Mar 20, 2010I have os 4.6.0.282, platform 4.0.0.235 (telstra) on my bold 9000 Berry and when i connect it to the desktop manager it tells me there is a new O.S 5.0 available but when i goto download it, it says i must have an active Blackberry service subscription and it tells me to goto the blackberry site for more info. im not sure what it means by Blackberry service subscription but i use to have the blackberry e-mail and data on my plan but i took it off because i didnt use it all that much and tesltra is a rip off. is that what i need to have active to use OS 5.0..? if so is there a way for me to install OS 5.0 without putting the blackberry data service back on..?

I downloaded BB OS 5.0 for BB Bold 9000 for Zain-Kuwait Operator from Blackberry official site as I need Arabic support in it then I installed the exe file. Deleted the Vendor.xml from C:Program FilesCommon FilesResearch In MotionAppLoader and Started the Loader from the same folder above but it refuse to update to the 5.0 and if i clicked Browse and selected Blackberry.alx from the new software folder in C:Program FilesCommon FilesResearch In MotionSharedLoader Files9000M_v5.0.0.464_P5.2.0.41. It tells me This Apllication is not compatible with your device and cannot be loaded.

Jun 5, 2012my phone turns on and goes straight to "reload system:552" and that message is stuck on my screen, my phone wont do anything else. ive tried downloading the computer software and updating the software but that said i was 2+days into trying to resolve this problem and those steps have gotten me no where, and the desktop software wont fully download it says i need windows xp sp3 or newer and this computer has windows vista.

Jan 21, 2010I have a question on the "Memory" usage in BB Bold 9000 that i own.When I install APPS from BB App World, it shows me memory bar and now it has reached to 10 MB FREE (IN RED - which obviously means it is too low.)
Questions :
1) Does this mean that I wont be able to install more apps as those 10 MB will exhaust pretty soon?
2) Is there a way to install apps elsewhere if the above is true? I have a 8 GB MicroSD card installed. Would it work normally?

Nov 30, 2014I got an new old stock iPhone4 from a relative a couple of days ago and am now trying to set it up. Everything went smoothly until I tried connecting it to the computer. When I hook it up, iTunes tells me that the iPhone will only work with iTunes 11.1 or later versions. I have a Macbook Pro (not too old, Duocore, 4Gb Ram, etc.) with MacOS X 10.5.8. Apparently I can't install iTunes 11.1 or any later version on my operating system and I really don't want to upgrade to a new operating system just for my iPhone. Is there any way to sync my iPhone to iTunes without buying anything additional?

Jan 23, 2010Why can't RIM develop a Bold 9xxx with the body of the Bold 9000 with larger memory, Trackpad, better camera? They've done it with the Tour and Curve. Plus they've got all the parts available already, just need a little engineering to fit the trackpad and everything else. C'mon RIM. We know you can do it. I'm sure you'd sell millions of them.

I need this for work and so I will be forking some dough out of my pocket to get one of the two following phones: Bold 9000 (I'll pay 100$ Canadian, not Us) Curve 8530 (pay 24.99$ Canadian). I am very used to the Iphone and HTC Touch Pro 2 (not trying to start a flaming/argument/anything else , its just what i'm used to). I am very used to browsing with the other phones and I have heard that BB phones are not up to par, so my expectations will be low. Out of the two phones however, does one perform better than the other (Curve 8530 vs Bold 9000)? Out of the two phones, which one do you recommend overall. I have read that the Bold 9000 even though it is older, it still outperforms the 8530...

Aug 30, 2010I dropped my BlackBerry Bold 9000 on the weekend and damaged the LCD screen. The device still works, but two thirds of the LCD is now white and there's what looks like an inkblot on the left side of the screen. I'd like to try to fix it, but don't really want to shell out a lot of $ to do so --- I'm a month away from upgrading.Does anyone have any suggestions, or perhaps a dead BlackBerry with a working screen that you're willing to part with? A DIY repair -- this is out of warranty anyway -- looks straightforward, but I'm not sure I want to spend the $100 or so for a new OEM part to replace the LCD screen.

Aug 3, 2010I have just bought a new BB Curve 8520. On my desktop I have Windows 7, with Microsoft Outlook 2007. My e-mail is a Windows Live account through Office Live, which I believe is a web-based e-mail account. This means, in order for me to get e-mail in Outlook, I have to use the Microsoft Outlook Connector. When I go to sync using Desktop Manager, I first try and install intellisync through the Wizard and I get a "successfully installed message, but when I click "OK" the error: "Folder is no longer part of system data source or the folder could not be found" appears and I am never able to sync successfully, either through the USB or wirelessly. I have uninstalled and re-installed the Desktop Manager many times. However, I am receiving the e-mails through to my BB. But if I'm unable to sync Calendar, Tasks, or clear deleted e-mails etc. with my Desktop, the BB is not a lot of help or benefit to me.

In the mobile network test i get the volling anomolies "Blackberry PIN-PIN: No" and it says can't connect to my email (gmail).

Sep 18, 2010A few days ago I pulled my phone out of the holster and It was really hot and when i looked at it i realized it was off, and wouldnt turn back on. just a red light comes on like normal upon a battery pull but after it turns off the red light comes back on again once more then stays off for good. unless i plug it in then it comes on and goes off all the time. I got it powered back up yesterday but then it did it again. Today I plugged it in and I saw a picture of a battery come up on the screen showing it as empty, i was hoping that meant it might charge up. but no such luck. My main objective is just to get the phone up long enough to back up the info on the phone.

Some have reported that the 9700 can hold charge upto 2 days even after heavy usage. So i was wondering are the batteries really identical in every way as claimed? and if they arent is it possible to swap the battery of my 9000 and expect a longer battery life? coz the one im having right now only seem to hold charge for about 15hours with fair usage on a 5.0 OS Zain Kuwait.

Jun 2, 2011today I picked up a rough looking Bold 9000 and swapped in my spare parts onto it. The catch is, it was a Bell phone. I already unlocked it and it states it is on rogers network now. I don't want the Bell logo/wallpapers to load upon startup, so I though by installing FW Version 5.0.1626 from the blackberry Rogers download page it would fix it.The software update just finished(about 10-15 min) and I see a bell background and bell startup logo. Should the Rogers FW change this over? or are the bell wallpapers/startup logo's programmed into the phone itself and NOT the FW?I don't want to remove the Logo completely, I just rather have it say ROGERS like my old BB and have all the rogers software/configuration.
