My recently purchased Xperia Active forgets SD card content after rebooting. If I take a photo, I can find it (using ASTRO) saved in mnt/sdcard/dcim/100andro. But after I shut down and restart my phone the directory is empty and the gallery app can't find any photos.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently updated my xperia z2 phone from 4.4.2 KK to 5.0.2 (23.1.A.1.28) first did the installation without wiping the data but after that i made factory reset both from phone and from Recovery deleting all user data . Before that (i don`t know if that is with the problem) i installed Signature verification always true patch from Lucky Patcher and after that removed it . Everything is perfect with the phone except the strange issue that happens when i restart or turn off and then turn it on again.
When i do it- first this happens -(the attached image) - it shows all the apps that i moved to the sd card like that with red circle with sd card symbol in the upper right corner and no app icons and after couple of seconds it loads them somethimes, all of them - but somethimes it shows only those which are on internal memory and after a restart it loads them all without a problem but it deletes all the data on the sd card except the app data ( of those which i moved to the sd card with the lolipop function and with Folder Mount).
All the pictures, movies, music, e-books and more are deleted but the app data is not ... and the phone is doing that sometimes not all the time. When the Pictures, music and so on are deleted i`m putting them back on the sd card again and couple of restarts there is no problem loading the apps or deleting the data on the sd card ... but after that it happens again and deletes my information ... but only pictures books music movies .. . I`m using TDK 32 GB micro sd Fat 32 formatted - i tried ntfs but the z2 doesn't recognizes it .. the sd card is tested with H2Testw and its ok and i didn't had any problems, when i was using 4.4.2 KitKat .
I own a Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, and I just bought it less than a month ago. A peculiar thing happened to me today- my phone (or my SD card) simply decided to "forget" all the stuff that I had saved on it (on the SD card), more precisely, copied from another phone and from the laptop. It erased ONLY the things I saved there (my music and pictures from my laptop and my previous phone, and probably other stuff that I don't even remember I had on it). All the folders that the phone itself created on my SD card (camera pictures, Bluetooth, downloads, folders linked to apps like other camera apps and so on) stayed untouched. I first noticed that something strange was going on when I connected my Xperia Neo to my laptop in order to copy some music to it. When I opened the folder I created on the card, only some of the data was there, not all of it. I disconnected the phone, and unmounted the SD card, took it out, and then put it back in, I think I did this more than once. When I put it back in, the thing mentioned in the beginning happened- all the stuff that I put there was gone. I checked the card once more by putting it in my laptop, and there it was, half-empty. Does anybody know what the problem could be? I'm confused because of the arbitrariness (I don't know what else should I call it) of the items removed. I thought I accidentally touched the "Erase SD card" option, instead of Unmount SD card, but then it would erase ALL the content on it, wouldn't it? I just wanted to check if anybody had a similar problem and could just explain to me what happened, I am aware that I will not get my music and pictures and other files back, I simply cannot understand how this is possible. No other problems with the phone, except for my display turning on/off on its own, but I thing I got that fixed with Automatic Task Killer app.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an app, Activity Classifier, that uses the handset accelerometers to provide information on activities and total exercise. It automates exercise tracking, classifies activities by type and quantifies aerobic intensity. Live data streamed from an Xperia Arc using the app is displayed in a blog. While it is possible to use on the Active it is unfortunately more difficult on the Active than the Arc because the Active accelerometers have a fault that is hard to get around. The problem is that the accelerometers sometimes take quite a while to start sampling when either started or the sampling frequency is changed.Occasionally it can take longer than 90 seconds. The problem can be seen with the app Accelerometer Frequency. Switch between sampling frequencies and notice that sometimes it switches instantly and sometimes it doesn't. To minimise battery consumption Activity Classifier acquires data from the accelerometers for 6 seconds out of every 30. If no other app is using the accelerometers they will start and stop every sampling period. On the Active they frequently don't start and the app detects a faulty accelerometer. The app has an option to keep accelerometers on and if this is selected it will work OK but battery consumption goes up a lot. The Active comes with a pedometer app called Walkmate. I can see from the Accelerometer Frequency app that Walkmate keeps the acclerometers running at 50 Hz and running Walkmate at the same time as Activity Classifier will make Activity Classifier work OK as well. Walkmate seems pretty power efficient and uses less than half the power of the market leading pedometer app Accupedo, run in power balanced mode, but it counts a different number of steps.

