I'm new to the iphone world. I have a .wav file on my PC that I want to use as a text tone on my phone (it's short enough). Can I email file to my phone (gmail), open it up on phone, and save it somehow to the phone, so that I can use it as a tone? I was able to do it that way on my Android.
I have a iPhone 4S and sometimes when I send a text it plays the sent sound 2 times, even though I'm below the 160 character limit. It only does this sometimes though, depending on who im sending it to.
I recently bought a ringtone from iTunes for my 4S. The ringtone works as a regular ringtone but will not work as a text ringtone. All the other ringtones I have work as text tones. How do I get this 1 ringtone to work as a text tone?
I see all the default ringtones and the ones i have created myself in the menu for choosing textones but not the ringtones i have purchased from itunes.
Note - these ringtones were purchased before it was possible to buy other tones separately I want to set the "Yoda - Text Message" ringtone as my textone but it does not appear in the menu.
I've bought a couple SFX tones from the iTunes Store directly from my phone and assigned them as my ringtone and text tones. They work fine until I turn the phone off and back on.   Then they disappear from the settings list.   I backed up my phone after purchasing them last time and I have them in my library and it shows that they're in my tones on my phone from iTunes on my Mac... but they aren't showing on my phone anywhere.  Â
I purchased a ringtone from itunes. It is in the ringtone section. How I assign it to a text tone? Also, I have alot of itunes I purchased and want to set them as ringtones or assign to my friends. What is the easier way to do this?
Having troubles with my text tones. I downloaded an album of tones and they are now in my music library, not under my tones? When I unsync and then re-sync I am still left with the tones I had before? When I download a text tone as an individual it works just fine?
Somehow my iPhone 4s has changed my text alert tone from horn to minuet and when I try to change it back it won't let me, I go into setting and select text tone but its locked and so are the other options - why and how can I change it?
I want to have a custom text tone, but I can't figure out how. I've got ringtone and notification, but neither of those affect the actual tone when I get a text.
A few days ago, the text message tone mysteriously disappeared from my phone, along with the little envelope that would pop up on my screen to let me know there was a text message. I only know if I have a new message by going into the messaging screen and checking my inbox.
So I have a few contacts, such as Twitter and ESPN that I don't need to hear a tone for each time. I'd like to set their tone to silent, like I had on my iPhone. Is there a way I can do this? Whenever I go into add another field>messaging tone there is no "silent" for me to select.
I couldn't find a thread with this specific problem. I have certain contacts that I have specific ringtones for when they call. But I don't want to have a custom text ringer for those people. Whenever I set a custom ringer for those contacts, it automatically changes the text ringer as well. Is there any way to only give them a custom call-tone and leave all text messages as the same tone?
Ive had this 9360 a few weeks. The message tone/vibrate/led flash used to work but hasnt for a few days now. Ive checked all the profile settings and i havent got any contact alerts set up. Why isnt it working?
I have some new tones I have downloaded on my BlackBerry Tour 9630. I have tried to set a different tone on an incoming text message but it still plays the one pre-loaded on it. How can I can I change the text message tone to a different one that I have downloaded, I have tested the tone on incoming call, but I would like it on text message because I have the tone I want on a call.
So, I noticed that when you go to edit contacts, you can customize the "MESSAGE TONE" for each contact you would like. To me, I assumed this meant that if they text you, whatever tone you selected would play. However, this does not appear to be the case. I set my wife to have a custom message tone that I transferred from my PC, however, when she texts me, the default text message noise happens.
Is there no way to customize specific tones for specific contacts? I just want to customize it so, let's say, if I don't have a second to grab my phone instantly, I will know who it is based on what tone that plays.
I'm wondering if it's the default text message program, the VERIZON MESSAGES+, that is not allowing this feature to work properly.
Need getting custom text tones to work? Do I need to download another text app? If so, what one would you recommend? This default VERIZON MESSAGES+ seems a bit bland.
For the last few days (or weeks?) my Nokia E5 has an annoying problem: the text/SMS message tone is not played when receiving SMS. It won't vibrate either.
I tried changing the message tone to Nokia default, but didn't work. I also tried deleting all text messages in my Inbox, but also didn't work. I have restarted my phone numerous times. But unable to solve this problem
My iphone 4s has been updated to the iOS 5.1.1. Since then it will not play music or give a text message alert sound. We have restored the phone, we have toggled the mute switch, and we have rebooted using the home button and power down and nothing has worked. The volume does not adjust, there is no sound bar when pressing the sound control buttons along the side of the phone. When double tapping the home button on lock screen there is no sound bar. It will ring on incoming calls and the Speaker phone does work while in call. All of the volume controls will work correctly when the headphones are in music plays, text tone works, video sound works but as soon as they are removed it reverts back.
Why is my IPhone removing the .wav file that is being sent via text message to my phone? If I send it via an email it comes in but not via a text message sent to my phone number.
