i am usin gmy laptop as a wifi hotspot using a software. previously i was able to easily connect to the internet and all the pages and applications like whatsapp were working fine. since today morning i am able to connect to the laptop wifi hotspot but i am unable to open any webpages and use internet over any application. only google works after refreshing the page donzen of time

I should also mention that safari converts the site name to [URL] after I press enter. But when I click on a link to take me to facebook etc. it looks as if it's loading, but it never does. all I get is a blank page. I was receiving everything fine, and could access any link until recently. I don't know if somebody maybe changed somethin in the settings maybe - how to be able to access mobile facebook etc. again.

Also, I tried to complete a job search on monster.com. I could complete all of the fields, but when I clicked on the "search" button, nothing happens.
This is a personal blackberry with no security restrictions, so I'm not sure what I have to turn on that's not turned on.
I have no trouble accessing facebook via wifi but cannot get the app to load when the wifi is turned off.

I am not able to drag down the notification area when I am holding the mobile in portrait mode. If I shift to landscape mode (by sliding the qwerty keyboard out), then when I press at the top status bar, I can drag the notification area down.

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy N97mini uses the same browser as my E71 but I cannot log in to secure websites. I either get a username error or a password error or both. I cannot find any settings that seem to help. I also have frequent browser crashes although most people say that is related to low RAM. Since I have nothing else running in the background I question that conclusion. The biggest problem is the secure site problem.

Connected the usb port while holding the back button and selected connect the phone but nothing happened. I've tried this about 6 times now and nothing.Should the phone be asking me what i want to do each time? I thought there was an option to set the phone to automatically mount when connecting the usb cable but it seems to be gone in 2.1. Could anything be blocking it? My friend got the same update via his HTC shortly after, he was able to update directly from his phone without any problem. I was informed I had to connect to a PC to update mine, frustrating but I do understand the definate benefit. But there are only benefits if the software related is robust and well tested, which it isn't.I connected my phone, updated PC companion, connected the phone via pc companion. Attempted to use the support zone which had just been updated also. I got the error message saying " Pc Companion need to connect to online server". I have done suggest it's only a temporary problem but I've tried on over 10 different occasions on two different PC's.I then tried using the SUS as I needed to use that to update to ICS in the first place, but it wants to dowload a 127mb file, way to big for the patch which is meant to be 0.1mb.

Tried to carry out the update on 2 computers without success. On one computer PC companion returns an eror message at the 'preparing computer' stage - no help on how to rectify the problem. On my laptop, PC companion switches off my phone and then freezes the computer. I di on one attempt get to the 'update' stage where I was presented with some odd manipulations of disconnecting and re-connecting the phone. I followed the instructions but then update process didn't continue.Can anyone cast any light on this or better still can Sony provide the update OTA?

Prepare stage of the update, I get an error, however:Installation Error Unable to install or start phone software update components.I live in the Netherlands and my carrier doesn't push firmware updates through my phone's data network (I don't know if that'd even be possible)
