Jun 23, 2014I have a 4s 16gb. I am unable to run the update to iOS7 as I cant back up my phone. So I dont have any access to facetime and some of the new apps. It says it is too big to back up to icloud and then when I plug it into my (new) laptop it is asking me to connect to the original backup PC which is no longer in existence?Â
How I would do this as looking to get a new iphone5 handset but need to back everything up before I can get new handset and restore?Â

I uninstalled and reinstalled many times.Read many forums and even wiped the phone and reinstalled.still no app world. May 12, 2011Still seems to require the phone fields even though I don't have a Moto phone (just a Wifi Xoom). Also, the serial number selection is not clear since 3G users seem to use the MEID, but I've been asked for my Wifi MAC address before. This time I tried to simply enter my "serial number" as stated in the Xoom status screen. But I can't get past #1 issue above, it is trying to require me to enter a Moto phone as well.

Jan 30, 2014I've had a Lumia 1020 for a while. I've been connecting it to a Win7 desktop to offload pictures at work, and I connect it to a Win8.1 desktop at home. Today, I plug in my 1020 to my Win7 machine and it doesn't show up in Windows Explorer. I reboot the machine, still won't show up. I go to devices and printers in control panel and I delete the driver, replug in my phone, and upon discovery, it's now trying to install a Lumia 909, which fails, BTW... So I can't offload picts to my Win7 box. I need to try it with my Win8.1 machine.

Dec 12, 2014About a week ago, my iPhone 5S started acting very strange. Whenever I go into my "Messages" app, it either shows up as a blank white page or shows previous messages but the screen freezes on the page. Sometimes I am able to text but then it starts freezing again. I am unable to call anyone. My battery is drastically draining. My phone just decides to freeze randomly and will turn off by itself. When double clicking the home button to "close" apps, my phone freezes. I have tried to update to the new IOS 8.1.2, but whenever I choose the "agree" option, my phone doesn't do anything.

May 21, 2015Just wanted to ask, after the latest update. It feels like you really need to press down on the power button to get the shut down menu to show up.If i don't press down hard enough or right, the shut down menu shows up then it locks and the lock screen shows up. it's quite straight forward, and I don't remember having to hold down the power button for that long for it to shut down.

Nov 15, 2011I have discovered that some of my text messages are not being sent or received. Every text shows that it sends and shows a time within a few seconds. I would say I am 90% working fine, but important texts are falling through the cracks.Text messages I send with more than 160 characters auto blend into one message natively. Recipients are only receiving part #2.They never have received the first part on dozens of tries. Always the case from home and work. I'm connected to wifi at home and work. Oddly enough, I was able to disconnect from wifi and was able to send both parts of sms messages 4 out of 5 times. When i connected back to wifi, still only the 2nd part of the sms.A few of the regular sms messages that I confirmed didn't go through were more than 100 characters, but less than 160. So far, every small or low character count message has worked.
Didn't receive a couple of texts that I was able to verify were 100+ character texts. eems to be a larger message problem, but every picture I have sent has successfully gone through.Installed Go SMS tonight. Still had the issue when sending multipart texts that only text #2 came through.I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with Sprint today. We did a battery pull and he did a phone refresh remotely. I tried a test text while he was on the phone. I sent a 2 parter to my wife and it was received. I thought the problem was fixed, but the very next 2 part text only showed the 2nd part of the message. I have not been able to get a 2 parter to go through since.

Apr 29, 2012I have been backing up an iPhone 4 to iCloud for a while. I then purchased a new iPhone 4 as the old one was damaged, and set it up as a new phone. I haven't got around to setting up icloid backup yet. I now realise I want some data from an app in the old backup. Here is what I propose to do:
1. Backup new iPhone to iCloud
2. Restore new iPhone from old backup
3. Use the app's 'Email me my data feature' to get a copy of the DB
4. Restore new iPhone from new backup
Clearly I can only do this if during step 1 it doesn't overwrite the old backup. Can I have two separate backups?

Jun 27, 2012I just updated to iOS 5.1.1 on my 3GS phone, previously using 5.0, while plugged into the computer and iTunes 10.6.3. I had the phone set to backup to iCloud, and ran a sync operation before updating.Does that not also create a backup?When the restore process began, it asked if I wanted to set up as a new phone or restore from backup. However the list of available backups did not have anything from today.The last one listed was from October 2011.So I cancelled that operation, went through the new phone setup and then it asked if I wanted to restore from iCloud. So I chose the most recent iCloud backup which was from around 6 AM this morning. Now it is in the process of downloading all my apps, pics, and perhaps music as well. I don't know but it's going to take HOURS to finish this.
Anyway I opened some apps that have already downloaded, and some app data appears to be intact. But other apps have nothing after October 2011. And I'm talking apps that have tracked my fitness and workout progress over the past 6 months, bike rides in the past few months, car fuel fillup and maintenance history since October, I'm talking LOTS of data that appears to be gone.What did I do wrong here? Did I not do what I should have done regarding backups? What is the point of backing up to iCloud if it's not going to back up all my app data?

I just plugged my phone into a USB connected to my sisters MacBook and it backed up perfectly! Is this something wrong with my computer?

Huawei Nexus 6P :: TWRP Data Backup Didn't Backup Lock Pattern
Nov 17, 2015I reflashed all the factory images to my Nexus 6P (except userdata), and then restored a TWRP backup of the data partition. This worked, my phone boots up and obviously has my installed apps, etc. But... on the Nexus 6P when you restart the phone you have to enter your lock pattern or PIN. My phone was previously configured with a pattern. It seems the TWRP data backup didn't backup the lock pattern, because it doesn't recognize my pattern.
My fingerprint is recognized, but on the Nexus 6P you still have to enter the lock pattern or PIN when you first reboot. So, I have no way to get into the phone. I tried setting a new lock screen password with Android Device Manager, but it doesn't work. I still get the screen asking for the lock pattern. Is there any way I can get into my phone without blowing away all the data?

Jun 16, 2010I did a normal backup and just before it finished, a message came up saying the DM could not backup one Theme. I clicked OK and then it comes up with another message and it says Backup completed ... click OK .So is it just one theme that's odd and not being backed up?
