Xseries :: Nokia X6 Won't Turn On - Any Way To Still Backup Files?
Dec 17, 2010
I wanted to backup my phone last night, it has several irreplaceable pictures and videos and today the phone seems to be dead. Last night, it was working fine, I closed any apps I had running, set the alarm and locked the phone. I wake up late today to find that my phone isn't working, I try unlocking it, taking the battery out, charging it. Nothing. I can't get it to turn on. Any way I can back up the files that are on there. Presuming it's not the drive in the phone that is dead, the files are still there and can be recovered, but I doubt Nokia support would go to that effort and they'd probably just give me a new phone. I want those files more than I want the phone.
I can't delete the Nokia X6 sounds file on the music player e.g. 'CaptureScreenMode', 'msg', etc. If I tried to delete it, it won't work. The error message says: "Unable to execute file for security reasons". Is there any way to hide that Nokia X6 hidden sounds file on the music player???
Okay, so I wanted to do a firmware update on my Nokia phone via cable. First problem was that NSU does not support Windows 7 x64 properly in the the sense that it doesnt effin work at all! So, I launch VMWare and I install Windows XP x32 on a virtual machine, but that didnt work too well either. I eventually uninstalled PC suite and Connectivity Driver from my Win7 hoping to make the phone connect to my WinXP virtual machine. It works. I update my phone's firmware. I want to do a recovery of my effin contacts. And the backup file is gone. What kind of software does that? Oh, you want to uninstall PC Suite? Yeah? Well, you will lose all data for that.
but how to restore the backup to my mobile?or atleast how do i view the content of the important file like contacts.arc? ( unless with nokisoft) convert the Contact.arc to Contact.txt or cvs or xls?
A few days ago my nokia screen got frozen so i switched it off, when i tried to turn it back on it will not work, i have tried charging and also swopping the battery but no luck it will still not power on!.If i wanted to give it in for Repair-which i can not do,because i can't back up my phone from images, videos, music etc.
I have two different .ipd files and want to combine them to make one .ipd file to put onto my blackberry. I have some data on each of the backup files that I need to be combined with each other. Ive tried using ABC Amber Blackberry but had no luck.
I just got a new X1 and am trying to play MP3 files. The samples work OK as does the radio. I have put several MP3 files on a card and installed the card in the phone but the phone says there are no music files. I have tried 2 different cards - both formatted in FAT and FAT 32 but still the files are not seen. Is the phone faulty or is there something else I need to do?
I wanna sell my x6 at eBay and want to delete all my files(images,SMS,games, apps, etc), but if I reset my cell phone up to factory setting, there arenīt delete my own files, just the setting of the phone is reset.I don't wanna sell it in eBay and somebody hasnīt anything to do as restore the old private files and read my personal messages.
I did a backup of Nokia x6 (FW 40.X latest) on Nokia PC suite and Nokia suite. I then did a hard reset of my phone and now I'm unable to restore text messages from backup file. In fact not just the new ones but none of the backup files are getting restored. I do a backup every 2 weeks and even the older files don't seem to work. Rest of the data got restored absolutely fine. Only have a problem with test messages.
I nearly have 7000 sms across inbox and my folders. too much data lose ( or may be too much to restore? ).
List of Nokia phones I've used: 3310, 3315, 3200, 6600,3250, N73 ME, N95 8GB, 5800 XpressMusic and Nokia X6 16 GB (currently using this).
I am about to back up my files before installing the latest firmware update but the phone says "memory full, close some applications" or something to that effect. However, I have over 12 GB of memory on my phone. So what gives? I've read forum threads for other Nokia phones that have the same problem and the only solution is to do a hard reset.
Recently I've installed quite a lot of applications, so when I went to open the Installation Files folder, there is nothing in it, and it goes back to home screen.I know that the problem is that is having difficulties reading all the data, there is like 400MB of .sis applications on my phone. My questions is how to uninstall or delete some of the applications. Is there a way to do it from a computer, because I can't find the folder where the applications are installed.
I would like to copy a picture and a song from memory card to phone memory of my Nokia x2, but I don't know how to. If I take out memory card from the phone now the picture I chose as my screen background disappears I want to have it all the time on the screen no mater if the card is in or out of the phone.
I put few video songs of WMV and MPG-4 format in my x2-01 which I bought couple of weeks back but its unable to play them. When I play WMV format only sound come and no video is shown and for MPG-4 it says that file not supported.
I have a Nokia X3-02. I had a problem with the camera, each time I open it it says "Operation Failed" then goes to standby mode. I tried to restore it to factory settings, didn't work. I connected it to the Ovi Suit to check for updates, is said "There are no updates" and something like "If you are experiencing problems with the current version, you can reinstall it" so I did. I followed the steps, made the backup, waited for a while, then when the reinstall process was done, the touch screen wasn't working anymore, the keypad is working fine, the volume up/down buttons are working, everything is working except the touch screen. Its not responding! I tried to reinstall again. Still the same. I tried to reinstall, without doing a backup.
Slider switch has bust & the phone is locked. I can't backup using PC suite because it's locked. I've tried taking the battery out & switching on again, but it locks again before I can do anything.
