Xperia Z3 :: How To Get Gmail Calendar On Lollipop Lockscreen
Apr 16, 2015
Just got the Lollipop update. Which does show notifications by the way. However, before I had my Google calendar on the (locked) lock screen, can't figure out how to get it on the new lock screen.
My Verizon Lg G3 (VS98523C) just recently received the 5.0.1 update and I'm noticing that when I swipe down the notications panel, it's the same as before (I'd heard I would have to swipe down twice or with two fingers).
Also, my lockscreen is the same as before. Yes, I get the new style notifications but I'm also able to put widgets on it (I read that was gone). And, when there is a notification on my lockscreen, and I tap it to get to that info, I'm then asked to swipe the whole screen again.
I tried to sync up the calendar between my calendar and the gmail calendar. Since the sync -up my normal calendar does not open saying there is a process error. Also Moxier calendar does not show anything in the calendar though I have given the right server name for google.
Whenever I get a notification that wakes up my lockscreen, usually a text message or snapchat, the screen stays awake until I lock it manually. Very annoying as the screen can be on for an hour straight since I'm in class and it completely drains the battery. Can't use wakelock since I don't want to root my phone, and I've already tried clearing cache partition.
After the upgrade to Lollipop, the weather on the lockscreen is gone. Have tried turning it on and off and many reboots, but can't get it to come back. Seems more people are having trouble with NOT being able to get rid of it.
1. After an upgrade to Lollipop, I noticed my gmail label notifications are delayed, i.e. whenever an email with my label is received in my inbox, my customised label notification is delayed, until I unlock my phone and about half a minute later, the notification will appear.
2. Sometimes, the notification sounds (be it whatsapp, email or messages) in locked screen will sound warped.
3. After I unlock the screen and say I'm at my home screen, when I move to another screen, it does not load up properly.
I flashed yesterday Android Lollipop on my N5 and I found out a "problem" for my use.
I am using some applications like llama, lux and UP which have persistent (or ongoing, I don't know the exact term) notifications (to be not killed I presume). My issue here is that these notifactions are displayed on my lockscreen and it is taking space for nothing.
Before I was using "slidelock", which is a lockscreen app and these persistent notifs were not displayed on the lockscreen but were still on the status bar.
Is there a way to have the same behavior?
I saw this: [URL] .... but it completely removes the notification on the status bar, so I am not sure the app is still running.
After updating my S5 to lollipop, the music player controls on my lock screen are no longer visible. I have to unlock my phone every time in order to skip songs and pause/play.
so I've got the google calendar sync set up on the x10 and gotten it verified by the gmail mobile set up.. and the syncing works both ways for future events.. for some reason no past events on the gmail calendar syncs with the x10 calendar..although any events set up in the past on the x10 calendar updates the gmail calendar fine.. does anyone know if this is a "feature" or do I have to set up some personal settings differently? although for the life of me I can't find any settings on the x10 calendar that specifies the length of time the sync should work for!I know this is not a huge issue but I have had to restore from backups cos of various problems with my x10, so everytime I'm having to manually create the past calendar entries (which I use as tracking meaures for various projects I'm working on) on the phone by looking @ the gmail calendar.
Does anyone know where I can find a good calendar for my lockscreen? I don't need one that displays individual events for the day or week, I just need one that displays the current month's calendar and automatically updates each month.
I just got my new Xperia Z3 D6603 Yesterday. Everything is fine. Except my Gmail and Google Calander do not auto sync.
- I already deleted updates for Gmail and reilstalled through Google Play store. Didn't work. - I deleted my Google account and reinstalled. Didn't work. - In settings > accounts > Google > Synchronize, gmail and calender are set to automatic. - I also have all the newest Google and Sony updates installed on my phone.
Altogether it seems like there is something going on with my Google Sync, but I cant find out what is it.
My Photon 4 G does not sync calendar, contact, Gmail with my company Gmail account. I believe that it just stopped syncing last week and I believe that it was following a Motorola update, but cannot say for sure. Under Data Delivery, both Background Data and Data enabled are checked green. However, this is interesting because Email and corporate sync is grayed out on that screen. When I go to Account, checking the sync options is not possible, but I can do a manual sync. Please note, at one time, these options to sync Contacts, Gmail and Calendar were available. I've pulled the batter. I really do not want to reset to factory default. Suggestions? (Please note this is a company Gmail account, not just regular Gmail.)
I am planning a factory reset of my LG G3 Lollipop 5.0. After upgrading fro KitKat 4.4 I have lost my Gmail somewhere. I have spent ages to get it going but no success,I am getting into Gmail through the Browser. But I like the original Gmail app. The last resort is to hard factory reset and I am hoping it would solve the problem.
Updated to Lollipop today on a verizon S5 but now gmail is not retrieving emails. If I open gmail and manually refresh they appear. Tried clearing cache and rebooted several times but still not working right. What next?
