Xseries :: Can't Restore Text Messages From Backup
Jan 3, 2012I did a backup of Nokia x6 (FW 40.X latest) on Nokia PC suite and Nokia suite. I then did a hard reset of my phone and now I'm unable to restore text messages from backup file. In fact not just the new ones but none of the backup files are getting restored. I do a backup every 2 weeks and even the older files don't seem to work. Rest of the data got restored absolutely fine. Only have a problem with test messages.
I nearly have 7000 sms across inbox and my folders. too much data lose ( or may be too much to restore? ).
List of Nokia phones I've used: 3310, 3315, 3200, 6600,3250, N73 ME, N95 8GB, 5800 XpressMusic and Nokia X6 16 GB (currently using this).

Jul 3, 2012I have recently took the back up of my text massage using BlackBerry Desktop Software. After taking the backup I accidently deleted one important message (original) from the device. I tried to retrieve the text message from the backup I created but it showing the name of the sender but there is no conversion in text message inbox.. it just blank message.

Feb 14, 2010I'm really new to the whole mobile phone hacking thing, but I've tinkered around with just about everything else I own. So far, I've been able to get a look at the filesystem on my motorola rival A455 by using P2k Commander. From just manually exploring, I've found where the pictures, videos, and music are stored. However, my goal is to be able to rip the text messages stored on my phone and save them on my computer. I'm not terribly picky about how they come out formatted, but I would like to be able to read them. So far, I've looked at EMS_message_0.bin and EMS_message_1.bin as possible candidates, but upon making cue files and mounting them to a virtual drive, I got a corrupted data message from Windows and nothing showed up.
In short, does anyone know where text messages are stored on the rival's filesystem? And how can I export these files into a readable format?
Xseries :: Nokia X6 Won't Turn On - Any Way To Still Backup Files?
Dec 17, 2010I wanted to backup my phone last night, it has several irreplaceable pictures and videos and today the phone seems to be dead. Last night, it was working fine, I closed any apps I had running, set the alarm and locked the phone. I wake up late today to find that my phone isn't working, I try unlocking it, taking the battery out, charging it. Nothing. I can't get it to turn on. Any way I can back up the files that are on there. Presuming it's not the drive in the phone that is dead, the files are still there and can be recovered, but I doubt Nokia support would go to that effort and they'd probably just give me a new phone. I want those files more than I want the phone.

Aug 23, 2010When I try to forward a text message to more than 10 people by using the contacts menu to select the recipients, the message changes from text message to multimedia message.
Since, I do not have a subscription for multimedia messages with my service provider, the message remains in the outbox and never gets sent.
Can someone advice why the text message converts to multimedia message? How to prevent this from happening everytime I send/forward text message to more than 10 people from the contacts list?

Sep 16, 2011i bought my mobile about a year ago. it was working pretty well.about 2-3 days ago, my phone stopped vibrating on an incoming message.It does vibrate during an incoming call.I have restored the factory settings,switched it on and off,took out the battery and put it back on, but nothing seems to work.Also, the normal message notification(the small envelope on the upper right corner) doesnt show up when i recieve a message. I tried to set it on general,so that it wud give the message tone on an incoming message,but it doesnt give the message tone as well.

Jan 24, 2012So my N79 is refusing to let me send text messages on the grounds that "Text Message: Not enough memory to perform operation. Please delete some data first". So I went through and got rid of a heap of stuff - songs, videos the kinda things that are big files, and still no change.
My phone memory has 368kb free and my memory card has 3734 mb of free memory.Was working perfectly fine yesterday with more data and my phone stores about 1000 messages pretty easily, several videos, songs etc..

Aug 18, 2010The bar on the top of the screen between the "select a profile" and the "search magnifying glass" where the notifications pop up not sure what that page is called but in this slide down screen under Text Messages I have a text message that is staying at unread. Even though I have deleted the text message and I've tried everything to try and get it to go away. Today I have a Blackberry Messenger Message that won't delete as well. Does anyone else have this problem and figure out a way to refresh and get ride of it? I've tried turning the device on and off a few times but doesn't fix the issue.

I clicked OK and then it comes up with another message and it says Backup completed ... click OK .So is it just one theme that's odd and not being backed up? This worked fine, until the phone's firmware was upgraded.The developers of PhoneDirector tell me "the latest firmware of the 6303ci phone is not able to initialize the OBEX protocol if it is requested from the computer".I have about 2000 text messages in my phone and I want to get them on my computer because the phone is getting the hick ups from this amount of messages.

Apr 13, 2010I have bought a new 5800 XM recently instead of my old 7610. I tried hard I think but unable to find a way to transfer my text messages from my 7610 to 5800 XM. How come I can manage this or is not there a way to achieve this issue.
* I own the final version of Nokia PC Suite and Ovi Suite by today. they even cannot install the Nokia PC Suite Support software into my old 7610.

Jul 18, 2011His text message gets interrupted halfway through by an old message he sent before (be it a previous message from a few minutes ago or from weeks ago!) It only happens with texts from him, no-one else. I've tried deleting our conversation but it makes no difference.
