I don't use facebook. I do not wish to sync with my gmail (nor do I use my google account for calenders and events anyway).Even my old T650 had that simple feature of adding a birthday date to a contact and integrate it into the phone's calender events.So will Sony ever release an update that allows to add an event to contact? Samsung phones can do it...

Why is it NOT possible to have birthdays in the contact list? why I am writing this thread - I just don't understand why they do NOT integrate this, even my old Nokia E52 managed that...I am synchronising my Mini Pro with my MacBook Pro (with SyncMate, i don't want to use Google) so I have all birthday in the calender (because I have them in the Mac calender) and now I installed Ebobirthday on the phone so the problem is kind of " bypassed". But I think it's weird that there is no birthday field in the addressbook!

1. slide finger towards right to unlock
2. slide finger towards left to silent phone
The issue is that phone gets silent without the intention to do so. Is there any setting by which I can disable this Silent functionality?
There does not seem to be an option to explore the sim contacts, or use sim contacts.Importing sim contacts is a different matter.When travelling I would rather use the sim contacts, and not have to store numbers I might never need. Besides I can copy sim contacts to phone if I want to.Neither option seems to be available.The option to use sim contacts seems to be forgotten. Why? Is there a way to have access to sim contacts without importing the contacts?

I decide to update to ICS but since the update doesn't show up in PC companion or Update Service or OTA, I get flashtool and the stock .431 ftf and flash my mini pro (SI 1249-0751) to ICS (and also plug in a fresh new 32GB microSDHC card to celebrate). A bit laggy, crashes of the contact viewer when searching throught the dialpad, but that's okay, I can use a different launcher (Zeam) and dialer app (Dialer One).But when I open the camera app and try to take a picture with the front camera ...... there's no option. It's gone.
Another camera app, no front camera.Skype recognises only the rear camera. No front camera.I open the service menu (*#*#SERVICE#*#* i.e *#*#7378423#*#*) and test the secondary camera, and it says "This device does not support the function". The primary works fine. All other supported features work fine. Light sensor (next to the front cam) responds too. (But the Proximity switch doesn't. Not sure if it should. Perhaps that could hint at a hardware problem with the connections from the bottom half to the top slider part.)
I scout the forums and find that there's some some strange relationship between the SD card and the front camera for the Ray (or some other device) . With the old SD card, still no luck.I downgrade to GB. Still not working. Front cam missing.I unlock the bootloader and install a custom rom (CyanogenMod 9.0.0 Stable mango).Still not working. Front cam missing.I reinstall GB, relock the bootloader in the hope of an OTA update and do finally get one (to ICS). I update it. Still not working. Front cam missing.I don't think it's (gulp) hardware. There hasn't been any drop onto a hard surface.

I activate timescape and it tooks all my facebook contacts and put it in the adress book of my phone, and now i can not see my sim contacts. how can I undo this, I already turn off facebook in timescape, maybe i should delete it for now as i don't use it, i like to keep my phone contact separate from facebook and access facebook only when i need it. and now i can't configure presonal ring for the people i have in my phone book, because it took all the facebook information and its with timescape and dosn't have an option to set a ring for the contact in edit part i just can add it to favorites o delete contact. and i still can not see my sim contacts they are somewhere because when i tap a name in search bar it shows me the contact and phone, but i'd like to see what i have.
