Xperia Z3 :: Blue Tint Tone On Screen And Also Low In Brightness
Mar 19, 2015
I have purchased brandh new Xperia Z3 Dual from Dubai and after few seconds of use i realsied something is not right.
Â
I did compare it with my wife Xperia Z3 and also another Xperia Z3 Dual and find out that my phone is giving bit of blue tone ( tint ) in general and brightness it bit low as well.
Â
I did factory reset and also updated software using computer but nothing is changed.
When looking at something white on screen, do those white areas have a redish tint at lowest brightness setting? I notice this with my Lumia Icon, but not with other Lumia Windows phones. I just want to be sure that this is normal, as I'm still within the return window with VZW. If I set the brightness to medium or high, whites lose their redish tint and look normal.
I got a replacement galaxy s5 on Jan 28 and I've noticed the screen has a yellow and blue tint during white backgrounds. If i look straight at the screen, the white has some yellow tint over the mid to top portion of the screen. However, if I move the phone up, the yellow moves down the screen and a blue tint appears on the top to mid part of the screen. The tint isn't heavy as I can see still get good colors out of things.
Is this normal for the s5 screen? My old phone had a yellow tint to the white as well, but I don't know if the tint changed from yellow to blue when I moved the phone up and down.
I got the S6 Edge yesterday and it's my first Samsung phone. I've notice a faint blue tint on the bottom half on the screen. If you open a new tab in Chrome you can see it there against the white background. The top half of the screen is a nice white color.. there is definitely some kind of darker difference on the bottom half.
I have noticed in low-light photos, in both Superior Auto and Manual mode that there is a blue tint on the edges of low light photos, especially more on the left side. The only way I've noticed I can really mitigate it is if I lower the ISO on manual mode, but then the photos would end up being too dark. Â I have seen this issue discussed on other forums; some say it is a hardware issue, some software, and others say a camera module replacement may fix it. But I don't think Sony has officially ever acknowledged this issue, even though it is definitely present. Â Here are some example photos
Has anyone else noticed a blue tint to their screen after the gingerbread upgrade? I mostly notice it on things that have white backgrounds, when I scroll the screen turns the normal white that I am used to seeing, but when I stop the screen turns a blueish color.
im A Professional photographer and I realize that the phone may be limited, but it shouldn't be this bad. All of my shots are underexposed and have a definite blue tint (meaning auto white balance is bad) if they even manage to take without being blurry. My 3 megapixel Touch Diamond took well-exposed and well-colored pictures and instead of getting an upgrade, buying the Photon was a major step backwards.
I recently upgraded to the G3 (from an iPhone) and had a lot of trouble with call quality on the first phone so I switched to the S5. Long story short, I'm back to the G3 and am having some trouble with the new phone. The colors on the screen looked somewhat washed out and the camera isn't nearly as fast as the first phone - seems to take 3-5 seconds between shots to be able to take a photo (with just the 3 dots visible) or for the shutter button to reappear. It's the same whether HDR is on or off and if I swap down to 10mp I notice a lot of grain.
Colors looked washed out, faces had a blue tone and pictures were blurry. I did a soft reset and I also unmounted and remounted the SD card - no change. Finally, I noticed a Developer Options menu. After digging around on the internet, I thought this is a hidden menu that has to be unlocked? I decided to do a factory reset; the developer options menu disappeared, photos look much better although some pictures are still blurred and the screen looks much warmer. I have the Black G3 on Sprint and my Sprint Zone keeps saying there is an update but when I click on it, it pops up a message that says, "Update cancelled."
When I take a picture with a white background a circular blue tint appears in the middle of the page. How do I get rid of this? Am I using the right camera settings?

My new 808 is fantastic! However when the display is viewed at an angle of about 20 degrees or more the whites shown become blue. This is more evident when I look at Google homepage because of the white background.
Id like to get your opinions re my Xperia Neo's screen. As you can see below, a bluish tint appears on the upper portion of the screen and extends a little sideward to the right (depending on what is being flashed on the screen). The tint goes off whenever something white is flashed. What could have caused this defect/irregularity? My phone was bought from an online reseller and it has 2 more months of service warranty remaining.
I've been looking for this (because i want to buy this phone), and I found that if the phone goes over 40 Celsius degrees the screen will get a yellowish tint, for the Xperia S, I believe the answer by Sony was to replace the screen, but I have not find nothing related to Xperia pro. I live in a really hot place (basically 45 Celsius degrees all day) so this is a big problem for me. Is there a solution or was there a change on manufacturation process or something to fix this?
My Xperia Active is barely 3 weeks old, running Android version: 2.3.4 and latest build: 4.0.2.A.0.62. My screen brightness is kept at maximum, I have never dropped this phone or abused it and rest of it's functions are running fine. Barely a week in, it seemed to have a faintly flickering screen which I thought might have just been my eyes going. This week, the flickering has been replaced by what I would describe as "breathing" - screen brightness goes from max brightness (100%) to gradual dimness (about 78% brightness) to max brightness again - without me touching anything nor am I running out of power. This happens once in a while throught the day, not constantly. Rather alarming as I am getting very attached to this little phone.