I have Google Calendar running on both my iPhone and Nexus 5. I get notifications on my iPhone but not my Nexus 5. I've been through every setting I can find but nothing has worked. I don't have SMS notifications enabled.
I'm using the Google Calendar app (not the built in Samsung calendar app). I create all of my Google Calendar events on my laptop. The Google Calendar app on my S5 displays the events just fine.
In the Google Calendar app on my S5, I go to the Settings menu, I select my calendar from the Settings menu, and the "notifications" section says "1 hour before as SMS".
Also, in the phone's settings, I go to "Application manager", select "Calendar", and the "Show notifications" box is checked.
The problem is that I never get notifications for calendar events. (I expect that they would show up in the notification drawer, but I have never seen a Google Calendar notification there.)
I had been having some difficulty editing the 'location' on my upcoming events - I'd touch the 'save' button, the app would seem to respond correctly, but the change wouldn't stick. (Other edits, such as time or date, seemed to process properly)
Well, I think I may have found the answer. My calendar app is one I use all through the day, and so it's always on the new Lollipop app/website switcher carousel. Any app on that carousel is fixed in its last state. This must have consequences where are links with other apps - in this case Maps. The existing link stays intact until the app is truly closed.
Editing an event's location is therefore not possible unless Business Calendar is first closed, accomplished by simply removing it from the carousel. Then the event can be successfully updated. (Immediately afterwards, of course, the app is back on that carousel)
This may be a general problem/solution where the app/website switcher is concerned.
I have just updated my Z2 to 5.0.2 and the lock screen is not showing anything when I receive notifications (e-mail, text messages, etc.) nor do I see any icon in the status bar unless I unlock the phone.
I have a lock screen with pin code, enforced by company rules where I work when using company e-mail on the phone, but I would expect the notifications to still work.
I have checked the settings, and I have tried setting them to both Hide Sensitive Information and Show All under Notification settings when the unit is locked.
I just updated to 2.1 this week and I noticed that while I am in the 12 hour clock format and not rooted, the lockscreen has an extra '0'. While this isn't that big of a deal, it is starting to bother me. Does any have a work around besides downloading another lockscreen? I like this new lockscreen (except for this clock issue) so I would prefer not to have to download another one.
I recently update a xperia Neo to ICS and I like to change the camera launcher button of the lockscreen. I need the silent/bibrator button at the lockscreen because the camera launcher it's most useless. It's essential to have a quick silent button for me.I search at settings/security/lockscreen but I don't see any option like change launcher aplication.
Sometimes, my lockscreen doesn't work, when i press the powerbutton i'm Just directly in my homescreen.
When my lockscreen doesn't work my small apps don't work to.
And Sometimes my homescreen is Just Black and when i try things like Google now(swyping up from home button) while my home screen is Black it only shows the animation and then turns black again.
The camera logo at the bottom of the lockscreen has disappear after I update the phone, and I cannot directly launch camera app just long press the dedicated camera button. It's frustrating when u have to unlock the phone just to find the camera in app drawer, any ways to make the button back to the lockscreen???
My husband and I both have gmail accounts and our gmail calenders are connected to each other. He has an android phone and my calender is visible to him on his phone, but his calender is not visible on my phone. I have no problems viewing his calender on my computer.
What is the best and easiest way to sync with your Gmail calendar? I've tried using MfE but all I seem to be able to do is sync my emails. My method for doing this is Menu > Email > Email > New > MfE . I'm assuming this is how to do it but there is also a Sync program within Menu > Ctrl Panel > Phone > Sync where you can create a new sync profile but I don't think this is it.
I have two emails on my phone that I set up through the Blackberry website. My calendar has always defaulted to the first email. If I remove that email I fear my calendar will be empty except for the fact that it is saved on GMAIL. if I do remove the the first email and loose the calendar will the calendar be replaced on my next Sync with GMAIL?
I have been at this for 3 days now with my 1 week old 950xl. I will try to explain the best I can:
1. When I add a Gmail account to outlook its fine but it doesn't sync the google calendar nor does it show the google calendar.
2. If I add the google account(gmail) under the calendar settings, the calendar now shows up but it creates 2 Gmail accounts under email settings: Gmail1 and gmail2. Emails start to go missing and it's not how it should be. If I link gmail1 and gmail2, I see 2 copies of each email in the same place : Annoying.
3. After hours upon hours of reading forums I thought I had figured it out but apparently for 5 min!!
3a. I deleted all gmail accounts from the phone. 3b. I subscribed to gmail calender from the outlook calendar thru my desktop. Went to outlook.com and subscribed to Gmail calendar. 3c. After a rboot it was like magic: Gmail calendar showed up,no duplicate email boxes and all was great...
