long enough to back up the info on the phone.

Feb 19, 2010I was just wondering. As it turns out that the 9700 and 9000 share the same type of battery, so how is it that the bold has a far superior battery life over the 9000? Some have reported that the 9700 can hold charge upto 2 days even after heavy usage. So i was wondering are the batteries really identical in every way as claimed? and if they arent is it possible to swap the battery of my 9000 and expect a longer battery life? coz the one im having right now only seem to hold charge for about 15hours with fair usage on a 5.0 OS Zain Kuwait.

Jul 2, 2010I am a BBerry newbie and I generally like the phone but am finding that upgrades are a huge bother.Every time I upgrade the software all my apps become disabled.I have to re-agree to the terms and conditions, re-enter the registration number (of course this means also looking it up), re-establish all my specialized setting, options, alarms, etc.This is a serius nuisance and makes the Bberry almost disfunctional for several days.I am in the middle of a call and need to check a setting and discover that I can't because I haven't re-set-up the app I need. Eg can't check a pdf because I haven't re-entered my registration for docs to go, haven't agreed to the terms, and haven't re-established its link to the desktop. Isn't there a way to upgrade the OS without losing everything else in the process?

Feb 15, 2010Having done a bit of research, I would just like to clarify things in respect to my phone which is a Nokia 6220 classic, running S60 3rd edition. I double checked the version against the list here:

And also in the phone itself. Am I correct to expect that running S60 gives me a good chance of getting the free navigation upgrades that have been talked about here? I'm not in any particular hurry; but if its likely that the upgrade is not coming, then I won't have to check back here every few days. Someone posted elsewhere that upgrades (for S60 devices?) were coming "in the first half of the year". Is that just rumour, or has Nokia said something official about it?

I use a mac, and I downloaded the recent upgrade (4.6.1.319) through the desktop manager. So why does the wireless upgrade never has any upgrades available?
IPhone :: Family Plan / Getting Two Upgrades Simultaneously
Jun 11, 2010I are currently with Verizon, but have given up on waiting for a Verizon IPhone and are going to make the switch. From what I can tell, it looks like since we will be new AT&T customers we will only be able to initially buy 1 IPhone 4. A bit of a problem, since we each want one. We were planning on going to the Apple store to sign up for a family plan (since apparently you can't sign up for a family plan via the Apple website) and reserve the phones.
Would it be possible to sign up for a family plan now, without buying any phones, and then buy two IPhones? Alternatively, is it possible that when we go to reserve we'll just be able to order two phones? Or is it possible to just sign up for two individual plans and then merge them into a family plan? Otherwise we may have a throw down over who get the phone!

Apr 14, 2010Has there been an upgrade at all for the software? I am still using Google Maps v2.3.2 and the Google website still says this is up to date.Google Maps did work once, with respect to the My Location feature. Now it just sits there trying to find my location and states its waiting for the GPS.Home Network doesn't work as it will constantly try to load but cannot find the other computers in my network. It will connect via Wi-Fi no problem though.It seems as if LG made this phone, but never did anything to support it. Am I the only person who feels this way about the phone?If it's of any relevance: I am on Telus Mobility in Ontario, Canada.

Mar 25, 2010When i reboot my phone after I installed a few upgrades to some applications, as usual.I was asked to reboot.It restarted the phone, however does not completly reboot back to my home screen. Instead, it is stuck on my Network Provider's screen...(o2 Welcome Screen)Im guessing it is still finishing the installation of some upgrades, but it has been like this all night.
I did a baterry pull, and took out the SIM Card and memory card, however it still seems to be stuck on the Network Provider's home screen.I had this issue last time, and I was advised from another forum to turn off the phone from the Off button on the phone, pull the battery and memory card, reinsert the battery without the memory card.This worked perfectly last time. Now, while the welcome screen is showing, if i press the off button, it will "Verify Security Software" and turn off.

Jun 6, 2010I have a Bold 9000 that keeps going to contacts no matter what icon I click on.I tried upgrading the OS and the phone worked fine for about an hour and then went straight back to only going to contacts. The same thing happens when I downgrade.I am unable to make calls or do anything from the contacts list. The phone is basically unusable.
I have tried the upgrade and battery pull and restore from back up.Does anyone have any suggestions of what this could be and how to fix it.
I'm using 5.0.0.681
