For the last few days (or weeks?) my Nokia E5 has an annoying problem: the text/SMS message tone is not played when receiving SMS. It won't vibrate either.
I tried changing the message tone to Nokia default, but didn't work. I also tried deleting all text messages in my Inbox, but also didn't work. I have restarted my phone numerous times.But unable to solve this problem
I have latest firmware 081.003 RM-530
I am facing problem message tone not working either vibration after restart the cell its working perfectly but after few hours same problem again come messege tone not ringing ...
I have seen same solved topic threads on this forum but I am not able to find permanent solution. some guys said do hard reset I have done this but same problem exist.
whenever i receive messages on my e72 phone.....at first i will be able to hear the message tone but after a while i wont be able to hear the message tone. Then wen i switch off and switch on my phone, i wil be able to hear my tone back. So i thought at first that it might be a software problem....so i updated my software to 071.004....so far it was working fine and now sdnly its back to how it used to be....has anyone faced a similar problem to mine?

And my phone E72 bugged somehow and the tiny icon when your text messages are being sent out is still there and won't disapear.The icon is just a tiny up arrow with a small bracket under it. The icon won't go away I tried restarting my phone many times its stil there. Now when I send out a text message I don't know when it is done sending because the icon never disapears.

I've got a Nokia E6-00. Sending messages and calling works fine. Receiving messages is a problem. When I ask someone to send me a text message, it doesn't come in either until I reboot my phone or until I open "sim messages". I've removed F-secure, rebooted several times and tried other sim cards from other providers. The problem is always present, regardless of simcard, provider or message length. I have enough memory left on the phone and the sim card.

However the "Ok" button is missing on the left lower corner of the screen while "Back", on the right, is active. I can type in recipients, though this is tedious when I need to select multiple recipients. The problem i am facing is, the message shortcut key which is on the keypad of this Phone, is not working properly. When i do long press to open new text msg, it sometimes doesnt opens any thing and sometimes even open messaging and then close it. At a certain angle i have to apply a little more force in order to operate it properly. wheather its a hardware problem or any sort of dust particles have emerged inside the keypad resulting in loose contact of the button and the motherboard.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi installed the latest update 071.004 on e72, now text message doesn't work properly. i have to switch off and on once to recieve the msgs. most of the msgs i send will go n sit in outbox. i have to manually select each one and select send option in outbox to send them. Also found problems with bluetooth. send via bluetooth option doesn't work. it doesn't even search for the the devices available.I am also getting 'memory full-close some applications' error in messaging and also in the browsers.my phone has about 191Mb of free space and mem card(8gb) 5.6gb free.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo, I noticed that when you go to edit contacts, you can customize the "MESSAGE TONE" for each contact you would like. To me, I assumed this meant that if they text you, whatever tone you selected would play. However, this does not appear to be the case. I set my wife to have a custom message tone that I transferred from my PC, however, when she texts me, the default text message noise happens.
Is there no way to customize specific tones for specific contacts? I just want to customize it so, let's say, if I don't have a second to grab my phone instantly, I will know who it is based on what tone that plays.
I'm wondering if it's the default text message program, the VERIZON MESSAGES+, that is not allowing this feature to work properly.
Need getting custom text tones to work? Do I need to download another text app? If so, what one would you recommend? This default VERIZON MESSAGES+ seems a bit bland.
I've got a Nokia 2730 classic. It is set to "Silent" on the display so it vibrates on receiving a text message which is what I want it to do. However it also still bleeps twice. How do I turn off this additional bleep so that "silent" actually means "silent"?!!
