IPhone :: Can't Get ITunes To Open My 3g As A Device

I can't get iTunes to open my iPhone as a device, so I can't sync my phone with the computer. I have the most recent version of iTunes and I have a Mac computer. I have gone through all of the trouble shooting suggestions already - rebooting phone and computer, checking USB cable, trying various USB ports, etc. What can I do to get iTunes to recogize that a device has been connected to the computer. It also does not recognize when my husband connects his phone either. It will charge the phones and nothing more.

It starts to open then goes black and back to the lock screen. All my other apps work fine. Have done a full shut down several times and still nothing has changed.

I downloaded the itunes update and the iphoto updates today, June 14, 2012. Now when i plug in my iphone to my iMac, iphoto opens. When I close it, itunes does not automatically open (i have that option checked) and the iphone does not show in itunes? What's up with that?

Yesterday, i foolishly unchecked a box on the summary tab when my iPhone was plugged into my PC that said "open iTunes when this iPhone is connected" so now when i plug my iPhone into my laptop NOTHING happens. I have no clue how to manually let my PC/iTunes know that i want it to connect to my iPhone so i can sync. Â
I can't change the setting, because you can only view the setting when the iPhone is connected to iTues, which is what i cannot do right now.

When i plug my iphone into my laptop it will charge but when I open itunes it doesnt show up. I have restarted my computer, redownloaded and updated itunes, restarted apple mobile device and checked the restrictions on my iphone. None of these things fixed the problem.

I have a iPhone 5s and everyone knows that there is a finger print Touch ID.You could also use it for iTunes and apps so that you don't have to type in your password every time.My Touch ID for iTunes doesn't work when I open it and download stuffs on apps store it just tells you to enter my apple password for Touch ID and that's all and then it starts to download. I cannot do the Touch ID.

Alright, a few years ago I got my iTunes account and only had my iPod touvh connected to it. I recently got an iPhone and I am trying to add it to get it to sync it with with iTunes also. I cannot see my device in iTunes. I have tried using different USB ports, as well as different USB connection cables. I am using MacBook Pro using Mac OS X and iPhone IOS 5.1.1 (iPhone 4).
I used to see the device show up in my iTunes as a device and could manage which apps, etc to sync with. Now when I plug my iPhone in, it doesnt show up as a device at all. I have followed all of the diections by Apple Support at [URL]
