Xperia Z2 :: How To Play Music On SD Card With Walkman
Jun 4, 2014
I'm having trouble working out how to play music from my SD card with Walkman. I can play one song at a time when i find it in File Commander but i was wonderinghow i can put my music on the Walkman app so i can search for different songs easier.
I have recently bought an album from Google play which has saved to the Google music player app but I want it on my Walkman library, is there a simple way to sync the Walkman library so when you purchase songs and albums from Google play they are automatically added to the Walkman? I'm new to android and I have to say it was so much easier on the iPhone, it seems so complicated to get the music I've purchased where I want it!!
Is the only way to play music from my memory card or do I have to upload it to OneDrive and play from there? Maybe I'm not quite understanding Groove music?
I'm getting my new device next week after making the plunge away from the iPhone 5. Ive got loads of music from iTunes and im thinking of getting a micro sd card to copy my music on there to play. is this possible to do and how would i get the music on there for me to play from?

I had a bb curve 8520 & just recently upgraded to a bb bold 9900 so I put in my sd card & none of my music on it plays? It is just comin up error & don't understand
I have an LG G4 with an installed SD card. I have copied music to the SD card from my computer, but I cannot find an app that will recognize/find the music files on the SD card. If I go to the files from File Manager, I can play them, but I want to use an app so that I can play the songs randomly. I've been able to do this on all of my phones in the past. Why can't I do it on the LG G4?
How can I save Google play music to my sd card? I tried it before and when I went to the android folder under SD card, it didn't have the song title. Just numbers. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 and a MacBook Pro.
I have a problem with the sd card on my Xoom wifi with Android 4.0.4. I have my music collection on an sd card which is loaded in my Xoom. Initially the music plays fine in the Google Play Music App, but after using the tablet for a day or two the music will no longer play. I get a message that the music cannot be played. This message then appears when attempting to play any music on the sd card.
I can temporarily fix the problem by erasing the Media Storage and Google Play Music data or resetting the tablet as suggested by gmanapps, but the problem repeats itself. I also tried syncing/not syncing with Google Music, disabling the Google Play Music app and using an alternate player, and formatting the sd card.
In general I have been happy with my Xoom, but this issue really concerns me. Does this point to a larger problem of stability in the Android file structure?
I have 1GB of music on the memory card and I can listen to the songs individually on my N8, but I don't know how to make the Music Player play all songs, the one after the other.
For some reason my text didn't save when I first posted this, so I'll try again:
My issue is that Google Play Music seems to save all cached music to the internal memory of the phone, and not the external SD card. Android can see this external SD card fine, and in fact saves any photos to it, so there is an issue with Google Play Music's visitbility of the SD card.
with my HTC Desire S, Google Play Music cached to the external SD card no problem.
I can see the mp3 and flac files when I connect my RAZR to my laptop, but the device itself can't see/play the music. Not sure what is going on here. why I can't access the music on my SD card that was fine on my Droid4? Seems odd that my music folder is empty (when I browse to it using files/astro.)
When you play music using bluetooth there is a lag or skipping in music. Like 1 sec. skipping in every 1-3 minutes or sometimes 30secs - up. I think the problem is the android lollipop. I used to connect my z5 in jbl xtreme. my huawei telpad running android kitkat has no problem in playing music using bluetooth. But my z5 and my wife's asus selfie running android lollilop there is a lag or skipping problem.
I have X8, 2.1.1.A.0.6/015 And i like the Walkman functions. What codename &maybe cust.code of w8 walkman? i want to try reflash my gadget, and I agree that these operations I perform at my own risk. for support - if this info for private use at this moment
Now I see that Sony has launched cheaper models with less specifications than MK16i like Xperia tipo, miro(Priced around INR 9000). I see that even these cheaper phones come along with WALKMAN app with CLEAR-BASS and MANUAL EQUALISER. If you can provide these features to the cheaper handsets, why cant you provide the same to the 2011 series of Xperias? It is our right. We have paid you and we need to be valued. I'm waiting to get the WALKMAN app in my phone. I already have ICS in my phone. I never thought that Sony would be so partial.
I have transfered a track from my laptop to my experia X8, but when I try to play it the phone says it cannot play it due to unsupported file format. it was automatically transferred as 'realplayer'.
i was on tmobile using a tmobile sim card on an old motorola with all my contacts (my vivaz pro is being fixed). i transferred to att service and tried to use my tmobile sim card to upload contacts, and it cannot read.
I bought a Sony Ericsson Xperia Play from the Sony Store in Erin Mills on September 18th, 2012. It was in good condition, but I recently got it unlocked. Upon receiving my unlocked Play, I noticed that the SD card isn't mounted. I tried numerous times resetting the phone and trying to see what was wrong but I can't seem to fix it. My SD card works when I insert it into my PC, and it still has all the files. I even tried other SD cards and it still couldn't mount.
Been having the phone for a few months but surprisingly just noticed it, does the phone home button have a back-light? Want to know if there is a hardware issue.
I recently changed the micro sd card out to a 32gb to enable a more serious approach to gaming etc. However, since doing that I have not been able to get any of the gameloft games to download and install correctly. The existing game that I had previously will operate when I put in the older (Smaller) SD card. Photos and music transferred over, but not with the correct file path. Therefore they con not be viewed. I have spent quite a bit of time trying to work it out, previous discussion threads have not correctly outlined the procedure. Having the expandable memory is designed to make this phone more marketable. Not telling people how to do it makes the phone significantly less marketable.

My phone ran out of battery and now the apps stored on my SD card won't always show up. The card is fine as I can use my music. If I copy an app from SD to phone an then back it will show but when i restart the phone it will dissapear again. i have tried un mounting and re-mounting the card but no joy.
I have the phone rooted and unlocked, and it seems to not work with t-moblie. "no service selected network (t-mobile) unavailable". I have tried doing all the resets, but to no avail.
