View 1 RepliesEver since I upgraded my iPhone 4S to iOS7, it has basically become a brick. It constantly freezes, and the home button becomes completely inoperable. People have suggested a number of fixes for the home button problem ("calibrating", tightening screws, etc.) but none of the fixes solved the problem. Through trial and error, I've come to realize that the problem is that the phone doesn't have enough computing power and that too much of its RAM gets used up by background processes, causing the phone to freeze. Â
I have found an app that stops unnecessary background processes currently running, frees up RAM, and lets the phone function properly (Free RAM 1.3). Once I've run this app, the phone functions perfectly. Â
However, this clean up only happens each time the app is launched (ie: it does not continuously free up RAM). So, I constantly have to run it (and sometimes am not able to because the phone is frozen and the home button won't work). Â
When it is running, the app displays the background processes that are running. Looking at the list, there are many processes for which I have no need, such as processes related to automatic checking for app updates, processes related to iCloud (which I do not use), etc. Preventing these processes from running in the first place would go a long way in making my phone more useable (being able to return to a previous iOS would be a better option, but Apple won't allow this).Â
Here is my question:Â is there a way to prevent unnecessary background processes from running at all?Â

My iPhone5 (Jan 2013) will not find any wifi networks. It's running ios 7.1.1Â
I have reset everything, turned it off and on a zillion times turned the router off and onÂ
None of the other apple products in the house are having problems with the networks.Â
So I'm thinking its a hardware problem-But here's the odd thing: every time I turn it off and on, the call forwarding icon (phone+arrow) appears.When I go into settings/phone/call forwarding it immediately goes away.Â
4G is working fine, although the last couple of days my phone has been randomly forwarding some calls to my voicemail w/o ringing; but not always.
apparently hitting the home icon on the phone does not close an application necessarily. How do you find out what is running? And how do you close them for good?

I have been an apple user for many years and recently had a disturbing occurrence. I stopped receiving some of my texts messages for the past month or so and when I searched all of the devices in my household, I was shocked to find that my daughter's iPhone was receiving them because the senders were using iMessage (which I don't use). I was able to repair that situation but my bigger question is whether I can find a list of all devices using my account info to log into iMessage and remove them so that I receive every text sent to my iPhone.

I just returned from a two-day road trip and used my iPhone's Music app on shuffle for my soundtrack. I'd like to see a list of the songs that were played (in order) but can't seem to find a log or history. I went to the last song played and tapped the Back button until it reached the first song but I errantly tapped it one more time and it took me to the main menu and I couldn't return to my songs in the order they were played.

Around 15 gb of pure pictures and videos. I was trying to make some more space and started deleting some pictures and then I was deleting some music, I took a break and when I looked again there was no more pictures or music on my phone anywhere! Yet when it still says my storage is running low. A lot of those pictures I wanted to keep. I'm trying to plug it into my computer but I cant find the file and still can't find any pictures or videos on it. I'm running out of options and I feel like I might as well reset it, but then again I don't want to lose those pictures or photos. It also surprises me that they were taking up so much storage space.

I would figure without me doing anything, it would stay "optimized", but this is not the case. Is this normal or am I having an issue?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI got my 6p last week and it's been running great until this afternoon. It got warm and the battery level drops by 70's at around 10am to low 30's at 4pm; during that time it was mostly on airplane mode with all sync/bluetooth/gps turned off.
When I checked the battery history it says that the GPS has been on for over 7 hours. I certainly did not turn on the gps myself (I turned off location), and I do NOT have smart lock.
Question: How can I determine which apps/processes turn on the GPS?
I also notice that "Miscellanenous" is responsible for 29% of the battery use.
Question: What the heck is that? How can I turn it off?

I went to bb website to download, but it says unsupported. well, sorta because 8520 doesn't have gps, but why it is installed if it can't be used?
I've been having issues since I did the Froyo update on my Blue Tick upgraded Telstra defy. Australian users will know what I mean by that. I did a hard reset soon after the froyo update because a few strange things were happenning. The hard reset seemed to resolve my issues.
But now I need to reboot my phone on average once per day. I get google system processes force closing randomly. It usually happens when I'm not even using the phone. I'll pick it up to use it and there'll be a force close message. Stuff like Swype will also randomly force close. When this stuff starts to happen, a heap of my apps won't open. They just force close straight away. When I reboot everything is fine for about another 24 hours, then another google system process will force close and it all starts to happen again.
Has anyone had anything similar happen? Is there any point in doing another hard reset? I can't really see why it would make any difference doing it again. I'm currently in the middle of reformatting my sd card to see if that makes any difference.
I can't find the "blackberry attachment service" file in my application list can I download one? I also looked in Options / Advanced Options / Modules, And don't have "net_rim_bb_attachment" file? How do I proceed from here?

Have searched a lot about this problem, but looks like nobody has faced this before.hen I open my contact list (or the message list) and then press the back button, they don't close. I have to press the home button to come out of them forcefully. I then can kill the messaging app by going in task manager but there is no such option for contact list. This problem occurs only for contact list and message list. Rest all apps I am able to close by pressing back button.
