My bold 9700 network mode is selected 3G & 2G. But only run with 2G or Edge network. When i select only the 3G network the telephone do not have signal. I contact the cell company and everything is ok.

I have taken the battery out and the sim and it still doesn't change back. I have also changed the network selection mode to manual but its still stuck. I can't use the internet and my emails don't come through either.

The phone is currently set on 1XEV network and even so i get two to three bars maximum everywhere i go. In the two days since ive had the phone I haven't had full service anywhere. Im in the New York area and I understand that Sprint's 3G network is extensive so I dont understand why i wouldn't have coverage unless it may be an issue with the headset.

It seems to be picking up Rogers network, when I am on the Telus network. It will not find the Telus network at all. I've tried pulling out my simcard, and resetting it. I've tried to manually select Telus, but it will not come up, it says: Mobile Network: *none* or Rogers.

I have a Bold 9000, bought new and unlocked about 3 years ago. It was working fine with all services like BBM and push email working flawlessly on Idea Cellular. While out of town, my Bold 9000 seemed to run out of battery and wouldn't turn on even after attempting to charge it. It would continue to flash 11110000, where 1 indicates a flash of red LED and 0 meaning LED off. Once home, I had to reload the OS on the device. I have the latest OS5 running of the system. And since the device was security wiped, the settings were set to the defaults. But the handset fails to register and instead of 'EDGE' it shows 'edge' or sometimes 'GSM'. I am however, able to make phone calls and send/receive text messages. So far I have tried the following: 1. Hard reset the device numerous times and after every change of settings, leaving the battery out for 2-10 minutes 2. Ensured that the firewall is off 3. Send registration message from Host Routing Table, which is empty 4. Manually set the APN to 'blackberry.net' in TCP/IP 5. Enabled Data, Data roaming and network is 2G only. I have called up Idea customer care and they ensure that my services are working fine and asked me to only perform the steps listed above. This was confirmed by using my Idea sim card on a friend's Torch 9800. Her handset is successfully registered using my sim card and can use BB services. I tried her Airtel sim card and my Bold still failed to register on that network.

First time it happened I had turn the phone to silent for a movie and when I came out to check my phone I had 450 new emails! I have checked everything on the web I can find, I wiped my phone and set up my emails for internet, uninstalled Blackberry Desktop Manager and made sure I'm NOT on the enterprize system. I have removed the Service Book items. I have made sure my email does not do any auto-replies.

View 4 Replies View Relateda bold 9700 and it is unlocked but orig from rogers. i am using it on fido and i have called them many times in the past 2 days to fix the problem i am having. i stopped using the phone for a few months as i was using an acer liquid phone. now i am back using the bb bold for various reasons and all i seem to be having is problems. the phone works when i am at work no problem but when i am at home all it does is search for a network. fido has tried adding an imei number to my account settings and we reset the phone from my end. this still has not fixed my service loss i have been getting. what settings should i have on the phone to stop this from happening? one of the reasons i had started to use this phone again was the fact that for some reason i had waken up in the am to look at my acer phone and it had told me that i had no service. so i took out the battery and the sim card and put it back in the phone and still i got no service. i put the sim card in the bb and i got the same thing. so i put the sim card into a non smartphone celly that i got and it worked fine now why would this be?
