E72 suddenly does not vibrate or gives out a tone upon receiving a SMS.I checked the profile I used and the vibration and message tone were checked.I tried restoring the phone to factory settings but the problem still persist.Not sure where the problem lies though. When people call me, my phone does vibrate and the ring tone plays.

View 8 Replies View Relatedwhenever i receive messages on my e72 phone.....at first i will be able to hear the message tone but after a while i wont be able to hear the message tone. Then wen i switch off and switch on my phone, i wil be able to hear my tone back. So i thought at first that it might be a software problem....so i updated my software to 071.004....so far it was working fine and now sdnly its back to how it used to be....has anyone faced a similar problem to mine?

I tried changing the message tone to Nokia default, but didn't work. I also tried deleting all text messages in my Inbox, but also didn't work. I have restarted my phone numerous times.But unable to solve this problem
I brought my E7 middle of May this year. I was happy in a few weeks, then the phone totally hanged. It was sent to service, and the whole hardware was changed to new.
Now it have worked very good in a long time, with only small issues that could be related to that i do many tasks a time etc that may do it slower and hanging in a few secs a time.
Middle of the day today, the phone started with a very confusing thing. I sent SMS, and i didnt understand that the reciver dosnt answared me. I restarted the phone. Now i got a lot of new SMS. I answared. It took a while, so i restarted the phone again, and then i got the answare.
And a rare thing. When i got the SMS when phone is on again, is that the time of reciving SMS was WHEN the phone WAS on before i restarted. So the phone gets the SMSes, but dosnt show or give any sign about that i have new!
I was updated my E72 mobile software via ova suit after then my mobile is not allowed any outgoing and incoming calls but I can receive only messages anybody can help for this problem and I was check my Simi to use other mobile that time it was working so my network side is no problem problem is only on my mobile

Also, when i dial a number using the keypad, there is a delay, like, it takes 1-3 seconds between each number i press to display on the screen. How do I change the email tone to a custom tone?
This is only the second time this has happened since I got the phone a few weeks back.I have all of my messages set to different specific ringtones. My SMS to one, my MMS to one, my email to one etc. So tonight I rcvd an email and instead of playing the tone it always plays that it is set for (one of the generic preloaded notifier tones)... it played my SMS tone (which is an actual song tone) to alert me to my email.
And NO I didnt recieve a new SMS at the same time. That folder is empty and the only red star alert was on my email envelope. Like I said this is very, very few and far between but why would this happen??I went over every one of my sound/alert settings and they are all the way they should be set for my liking.
I have bought a Nokia E71 from a friend and when trying to download something from the Ovi store it asks for my user name and password, but says my user name and password are wrong and won't connect. I am using the same ones I use to connect to Ovi on my computer and it accepts them OK. Could this be because the previous owner's user name and password have been stored somewhere on the phone and as a security measure it won't let me in with my user name and password?
Does anyone know what I can do to be able to log in to Ovi on my phone so that I can download an application? The one I want at the moment is Sports Tracker so that I can check how many miles I do when going for a walk. I could perhaps find it online and download straight from their website, but I do really need to be able to download things through Ovi if required.
My problem is, when the phone goes in an area where there's no service, the 3G icon shows up in the right top corner, but when I go back to the area that has service, the 3G icon won't go away and I can't make any calls nor receive. only solution is to turn off the phone and turn back on. can you help me about that, how I can receive service again without restarting the phone?
