I have an iPhone 4s (iOS 7.1.2) and a late 2013 MBP (10.9.4). When I connect the phone to the MacBook, 2 things don't happen - iTunes doesn't open and after I launch it from the Dock, the Devices list stays resolutely inactive - I have tried the Apple trouble-shooting steps, but to no avail...?

I can't get iTunes to open my iPhone as a device, so I can't sync my phone with the computer. I have the most recent version of iTunes and I have a Mac computer. I have gone through all of the trouble shooting suggestions already - rebooting phone and computer, checking USB cable, trying various USB ports, etc. What can I do to get iTunes to recogize that a device has been connected to the computer. It also does not recognize when my husband connects his phone either. It will charge the phones and nothing more.

I had the problem of iTunes not recognising the iPhone on MOST occasions when I start it. Sometimes it would sometimes it wouldn't. This has been going on for 4 months. After running through all the tips on the web, from apple and everyone else i finally discovered I was low on Disk Space (I tried to copy the iTunes backup files to another location to protect them and they wouldn't fit). So I cleaned out my hard disk and everything worked.
I have an iPhone 4 with iOS 4.3.3 and I don't want to update it to iOS 5, I currently have iTunes 10.4 version. I'm just wondering would my iPhone with iOS 4.3.3 still will sync with the newest iTunes, which is 10.6.1?
USB port is working properly, however itunes does not recognize any iphone on my iMAC. What should I do? Iphones are recognized on other computers Windows.
after googling possible solutions i followed Apple's support pages. I have restarted the phone, restarted iTunes multiple times in different orders. I removed all apple components from my XP PC nogo ? restarted the PC. re-installed iTunes. still nothing. im considering throwing my phone through the nearest Apple store window.

I am developing a free app for users and would like to promote the app at various festivals and events at our booth. Other than the user locating the app through the App Store/iTunes or going to our website to download the app, is there any quicker way of transferring the app onto their iPhone? Whether it be having a cable tethered from my iPhone/iPad to theirs and transferring it over or having an app that actually transfers our app to a users phone that accepts it... Similar to the app that exchanges contact information just by tapping the two iphones to each other or near each other.
With my Blackberry I was able to access the internet via Sprint's network or Wi-Fi. Am I only able to access the Net via Wi-Fi on my iphone? I'm still with Sprint.