View 2 Replies View Relatedyesterday out of the blue the display on my active stopped working. i connected it to the pc and did a reset/reinstalled the firmware but still no display.i can play music using the original headphones and the headset controls and the home/menu/back buttons light up when i press the unlock key but that's about it.oh yes and i think i managed to unlock the screen even though it was totally back as i could could play/pause music and skip tracks using the screen controls (pressing where i guessed the music controls were).

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I woke up this morning my phone was turned off so I try to turn it on by holding the power button, it only flashes the LED (red) 3 times between short pauses, no vibrations then stays turned off.Next, I tried to plug the charger in then holding the power button. still the same symptoms as above.Lastly, I tried plugging the charger / connector to my laptop then plugging the phone in. When I did that, the red LED shows 1 blink on intervals as opposed from the 3 blinks above.I know I still have my warranty but I want at least try and fix it because I don't like going out on weekends (the days of the week where I get to rest) so I'd rather try a fix here at home.

Later i found out that I had made a mistake since the memory card contains software and all. This morning when I connected my Bold to the computer, I got a pop-up box on the BB which said, "Content rights do not match the device. Please insert the media card back to the right device."What's this all about? Nothing seems to be amiss with my media, although my pics do seem to be a bit slow to load when I try to view a whole folder.

As soon as the wifi connection is lost or the phone goes into sleep, the wifi password has to be re-entered.The router has WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]encryption and the SSID is on broadcast.At work, the iphone remembers the password no trouble, same at a friends apartment. I also have an ipad 2, ipod touch and a mac book pro, none of which have any trouble with the wifi.I have tried reset the network settings and also restored the phone (i only got it day before, so not much on there) but no change. My S6 seems to always ask for the WiFi password whenever I turn the WiFi on and connect it to my (presumably) saved networks. So when I turn on my WiFi at home, it always asks me for my password, same with work, other saved locations etc. This problem has only started occuring from last week, before I had the problem of WiFi not automatically connecting to the network when WiFi was turned on. I would need to turn it on, and manually press connect on the WiFi page without asking for the WiFi password again.

And I touch the title to start it playing, and it shows the little red marker on the progress bar at about the right position for 2 hours having been played, and as often as not, there is a little flash and then the red marker is back at the far left side and it starts playing again at the beginning. Â
These are books from various sources--today's example was a Librivox download, others have been books on CD, and checking in iTunes verifies that they have been correctly coded as audiobooks and 'remember playback position' is automatically checked.Â
It's a PITA hunting through an 8 hour long recording with only the crude control of the little progress bar and 15 second skip forward/back to find the spot I left off.Â
It doesn't happen with the same titles in iTunes on the computer.Â

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am using BB 8520 Curve with the default external memory (2 Gb). I have music files (*.mp3, *.wma) as well as picture files (captured through the device itself).What happens is, from time to time I am unable to access the media card content. If I go to music, I can see the entries if I go to any of the menu filters, All Songs/Artists/Albums/Genres .. etc. But when I click on the song itself, the music player opens with a message "This playlist contains no valid songs". Also, during this time, my device rings with the default tunes on a call, even if I have set custom profile ring tones.Similarly, if I go to Media->Pictures, I can see a thumbnail preview of the photos, however on trying to open a file it just presents me with a black screen. The contact picture or the desktop custom wallpaper, however is rendered as expected.If I reboot my device by taking off the battery, things get working again.I am experiencing this issue quite frequently, almost every day. I tried to find out a trend for the behaviour, however could not make any such consistent observations.Does anyone in the forum has faced similar issue? Any inputs would be highly appreciated. This is really being a disturbing trait with my otherwise so cool BB.

Anyone know what this is, if I can delete it, & what would happen if I did? Is there any way to shrink this down some?
My address book takes up quite a bit of memory; so does my calendar -- both of which were synced from Outlook. Is there any way to have the addresses/calendar data stored onto my microSD instead of the device memory?
Lastly, I noticed that when I call people using my Curve, it shows up on their caller ID as "private name, private number." Where can I change this setting? Is it in my provider's settings (which I can access online) or on the BlackBerry's settings somewhere? Also, is it possible to at least NOT have it show private when calling those on my address book, such as friends & relatives?
