Xperia Z3 :: No Option To Change To Limited Charset For SMS
Apr 21, 2015
I've recently changed my Z3 with a new one due to total loss of the first one. What I noticed with the new one is that when sending an SMS message and while typing with Greek language keyboard, I get a notification regarding special characters that will reduce the available length from 160 (that is a typical SMS length) to 70. I tried to search the options with no sucess. Also with my previous Z3 I had no such problems as well as with the predecessors Z2 and Z1.. Also tried to install and use google messenger without success.
I wanted to change my phone ringtone and notification ringtone earlier and I noticed the option to choose from my music library is not showing up. I restarted several times to no avail
I'm a System Administrator with a company based in Singapore. We use Blackberries of various model on the StarHub network. We don't use a BES server, the devices pull email via IMAP from our company email servers (BIS)Emails sent by some users are being encoded in the gb18030 charset, despite the text of the email, and the language setting of the device itself, both being in English. The body of the mail is presented in Base64.These emails appear blank when viewed under Outlook 2003, and presumably other clients that haven't Chinese fonts installed.Sample headers of a test mail are:
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 Subject: Test To: pgargan@mycompany.com From: "User" <user@mycompany.com>
[code]....
Why is RIM / StarHub encoding English-language emails as gb18030? More importantly, how can I disable this behaviour and instead get it to use a charset such as "Windows-1252"?
We use many accents in words, what happens to me when writing messages is that I have to write 160 letters (1 message), but if I put an accent on a word he is soon to 70 letters available to write ...
Unfortunatley I have just had to pick up a replacement Z3.
With this one, I am having issues with the WIFI range. Where with my old one I could get WIFI in the garden (Router is in the living room on the first floor) and at work I sit the furthest away from the router, but again on my old Z3 I had no issues. This new one, as soon as I leave the living room the signal drops and disconnects, and at work the WIFI only connects as I walk past the router.
have had my x10 fro 3 days. love most everything...except that most of my hotmail access is limited. what happened? no folders or contacts available. tried tech support, but they were of no help. said i needed to use gmail instead. can't change everything over at this late date.have archived stuff in hotmail going back years. did i load hotmail to the x10 incorrectly?
I have the problem that the wifi works on my Xperia z2 only very limited. If my smartphone is connected to the wifi, everything is either very fast and good, or it loads only very slowly and almost did not go. It also disturbs other devices (PC, Playstation, etc.), which are then work very slowly. When i turn of my wifi from the smartphone, all other devices functioning again as always, and everything loads very fast again. I have that problem since one week.
When I access Gmail using the preinstalled app key it only gives me limited functions. The screen only shows my inbox and the messages in it so I can only reply or forward sent messages. I cannot start a new message or access any other functions that are available to me if I access Gmail through the browser key.Has anyone else had this problem?
How do I go about changing the snooze on my alarm on the s6 edge? I used to be able to change it to different intervals on my S5 but I can't seem to figure it out on my new S6 edge..
Just been upgraded to a 6303i Classic. I want to remove Web (which I won't use) from the Right Selection key and put Names there like it was on my old 6230.
The manual says I can change the Right Selection key in Settings, My Shortcuts. I see options to change the Left Selection key and the Navigation key, but there is no option to change the Right Selection key.
The software is on version 6.84. I attempted the update to 7.10 using the phone's own updater, but it came back saying no update was available.
I need to change the server address for my Active Sync account (or, I could just start a new profile/account) but not only is the server box grayed out but I cant seem to find any option for starting a new mail profile.
I am trying to change the option of sending a read receipt (when I am in my office using outlook I have this option) will this be possible on my BB? I have the following in Message Options? General Options Email Settings Send email to handheld Save copy in sent folder Use auto signature Use out of office reply Enable HTML email Download images automatically Email Filters Email Reconciliation Spell Check
I had expected for the email settings list to be more comprehensive? Could the IT department removed some of my options?
