Xperia Ray :: Display Keep Turning On/off Automatically?
May 15, 2012
My new Xperia Ray that I baught a week ago keeps turning on/off by its own without any user activity. What is the problem and what is causing it so, it did not do this when i unboxed it. Number two it gets heated when i watch a video or play a game or during a call.
I have a very annoying problem with my Xperia Mini. I put it in silent mode, but it comes out of silent mode every half or full hour. This is really embarassing during meetings, etc. This was the problem in original android. Then I upgraded android to 4 ICS. After the upgrade, it was more stable for some time, but now the problem has started again. Does anyone else have this problem?
I got my Z2 just over a week ago and I noticed that when I have STAMINA mode on that my display keeps timing out every 5 seconds despite the settings being on for 5 minutes.
I upgraded to lollipop and I had this issue. Didn't realise so I ended up having to do a factory reset. Once this was done I turned on stamina mode again, as soon as I did the fault occurred again. So is there a bug on the upgraded software??
My phone's display light automatically turns on even if I dont use it. This results in low battery and phone becomes hot. I have tried with 'Screen timeout' option but in vain. what has to be done to make my phone work well.
I bought HTC one 3weeks ago..everything was going good initially but later got this issue. The airplane mode gets turned on automatically at 11pm every day. This could be an issue with the settings, but dint any option to set it correct.
i purchased a Nokia 5800 Xpress music. After a few moths he started truning off automattically. Sometimes he turns on afterwards, sometimes he does not. It is really very anoiing. Because when I keep my obile phone in my pocket, I don't know If it turned off. I tried to do a complete reset, but that didn't work. Also all updates are installed.
I have been trying to find the reason why it keeps happening and I still can't find out why but i think the battery is not the main problem to it, I think it's the phone.
Just last night the radio/towers on my phone turned off. I turn them back on or just make a call to restore the connection but they turn off in about 10 seconds.I found this post below: radio keeps turning itself off which describes a similar issue. There hadn't been any posts on it since last year so I didn't know if there was any updates on the issue or if it still signified that it was a hardware issue with the phone.
How to make this phone stop automatically turning the wi-fi on. I got my phone back from repair and now its automatically turning wi-fi on when I do not want it to. Here is a screen shot of the settings. I have checked.
I turn my phone off at night, watch it go through its shut down procedure and in the morning it is back on again. My wife's also does not stay off. Can't say if it is everytime or just some. I know many of you do not turn your phones off but if you could check this it would be great.
Anytime I finish a workout I usually power down my device because it usually drains pretty quickly on "standby" (doesn't last more than a day or two if I'm not using but don't power off). However, two times in the past couple of weeks I've taken my device out and it was always on. I suppose it's possible I forgot to power down, but I doubt I would have done this twice in the past few weeks.
I have owned a galaxy s6 edge for three or four months now and for the last month or so, the location setting has been turning itself on. I have noticed that this only happens when I have some form of internet connection (4g or wifi).
I checked the location services menu and it says that no apps have recently requested my location so why this is turning on. I have also moved my location quick setting to the end of the scrollable quick settings so there is no possibility of turning it on accidentally.
I don't want it to know where I am (data protection and all that).
My Droid 2 Global started doing that today. I would press the button on top that turns ON the display, and the login screen appeared, as usual. Then, when I attempted to insert my password, the display would suddenly turn off before I could go any further, and when I pressed the top button again, it had returned to the initial login screen. I couldn't get past the password entry! I typed faster, got my password in, then went to settings to confirm the display time: it was set for 2 minutes to display shutoff. I then removed my password, just in case I couldn't get back on! Periodically, again, the display turned off very quickly for no reason, during the next hour or so. During that time, I turned my Droid off, then on, but it still didn't cooperate. Next, I removed the battery, and replaced it. Still no luck. The phone wasn't overly warm (that's ANOTHER question--why does it get so hot!), as it has been on other occasions.!
