Wit the new IOS my keyboard in messages doesn't want to acknowledge all of my finger taps. It's random but the most consistent part is the "Send" button. I either have to pull the keyboard down or orient it to portrait for it to work. I have reset the phone a few times but it is still there. Occasionally when I am going from portrait to landscape the recording will start for no reason also.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to keep the display in landscape view when you slide the keynboard open? I have a car cradle that I used with my 9700. I now use the cradle with my Torch. The Torch is thicker than the 9700, so I have to slide the Torch open and slide just the keybord section in it fits nice aNd tight. I want to be able to swivel the cradle to allopw landscape view, but since the keyboard is open the screen won't change from portraight to landscape view.

However, When I'm going through my contacts and I need to type in the search field, I turn the phone on it's side but it does not give me the qwerty keyboard. Can anyone confirm this? Just trying to make sure AT&T didn't give me a bad phone or something.

However if I then exit the keyboard or turn the phone into its portrait position any entered text then appears. The problem happens ntermittently and disappears if I restart the phone. I cannot view my text messages in the regular view, ie I have to turn my phone sideways to view the messages and to text. Software is up to date, this just came on randomly in the last week. Normally you can 'shake' the phone and the view angle changes. Won't work for texting, works for emails.....

I've recently got an HTC One M8, and when I try to write a long text message, thats long enough to not fit all on the one window (so it has to scroll), it scrolls so that the bottom line of text is just above the on-screen keyboard. But THEN when i type, the auto suggest words appear above the keyboard, and cover over what I'm typing so that I can't see it, which is really annoying and means every word I have to click back and forth between the editing screen and the other screen to get the view of what I just wrote back.
PS I just noticed it only happens in landscape orientation. I always write texts this way since the keys are bigger and my hands are large. In portrait orientation it works fine.
So now my question is, is is possible to write long texts in landscape format?
I have noticed with the RAZR that when composing a text in landscape mode you actually have to click "done" and then "send" but not if the phone is positioned normal. Can this be changed? I tend to forget to hit send thinking I did when I select done.

I was at a soccer game did some running around and went to use maps on my phone on the way home and apps were stuck in landscape. No big deal for the Maps app. When I got home all apps were opening in landscape. I powered off the phone and back on and now they will not go to landscape. Does my phone need to be re-calibrated?Phone is brand new. I'm running Lollipop since day one.

When viewing photos, videos, websites, etc. my phone used to smoothly rotate the screen from portrait to landscape view (and vice versa) as a single "window". So as I'd tilt the phone and whatever I was viewing would remain on the screen and rotate with the phone. All smartphones have this effect so I hope I'm explaining it clearly. Now it doesn't have that rotating effect any more. I can still view things in portrait and landscape, but instead of rotating with the phone as I tilt it, whatever I'm looking at on the screen disappears from one view and reappears in the other. Although the functionality is still there, the look and feel and overall experience is diminished.
I've checked the settings and screen rotation is turned off. I've turned it on and off while rotating the screen and the problem remains. I've powered down my phone and removed the battery a bunch of times and nothing's changed. I even reset the phone in safe mode and that didn't work either. Is there another setting that turns this effect on and off? This problem just appeared out of the blue the other day.
I cannot even use the keyboard to type in the password so that I can reset it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedTwo nights ago when I was in the middle of typing a txt message the keyboard clicks stopped sounding? I've checked the mute slider which is not on mute. Also when I press up or down on the volume controls, no bars appear to show the volume level, just the image of the bell without a line through it. I have tried a hard reset and checked all the volume settings in sounds but they are all switched to on. When I had headphones plugged in and tried txting I could hear the clicks and the lock sound. I have also cleaned the USB connector with a soft toothbrush...?? My macbook is currently with a computer engineer as he is trying to transfer data from my old laptop so cannot connect to my itunes.

Whereas in the past (like even early this afternoon) I would be able to see emails or texts - or if no email or texts it would say 'No messages' - I cannot open either emails or text and therefore cannot create, read, or anything else. The scroll button is inop after clicking on email or text and I must it the exit button to regain control of the scroll button.

When I say wrong, I mean this, i will use the B key for an example. The B key, when pressed does a "B" like its suposto, but the shift key does a _ But the orange other symbol on the key is a %. Can I correct this without sending it back to nokia, because I'd rather not sent my phone off for more weeks on end.
