Jul 19, 2011does anyone know how to specify an app be downloaded, stored, or moved to the SD card, without using a 3rd party app? I just started using the droidx2, I bought a nice class 10 micro sd card, and all I can store on it are photos/videos/notes. im waiting for the tech manual from Motorola to arrive.

Sep 9, 2011I'm having issues when I move apps to the sd card using the installed software. The app icons disappear from the app menu and if I have a widget on my homescreen I get a message saying the app isn't installed. When I go into the manage app setting, I can see the apps but their icons don't show. I've had to uninstall them and then reinstall them to get them to work. I guess for now, I won't be moving apps to the sd card, but I'm trying to keep my internal memory free.

Apr 8, 2015I Have a new Galaxy S5 (with lollipop 5.0), coming from a S3 (with 4.3).
The "problem" I have is that in the Galaxy S5, in lots of Apps that are selected to be moved to SD Card, only a very small amount of the App really goes to the SD Card, while on the Glaxy S3 it moved the whole App (most of it anyway).
I post an example (language is Portuguese) with the game Shadowrun in both the S3 and S5. It happens with several other games.
Is the problem related to the lollipop (apps not updated yet)? Is it Sd card related (I just moved it from my S3 without reformatting the card)?

Jul 2, 2015Yesterday I made a light mistake. Because I bought a bigger sd card for my D6603. During the copy and installation of the new SD card in my phone, I used the "move to SD card" function. Several apps were transferred which was fine. Without thinking I reinstalled the SD card a second time. After this I realized my mistake. 14 apps were missing in my launcher. Most apps I could reinstall on the phone and then move to SD card to recover them. But only on app is missing. I dont know yet if it is a default app from 5.1.1. installation or a downloaded one.
1.) Do you have a picture of side 1 to 3 of an fresh installed D6603 with 5.1.1? So I can compare the installed apps.
2.) How can I found out the name of the missing app in a not rooted 5.1.1.?

Jan 10, 2015I want to add more music to my 1520, so I was thinking about getting a bigger microSD card. It's definitely outgrowing my 32GB one, so I have my sights on a 64GB (or maybe even a 128GB). I don't mind having to re-add my music to the new microSD. The major question here is: Can I move my apps (and data) from one microSD to another microSD smoothly and successfully?
I'd really don't want to have to re-download ALL of my apps onto the new microSD card. Downloading my apps to my phone's memory is not an option; the phone doesn't have enough free memory to accommodate my app catalog. I already know how I will do it...it's only a matter of if it can be done.

Jun 25, 2015I have a Galaxy S5 from Cricket/AIO wireless. It just recently updated to Lolly from KK. I want to move larger apps and such to the SD card as I have a 128GB in there. But whenever I try to move a file/app, it becomes unstable or doesn't work. In its place on the menu, is a blank/ghost space and says "app is not installed". In the app manager it is usually listed as "xyz app.samsung.com" or such. I am still making payments to it so I cant fully root it or jailbreak it but I cant load the apps I want/need. Or is there a way to load larger apps directly to the SD?
Also as a secondary problem, moving pctures from internal to SD, I get a ghost image in Gallery and cant access the picture. Did it delete? Can I get it back somehow? Do I need a forensics kit on my computer?

Mar 5, 2015I have a Sprint S5 running stock Lollipop. I have moved any apps that can be to the SD card. Anytime those apps are updated, they move back to the device storage. I got this phone shortly before Sprint pushed the Lollipop update so I cannot say for sure if I was having this issue prior to Lollipop.

Dec 9, 2011I have commented on this many times.. Am I the only one that is seeing this happen.. It doesn't always do it but it will do it in the stock browser and Dolphin HD to.. Instead of the cursor moving backwards to remove misspellings it moves forward.. I've yet found a browser that works with G-Mail properly..Stock browser looks like i'm in a mobile mode but no longer see the dbug function any more.. It looks the same on the browser as using the gmail stock app that came with the Xoom... I hate it.. Not a real Gmail experience to me, too many functions missing.. Anyone have any suggestions as to seeing and using gmail on the Xoom as it would look and perform on the laptop.. HD Browser won't even allow me to reply to an email.. It won't pop up the keyboard no matter what i try, looks good on the browser untill you touch something then everything starts shaking and jerking around

Jun 2, 2011I got my Xoom primarily to access my database and bookmarked & annotated PDFs during client home visits and SS hearings without bringing a laptop. Of course, the Verizon salesperson said I could do all that. But, I could not find a PDF reader that retains bookmarks . My files are sometimes 400-600 or more pages long. I can't scroll through page by page to quickly find what I need using docs to go.
I set up remote desktop for Xoom (phonemypc) as an alternative. This works great(except for brief lags in response times) but I have to enlarge the view on my Xoom to read the remotely controlled monitor screen. I can't see a whole page at once because of this. If, though, I try to scroll in any of the remote desk top views, the Xoom screen moves. I don't want my Xoom screen to move. I want to move within the program on my remote desktop.
Will a bluetooth mouse enable me to use scroll bars without moving the Xoom screen? Or is there an app or method for stopping the Xoom screen from moving when I try to slide a scroll bar on my remote desktop screen? (trying to pull up the traditional right click menu on a scroll bar is a hit and miss experience and it takes multiple tries to get where I need to go in a document--it's too slow).

Jan 4, 2012I have a Wi-Fi Xoom with 32G of internal storage and Android 3.2. When I insert a 16G SanDisk Class 4 micro SD card and power up,I am unable to mount the card. I go to Settings>Storage, and get an error message, with the option to Force Close or Send Report. Most of the time, the app closes itself with no action on my part. If I insert the SD card while the Xoom is powered on, I get a different problem. I am able to get to the storage setting, and there is an option to mount the card. However, pressing on that option doesn't cause anything to happen. The card is formatted as FAT32. I have copied some files to it on my PC, and the files are there when I connect the card back to the PC. I've checked the board here, and not seen this problem addressed.

Oct 30, 2011We bought a Xoom to use on vacation instead of taking a laptop. I want to download photos and videos taken with my Canon Camera into my Xoom. I have the adapter for the Canon that allow me to convert the SDHD to a Micro SD, so that I can pop in ito the Xoom. I can view the photos fronm the Canon card on the Xoom, but it won't let me download them into the device. I don't want to have to go thru a computer to do this. So is it possible to download from the SD card onto the Xoom.
Also, when we watch the videos that were recorded on the Canon with the Xoom, they are at a slowed down speed. Would seem that if they were actually downloaded to the Xoom, it would take care of this issue.
I do not want to use the Xoom to take these photos. My Canon camera is the device we will use to capture the photos for multiple reasons.