Tasker or any other program to automatically turn the media volume to max? This is convenient as I want the volume maxed out when I connect to my cars bluetooth (otherwise I really have to crank up the stereo volume), but I don't want media volume on max when not connected. In the past I have used one of two apps (Tasker or Bluetooth Connect & Play). Both of these apps are having issues adjusting the media volume when they worked perfectly on my pre kitkat phones. Sometimes it works correctly and maxes out the volume, other times it doesn't change it at all.
My previous phone was HTC Wildfire S (stock Android 2.3.3) and I was able to receive and send MMS with data connection turned off. Simply, when I send MMS phone automatically turn on data connection. Same, when somebody send MMS to me, Wildfire S automatically turn on data connection and retrieve MMS. Now I am using Samsung Galaxy S2. I have to keep data connection always on if I want to send and receive MMS. I don't want data connection to be always on because I haven't flat data plan. I tried Quick Setting app. It change APN for internet and keeps data connection always on (do not modify MMS settings). At this way I can use MMS normally, but my battery drain for just 8 hours!
My Samsung Galaxy S6 display keeps turning on and off. And I mean it lights up, then goes black....lights up...then goes black....all day, all night. My battery is draining at least 4-5 times a day. I've tried rebooting. I've tried starting in Safe Mode. Nothing works. And this problem started out of the blue. While the phone is being used....making a phone call, texting or using an app the screen doesn't do this. But if its just sitting there its turning on and off and draining my battery.
I've tried the S6 on the Google and Nokia wireless charging pads and the screen illuminates every few seconds. This is especially annoying at night. I don't have the option to keep awake while charging selected and this doesn't happen with the plug-in charger.
Am I doing something wrong? Is this normal? I also own a Nexus 6 and I don't have that issue with either charging pad.
I have a BB Bold 9780 which I have purchased in Oct 2011. The display screen has been turning white for some strange reasons all by itself and some times it is ok. I have not purchased it from the service providers
I am using a Galaxy SII since two weeks. It is an amazing cell phone. I had absolutely no issues with the phone until yesterday. But yesterday night i turned the phone off and then when I turned it back on, I am facing a problem that is really annoying me. I am using widget locker for locking and unlocking purpose of the phone. When I lock my phone, after about 5-6 mins, I see the display of the phone automatically waking up although I did not touch any of the keys. For about 1 min, the display will remain awake and then fall asleep automatically. This cycle starts at around 3AM and stops after 2-3 hours.
My background display for my iphone5 has changed (without me doing anything). This is the display which appears in the background when running all apps, not the wallpaper or home screen. Why this happened and how to change it?
Is it possible to disable all the telephony functions of the Xperia Ray and still be able to listen to FM radio ? (to improve battery life)
"Plane mode" is unfortunately not an option as it doesn't allow listening to the radio... (whereas it allows you to connect yourself to a Wi-fi network or to receive GPS signals, for instance) Would be great if there was a widget "Enable/Disable GSM networks" or something like that, as there is for other functions... but I couldn't find such a thing.
My friend's display name updates by itself without her doing it and there is no change to the display name, sometimes a few times a day. is it possible that this can happen?
I have a XOOM WiFi I bought from Staples on launch day. A couple of days ago the screen started turning blue. If the device sits unused (such as overnight) the next morning it is fine for about a minute or two. Then it turns blue again. The blue corruption moves. If I try to scroll up on a list that is already scrolled as far as it can go a blue "halo" appears at the bottom of the screen for as long as I hold my finger on the screen. It disappears after a few seconds. I've already tried a soft reset. I haven't tried a factory wipe yet as I was hoping to avoid that.
My screen turns ON automatically when sitting on counter/table (not touched) every 10-30 seconds continuously. Even if I have the screen lock on or the phone completely locked, the home screen keeps popping up. When I attempt the screen lock alone, within a minute the screen turns on and unlocks automatically without touching the phone. It's killing the battery.
