I back-up my blackberry through desktop manager about once every two weeks. Yesterday, my phone crashed and gave me an error message, forcing me to update my software and wiping the phone in the process. It did this once before as well. When I went to go restore my blackberry after the update, the last backup file I could find was from May. I backed it up two days ago. I've backed it up a ton of times since last May. This doesn't make any sense.I've lost all my contacts, all my messages, everything that I gained in the last six months.Does anyone know where the files could be, or why Desktop Manager might have messed up like this and not actually been making backups when it said it was? I restored with the May backup and tried backing it up, and of course now it works and the file is in the Blackberry Backups folder. I've searched for .bbb files on my computer and found nothing beyond what's in the folder.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am following the instructions to copy the files from my xoom to a windows 7 PC (64 bit). It does not copy all the files and folders. For example when I do the select all instructed I only get 4 of the 13GB of data. I saw that it only copied the music files in the directory music, none of the sub-directories. I could then select all the folders in music and copy them over (none of my music on the xoom has any DRM). I was still missing some files. When I hook the xoom up via the USB cable I get the following mounted:
ComputerXoomInternal Storage
I can not drag Internal Storage to the folder created on the windows 7 pc, it is just a red circle with a line thru it. I can select all the directories/folders under Internal Storage, but it randomly picks which directories/files/sub-directories to copy.
Perhaps a problem with the win 7 pc driver?
Before I send the xoom off (and I have my packing box already) I would like to back it up completely.
I backed up to iTunes before updating iPhone, the update messed up the contacts list, and the backup file is missing from iTunes library.

Trying to do a backup in anticipation of iOS 4 and the backup process still is taking a long time in 9.2.Also, what steps can be taken to increase the speed of the backup? How would you remove items like photos, music, videos and then be able to easily put them back on the iPhone?

I have lost ~20 pictures I took during my family's 4th of July event this weekend. It was the first time they have met my 17 month old daughter. Normally I wouldn't sweat loosing pictures, but these are very important to me.It restored every picture up until the backup I did before I left Sunday morning. I have tried A few different backups, one I made before I erased and synced my phone(new computer, old one was my work computer, no access to it).

Are they there or were they not backed up? If they are there why weren't they restored and what can I do to restore them?

I have been backing up an iPhone 4 to iCloud for a while. I then purchased a new iPhone 4 as the old one was damaged, and set it up as a new phone. I haven't got around to setting up icloid backup yet. I now realise I want some data from an app in the old backup. Here is what I propose to do:
1. Backup new iPhone to iCloud
2. Restore new iPhone from old backup
3. Use the app's 'Email me my data feature' to get a copy of the DB
4. Restore new iPhone from new backup
Clearly I can only do this if during step 1 it doesn't overwrite the old backup. Can I have two separate backups?
I just updated to iOS 5.1.1 on my 3GS phone, previously using 5.0, while plugged into the computer and iTunes 10.6.3. I had the phone set to backup to iCloud, and ran a sync operation before updating.Does that not also create a backup? When the restore process began, it asked if I wanted to set up as a new phone or restore from backup. However the list of available backups did not have anything from today. The last one listed was from October 2011.So I cancelled that operation, went through the new phone setup and then it asked if I wanted to restore from iCloud. So I chose the most recent iCloud backup which was from around 6 AM this morning. Now it is in the process of downloading all my apps, pics, and perhaps music as well. I don't know but it's going to take HOURS to finish this.
Anyway I opened some apps that have already downloaded, and some app data appears to be intact. But other apps have nothing after October 2011. And I'm talking apps that have tracked my fitness and workout progress over the past 6 months, bike rides in the past few months, car fuel fillup and maintenance history since October, I'm talking LOTS of data that appears to be gone. What did I do wrong here? Did I not do what I should have done regarding backups? What is the point of backing up to iCloud if it's not going to back up all my app data?

I reflashed all the factory images to my Nexus 6P (except userdata), and then restored a TWRP backup of the data partition. This worked, my phone boots up and obviously has my installed apps, etc. But... on the Nexus 6P when you restart the phone you have to enter your lock pattern or PIN. My phone was previously configured with a pattern. It seems the TWRP data backup didn't backup the lock pattern, because it doesn't recognize my pattern.
My fingerprint is recognized, but on the Nexus 6P you still have to enter the lock pattern or PIN when you first reboot. So, I have no way to get into the phone. I tried setting a new lock screen password with Android Device Manager, but it doesn't work. I still get the screen asking for the lock pattern. Is there any way I can get into my phone without blowing away all the data?
I did a normal backup and just before it finished, a message came up saying the DM could not backup one Theme. I clicked OK and then it comes up with another message and it says Backup completed ... click OK .So is it just one theme that's odd and not being backed up? (which I don't mind) With (hopefully) the rest of my stuff backed up as usual.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have not yet gotten ahold of a Lumia 950 but plan to do so in the fairly near future. I've been reading this forum and find various comments about whether or not to restore from a WM 8.1 backup. My current phone is a Lumia 1020 running Denim.
My question is for those who have recommended a fresh install rather than a restore from backup. Are you referring only to the "Apps and Settings" backup and not the "text messages" backup?
I dont have bettery back up and whatever photos i am taking from my phone is not getting store in memory card as well as device memory.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy iPhone4 will not sync with my computer, giving me the message "iTunes could not backup the iPhone "xxx..." because the backup session failed." I have looked at article TS2529 and followed the steps. My iPhone will sync and backup with another computer with the same version of iTunes, so the problem must be with my computer or iTunes. I have previously synced and backed up fine with this computer, so I suspect there is an issue with corruption of iTunes data files. Should I re-install iTunes, or is there a way to delete the data for my phone that iTunes holds and try syncing again?

View 6 Replies View RelatedOne thing, among other things, that I think is missing is the ability to type in different font types....such as bold, italic...then times new roman, helvetica, comic sans, etc. With how powerful the iPhone is, don't you think it should be an option? I really don't think that is material for iOS5, but just as an extension of iOS4. Post what other things are missing....widgets, whatever...
