My iPhone 5 is not recognized in my iTunes when I connect it via USB. I have changed computers since I set up the iPhone, and my iTunes (running on Windows 8) does not recognize my device. It has never recognized it.

None of my old apps I have bought are there and it will not add the new apps I have on my phone. My computer crashed and I had to have it fixed but I am completely freaking b/c I had a lot of apps I had bought on there and now they are gone and I don't want to have to buy them all over again b/c that is not fare at all.

I am trying to connect my iphone 4S via USB port to ITunes. It is not showing my device on ITunes for me to access it when it is plugged in. This is my first IPhone so i am unsure if i need to do anything on the actual phone itself in order for it to connect. I have registered the product, if that makes a difference. I was having some problems with my 3g booting up so I connected it to itunes. It was in the middle of a restore when it was accidentally disconnected in the process. Now when I try to restore it again, I first for an error that said 1618. Now, the most recent error says error 21 unable to restore. What can I do to get the phone back up and running?

When charged to an outlet, my phone shows a message that it cannot receive incoming calls and must be restored through iTunes. When I disconnect the phone from the power source it shuts off. When I connect it to the computer, the apple sontinues to come on and nothing else happens. Almost as if it is resetting itself continuously. And it does not show on my iTunes.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter spending the multiple hours required to simply restore my iPhone from a backup, I ejected the phone from iTunes and unlocked the phone with the slider, at which time I was asked whether I would like to set up the iPhone as a new phone or restore it from a backup (cloud or computer-located). I found it odd that I would be asked this question following completion of a restoration from a backup, but I went ahead and told the iPhone I would like it to do what it had already just done, at which time the display told me "connect to iTunes". After connecting to iTunes, my music, app configuration and preferences were visible in iTunes, and I could play music directly from the iPhone. I could also make changes and sync them to the iPhone.
However, the iPhone itself displayed the "connect to iTunes" message throughout, and when I ejected the phone from iTunes this remained. Turning on and off the phone produced no different result. I've started the restore again from scratch now, this time going to the phone and running through the wifi/restore choice options before choosing "restore from backup" in iTunes itself (this is not something that is indicated as required by iTunes or the iPhone at this stage). So I've got a couple hours to burn before I find out if that was the magic combination.Also, open letter to Apple: I don't mean to be unkind, but every single experience I've had trying to back up or restore my iPhone has been an exercise in frustration resulting from the process simply not working as it is described and as it should work. Get your house in order.
I drop my phone so I got a new one and back up everything. Well now I have pics on my phone that I dont want and I cant delete them. I tired hooking up to iTunes but still cant delete certain ones. I can send them or post but nothing to delete them.

I have a black screen on my iPhone 4 saying iTunes with the usb picture underneath. Have connected it to macbook and opened iTunes.  It recommends I restore and update which I have tried. I then get a message saying it cannot be restored. error 2008. Followed all the troubleshooting guide on apple website - latest update for iTunes, turning computer off, no other devices connected etc and have searched the web to find out what this error is but cannot find anything about error 2008.

Seems that they closed whatever they were using to allow syncing by wifi.The device shows its "Ready to Sync" and the status bar on top shows its connected but the phone never shows up in iTunes.I am sure it's nothing more than a software update, but if you use it religiously, you might want to hold off.