I have been checking the SE forums since the 1st week of ownership, the flickering screen problem has been reported occuring to other SE phone models, including the Mini on which the Active has been based. I have wiped all data from my phone and gave it back to the seller for their tech to figure out. My last option if unrepairable, is to ask the seller to replace the unit. what causes the screen brightness to dim then brighten by itself (despite the latest build and software).
I purchased a Xperia Z3 D6603 model from US but the screen brightness is very very low. Even with full brightness and auto brightness unticked the phone's screen brightness is way way low than other Xperia devices.
I noticed that when opening camera app, the screen brightness slowly fades down. This makes it difficult to see what you are actually shooting. Can't remember it was like this before lollipop update.
I bought my Xperia active last Monday. But last Sunday, I noticed that the screen flickers. I usually use the phone with the brightness setting set to the lowest and that makes the screen flickering more visible. And also I am kinda new in using Android phones and Sony Ericsson phones, so I am no expert in manipulating this device.
The sony ericsson xperia mini st15i was really a pocket sized monster but pls sony put up an option to turn off the brightness auto adjusting.. everything was good and i can even say perfect just that that brightness sensor ****** me off because at places with low lighting, the screen flickers because of the brightness auto adjust...
I am using my xperia Z2 for more than 2 years and I have a small issue with my phone. When the screen is on with black background there are a circle blue spot down in the right of screen and I am sure that it's not a dead pixels only when black background and i didn't think so it's software issue as i update to lollipop
2 weeks before I purchased a SE Xperia X8 and I have a problem with the battery. Android 2.1, Network to GSM only, WiFi enabled only when I'm using the internet and the screen brightness to medium. I have "Advanced Task Killer" on Auto-Kill and "Juice Defender" enabled on Default. I have charged it i think 8-9 times since I got it. I have always plugged it when the phone said that it needs charging. Should I had left it discharge completely? Yesterday, I charged my phone in the afternoon and I didn't use it at all! Today, when I woke up, my battery was at 75% !!! Why is that happening???
I'm having an issue with my Z5 Compact when unlocking the screen. (Specially in dark rooms). The colors are totally "washed" for a few seconds, until adaptive brightness starts to work.Â
Sometimes in a dark room (like the bedroom) there is a 50% chance or more of this to happen.  To reproduce this: You need to use "adaptive brightness" under settings. And you need to unlock your phone a few times. I'd recommend you to do this using Tapatalk (Dark theme).  Anyway, I'm posting this because I've received an update yesterday from 32.0.A.4.11 to 32.0.A.5.32 and the issue is still here. Should I replace my device? Or just wait for another firmware?Â
I now have a blue line in the left hand side of my Sony Xperia z2 It is also doing a little screen line flashes but they go away. It's like the refresh rate is too slow but I can't see anyway to look for it.
I bought Sony Xperia z2 two weeks ago. Yesterday I noticed that there are two blue circles appear in the middle of the screen when the color is black. They don't show on any other color.
My sony Xperia z3 has the notification light flashing blue, but the screen wont turn on. Ive tried plugging the charger in, using the wireless charger, I even had ny husband call my phone and the screen never lit up and the phone never rang. Ive held down the power button, ive held the power and vol up button and still nothing.
Sony xperia s not turning on, only green notification light blinking? - The phone was on the charge throughout the night, in the morning phone`s ot switching ON, despite of pressing the power button for some time.
While playing a game on my phone yesterday the screen flashed/blinked for a moment, then turned and remained a blackish blue color. While in this state nothing on the phone was functional, I could hold the power button until I was blue in the face and it wouldn't power off the device. At this point I opened the cover for the micro SD card and SIM card and pressed the yellow power off button.
After holding down the yellow off button for several seconds and feeling the three vibrations I set the phone down and left it for 5 minutes. When I powered device backup it had the same black blue screen. I repeated these steps several times all with the same outcome. At this point I'm pretty frustrated and attempted to boot into recovery to no avail, finally deciding to simply do a factory reset which didn't work either.
I recently dropped my Sony Xperia Z3 and the screen cracked so I sent it off, and after having the screen changed its colour isn't the same. The screen has a dark bluish tone to it and is a lot darker even at full brightness and all the apps' icons are darker and so are all my pictures.
This may sound like a bit of a thick statement but I got my iPhone last week, it's a week 31 build, it has a bit of a yellowish tint on the screen compared to my dads who get his launch week.
When comparing both side by side, the display on his is a lot clearer than mine, I cannot see a single pixel. However on mine they are visible, not individual pixels but more like horizontal bands when changing the viewing angle. How is it possible to see them on one iPhone but not the other? Could it be a cheaper display, the yellow tint making them more visible or a fault?
What to do when you have a yellowish tint on your screen? My screen is yellower than my daughters (also iPhone 4s) and much more yellow than my sons iPod touch (4th generation). Is there any solution? It´snot the glue, I had the phone for three weeks now.
