The iOS music app on my phone repeatedly is losing playback position for audiobooks. I go to the Music app > Audiobooks > BookTitle and get to a menu where I see part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4, and part 1 says, below the title/author listing, saysÂ
8:53:58Â 6hr 49 min leftÂ
And I touch the title to start it playing, and it shows the little red marker on the progress bar at about the right position for 2 hours having been played, and as often as not, there is a little flash and then the red marker is back at the far left side and it starts playing again at the beginning. Â
These are books from various sources--today's example was a Librivox download, others have been books on CD, and checking in iTunes verifies that they have been correctly coded as audiobooks and 'remember playback position' is automatically checked.Â
It's a PITA hunting through an 8 hour long recording with only the crude control of the little progress bar and 15 second skip forward/back to find the spot I left off.Â
It doesn't happen with the same titles in iTunes on the computer.Â
I have several audiobooks and for some reason, none of them will sync to my iPhone. When I look for them in the "audiobooks" section of my iPhone, nothing is there. I have "selected audiobooks" checked in iTunes just like allways. I've tried syncing while directly plugged into my Macbook and wirelessly to no avail.
I just don't understand how Apple handles audiobooks. I have a variety of books which have been either ripped from CDs or downloaded from Audible. The ripped books are in my library by following the steps below:
1. Insert disk; join tracks; hit import
2. When the whole book is on the hard drive, select all files; get info; change media type to audiobook
3. Create smart playlist with two criteria - 1) album name; 2) plays=0
When I plug in my phone, under the book tab, the playlist/book will appear in either "Audiobooks" or "Include Audiobooks from Playlists." Sometimes this will be in one; sometimes the other; sometimes both. Can't figure out a pattern.
When I synch my phone, my books often, but not always, show up under the Audiobook icon. Sometimes they show up under "Playlist" and then under "books."
how to make this more dependable? why itunes separates the two locations for audiobooks?
I have certain audiobooks that will NOT delete from my iphone. They all happen to be WMA audiobooks from Overdrive Media Library. When connecting my iphone to itunes, they were visible under "Books". I deleted them and they were removed (but only from books in iphone in itunes). [Side note- these audiobooks were never in my itunes library. Through Overdrive Media Console, they transfer directly to your iphone.]Upon searching on my iphone in the "spotlight search", the audiobooks still came up in search results, and i could still play them. So they are still trapped on my iphone! Interesgtingly, these trapped audiobooks are not located in any traceable location. They are no where in Music anywhere( ie artists, song, album, etc). And they are not in Audiobooks under the More section(not in compilations, not in podcasts, etc). They only come up in "spotlight search".
And the best part, after hours of trying to figure this out, I accidently wiped out all my music and other normal functioning audiobooks (i was experimenting with "Sync", thinking maybe that would help), and everything was wiped out, EXCEPT THE 3 WMA Audiobooks that i was trying to get rid off! They are still on my iphone- like cockroaches.
I have several audio books on my iPhone 5s; I am using iOS 7.1.1. I could find the books when I was using iPhone 4s. I have not been able to find them since migrating to the iPhone 5. The iTunes interface on my computer indicates that the books are on my iPhone. I searched for info on finding them, and was pointed to the Music app. I have not been able to find them there either.
I'd really like to see some option for keeping the display on while using the Music player so that if I hear something interesting I don't necessarily have to handle the phone to find out what it is.Even if you only made this available under AC power that would be better than now.
After my latest software update i've lost the search option for the music? Now i have some letter apearing on the side when i scroll but that dosent help at all comparing the search option i mean common i have like 6gb of music?

How can I re-install music player in phone to get that option? I have lots of music in phone, but it cannot find anything. Everytime when I open Music Player, it search for music, then says nothing found.
