I just recently upgraded my Tour to OS 5.0 and the first thing I noticed was that the keyboard lock feature wasn't working the way it's supposed to. As a matter of fact, it's working in quite the opposite way. There used to be a setting that allowed the keyboard to be automatically locked upon holstering. I don't see that option anymore because now when I holster it, it doesn't lock. If I manually lock it and then holster it, it becomes unlocked.

I managed to get it out after flashing the device with the vanilla image and the latest OS following the instructions on the Meamo WIKI: https://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_tablet_firmware Flashing through windows didn't work (almost sent it to Nokia) but booting fom an Ubuntu USB stick and flash the N900 did do the trick at the end. The following images are flashed: RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.41-1.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin RX-51_2009SE_ 3.2010.02 -8.002 _PR_COMBINED_002_ARM.bin. The device seem to work OK again until I tried to enter some text from the keyboard. Some characters now seem to be inter connected: when I enter an 'a' it becomes 'oa' when I enter an 'o' it becomes also 'oa' when I enter an 'x' it becomes '.x' when I enter an '.' it becomes also '.x' when I enter an 'd' it becomes 'dk' when I enter an 'k' it becomes also 'dk' when I enter an '#' it becomes '#&'when I enter an '&' it becomes also '#&' I verified 'text input' and 'languageŽional settings' under 'setting' but nothing seems to be wrong there. I don't us any custom dictionairy. The vitual keyboard work normal. It pretty much sucks when the keyboard can't be used. does anybody has a solution for this issue?
View 7 Replies View RelatedIn my Nokia 6303 Classic phone when I try give any input in facebook page in browser it's not working. But if open any other website its taking the input. Means I can do google searches but unable login to my facebook account. I try so many times to enter values to the fileds there in the Facebook page but its not taking anything. I tried for factory reset but no good news, its still the same thing is happening.
Then i installed a Java based facebook application, but its unable to the internet connection. I have checked all the connection settings and application access properties but couldnt get the solution.
I am having issues with the keys not working properly on the touchscreen keyboard. When the phone is in portrait and I press on a key what shows up is the key at the left end of that row ex: if I press L an A shows up on the screen, if I press U I get a Q. If I turn the phone so that the keyboard is now on the same side as the USB port I only get whatever buttons are on the bottom of the screen. If I turn it 180 degress none of the keys work.
I have also noticed this happening in applications like Google Latitude. If I press any of the icons on the bottm of the screen the only one that registers is the zoom out key.
If I do a battery pull things work well for a bit and then it starts acting up again.
I haven't seen anyone else posting about this and I am hoping that it is just this phone. I am exchanging it tonight.
Just yesterday I stopped being able to type a text, virtual keyboard is unresponsive. But it works find for other apps such as email, facebook,etc.

Put it back, turned it on and no results. None of my keys are working. If I press alt or shifts it shows on the right upper corner of the screen that they are being activated, but nothing else happens. I've been trying for hours. I tried the old Alt+shift+Del, I took the sim out, the memory card. I left the phone without battery for an hour but no use. And also my speaker icon shows star insted of curves and my Antenna isn't working either.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm currently using a Bold 9900 under T-Mobile. The phone repeats the letters "n" and "m" nonstop. If I leave my phone down, it would show "nmnmnmnmnmnm" after a minute. The keyboard, trackpad, and unlock buttons are also not responsive. I've tried the batter pull numerous times, and it has shown improvement once (I was able to type in my password and go into the home menu). Soon after that the problem returned. The phone just seems half dead and its reponse to my actions are random. Sometimes I'm unable to unlock my phone even after pressing the unlock button numerous times.
I did go to a beach with my phone. But there was no water or sand damage. It was in my hotel room the whole time. as the phone is completely unuseable right now. The screen works, but I am unable to press any keys to unlock/use my phone.
I have a BB Curve 8900 and my keyboard and roller-ball seem to be frozen. I had no issues at all on yesterday and then in the evening today everything just sort of...froze. The ball will scroll but I cant click on anything or use ANY of the keys. It registers as getting texts in and my light is blinking but, like I said, I can't access anything at all. I have removed the battery for nearly 12 hours to no avail.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy new Bold 9900 has a bug that interferes with typing. It occurs in all applications (eg SMS messaging, typing in the web browser, email, logging on to an application, etc. The specific problem is:
1. when i press "p" it types as "xp" - eg "happy" comes out as "haxpxpy"
2. when i press "x" it types as "xp" - eg "hex" comes out as "hexp"
3. when i press "b" it types as "b" then "enter" - ie "big" comes "big"
4. pressing the "enter" key generates a "b" followed by and enter.
- I have the latest software on the device.
- I have performed the battery out while powered on reset.
- I can't call any blackberry tech support (is there a number or email address?)
- the problem came after my first day of use; it went away temporarily (for 1 day) after I reinstalled the asian character support applications on the device using the Desktop Software on my Mac. It then returned and I am living with it. Unable to text, email, type in passwords to websites...essentially, the phone is useless.
i have forgotten the unlock code for my BB curve 8530. It was freezing up and after hard restart would only go to device locked screen and allow me to switch betwe3en the choices but then would not go to screen i chose. Have downloaded the desktop software and been prompted for the unlock code. Should i have some confirmation code documentation that may have been sent to me, because i cant seem to find any. I bought the phone used and cant remember if i had to have the code to activate it or not this phone now belongs to my teenage daughter and we all know what a teenager w/o a working phone is like to be around!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got my Lumia 950 Dual Sim (2 days back) and so far I loved the features and appearance. However, I am getting frustrated with the continuous reboots and on-screen keyboard issues.
When I am trying to type in whats app or Skype (I havent tested other apps yet), the keyboard hangs and then it goes down. I have to keep clicking on the message space and then after a while either it comes up works for sometime and goes down again (unresponsive) or the phone gets restarted. I need to say that I am a bit frustrated with this as this is happening with a frequency of less than 2 minutes. I tried the basic troubleshooting steps of soft reset (volume down + power), but still same.

When I connect my Iphone 3gs to Wifi network and after a few minutes get out of the range of the wifi, then the 3g should work. But in my case when I turn on wifi and connect to a network and after a few minutes turn off wifi, then its not able to connect to the 3g network(Airtel-India) which is availabe and i have tested this on my android phones too, it work perfectly fine there.