I recently updated my Droid Turbo to Android 5.1. I did a factory reset immediately after the install and set up as a new device. I went to settings to change the launcher from Launcher3 (Turbo's default launcher) to Google. When I went in to the settings screen, the "Home" option was no longer available.
I tried force stopping and clearing memory on Launcher3 as well as Google App, but the Home option still isn't showing up.
Does the Turbo not have the ability to change the Launcher to the standard Google launcher? I miss swiping right to get to my Google Now cards .
Is there a way of changing the screen-off option for specific apps on SG2 Android - i.e. I start an app and don't want screen to go off until I close the app.
1: when i send some images or files, i always have to wait that the receiver accept the file... how can we change this option... and go back with the old style? I understood that this is a "problem" of the new version of BB messenger.
If i send an image to a contact who still have an old model (es BB 8300) with the old software, on my phone is displayed "file sent" straight, without any wait. Instead if i send an image to someone who has a new software, i have to choose the size of the image, and wait for his acceptance. And i also saw that if a contact doesn't accept the file immediately, after some time (really i cannot say how many time), there is a kind of time out of the sending (displayed on his phone)...how is it possible (on my phone was always displayed "waiting for acceptance")? How can i cancel this option?
2: with the old software if someone didn't read a message, a clock appeared on the face of the contact, and then i usually set the advice, to know when he read the message thanks to the sound. With the new software instead, i saw you can just set the advice only if the contact is Unavailable.
I've had this problem for a while and now I'm getting work I don't want to miss my phone because I've put it on dead mode. Before I factory reset my phone, I was able to change my volume using the side buttons to go from different levels of sound, then vibrate only, then dead mode (complete silent and no vibrations). Now I only have different levels of sound and dead mode. I read about changing an option in sounds to vibrate only in silent mode, which will fix this but I can't find that either (my suspicians are that this option was taken out in ICS or moved to a secret location to foil my plans).
I can't find an option to change the resolution to a smaller size on the camera. The only option is widescren or 4:3. What if I want to use less space on my SD card when taking pictures? Is this something we can expect to see in the next software update?
I noticed a weird bug or limitation in my E72s PDF reader. When I open a large PDF file, I can't seem to browse past page 151. Manually nor using 'go to'. My firmware is 22.007, latest for my region (Netherlands). Can anyone confirm this? Trying to read any PDF eBook should do it.
I have tested Magellan and Tom-tom but always Garmin is my personal favorite. I have Garmin Ique 3600, Nuvi (350, 200, 780) and XT, which is also on N85. So now I am testing Nokia Maps.First of all, do we call Nokia maps or Ovi maps? Second I tried to search Staples, Office depot, Home depot and found NONE, and when searched Macy'S found many (all searches off-line). So is Nokia maps designed for Women. On the other hand Garmin XT bit slower search but found all.So my question is can we download PIO databases, not one or two PIO but tons of them from somewhere. Also is there a way so that Guidance will say 200 FEET instead of 365 YARDS.
I was slightly wary about the no sd slot but ended up ordering cos its just too good a phone. But are there any storage cloud options where i canstore stuff when my phone memory gets full? Wont be hard to max it out with the 4k recordings and 16mp pictures.
I am looking to get an e72 for work and wanted some help re the voice recorder function. I do a lot of interviews in the course of my work and find it handy to use my mobile as a backup voice recorder in case my dictaphone fails (which does happen every now and again). My current phone is OK for this as the voice recording is in mp3 format and is decent quality with no restriction on length of recording. My previous phone had a 2 minute time limit which made it useless.
None of the reviews or tech specs that I have found detail the voice recording on the e72. Could someone who has the phone do me a huge favour and check this for me. What format does it record in? What is the quality like if the phone is on a conference table, could I realistically expect it to record a few voices at up to 2m away? Is there any time limit? Is it easy to transfer to PC and play in windows media player if necessary?