Nokia E72-1, software version 054.005.I can't see the option to refresh my music library. If I go in the Music Library, in the Options menu I have:Go to Now playing Go to Music store Music Library Details I've just synched my phone with iTunes by using Nokia Multimedia Transfer, and the files have been copied on my memory card under Sound filesiTunes Music and they play correctly from the file manager, but there's not way to "see" them in the Music Library. Note that the Nokia website explicitly says that the Music Library should be refreshed after a sync.[URL]...
I updated to version 3.0.0.284, and there is no option to sync music! Is this intentional?
Also, Ovi doen't delete my music on my Nokia N8 phone (I thought maybe that will enable sync option again?) I press delete it opens up the thing where it says it is deleting and then when I refresh all my music just comes back!
Im want that my music purchases and ringtones get automaticly downloaded to my other devices. I seen online that i should go to Settings/store and activate music, the thing is i dont got that option on any of my mobile devices. Why is that and what can i do to get this up and running?
After the software update this weekend, my audiobooks no longer sync to my iPhone 4. They used to no problem. I can still listen to them via the Audible App.
I used to be able to create playlists on my iPhone by going into the Music app, the Playlists, then choosing +New Playlist. Â
That option doesn't exist anymore. When I go into playlists, only playlists I have synced to my phone from iTunes are there, no option to create a new one one the run. What happened to it?
I have had similar issues in the past when I had to deal with itunes match. I havent even turned it on with the new restore, yet still my audio books will sync and transfer but dont show under my music app. Anyone else having this issue?
My iPhone has stopped playing sound, the sound is on and it will ring out loud but when I go to play music you don't get the option to turn the sound on, I had been playing my music earlier on today and it worked but I then upgrade to 5.1.1 and it has now stopped working. Is there a way to go back to the upgrade that actually works?
I have used the iphone to listen to my audiobooks since I got my first iphone. only about 6 will sync. I can check them and it stays checked but they will not transfer. This included some of the ones that I have had on it before. I have even tried to sync all audio books, but only the same few will transfer. During transfer there is no mention of the checked books
I'd like to know the best way to transfer CD audiobooks to the Atrix. The method I've been using is to:
1) Rip the audiobook CD's to iTunes on my PC. 2) Setup playlist in iTunes for the audiobook, 3) Use MediaLink to transfer selected playlists to the microSD card on the Atrix.
One problem I've run into is that MediaLink seems "glitchy" in transferring the audiobooks to the phone. Sometimes it takes several or more attempts until the transfers complete successfully with MediaLink. Any less cumbersome method to transfer audiobooks to my Atrix (running Froyo 2.2.2).
I am trying to listen to an audiobook via my phone. The audiobook is in 45min mp3 files and I have used them fine from the computer and from other audio devices. However when I transfer them on to the 5130 I am only getting the first 4:50 of each file.Any ideas why this might be happening? and how to correct it so I can get back into my book?
I have a blackberry torch 9800 on Vodacom South Africa and everything is working fine with the phone, I have no worries there. I would just like to find out. Can I use my universal bluetooth headset to listen to audible audiobooks? I have connected my bluetooth headset to my phone with succes and succesfulle receives calls on it, it works fine. However the moment i want to listen to music or audiobooks on my headset it plays through the phone speaker. Is it possible to listen to music with the headset?
I have successfully downloaded .mp3 audiobook files from the library via OverDrive Media console to my new Torch but I can't download books in .wma format.I see that older Blackberry devices do not support .wma files and they must be converted but I bought the 9800 because I thought it supported .wma files.I am running 6.0 bundle 278 (v6.0.0.141, platform 6.4.0.64)The error from OverDrive says that RIM does not support this file type.If it isn't supported, what 3rd party conversion tool can you recommend?
Tthe tittle sayz it all! I have music and audiobooks in mp3 format and when i choose TRACKS they apear all togheter. filtering them out by playlist isnt a option because i update my music frequently and i dont have time 2 insert any new song in a "MY MUSIC PLAYLIST". in the manual it sayz that when u select TRACKS it only shows you the music without the ringtones and that's not true.
