For some reason my wifi connection is either very slow, or there isn't any connection. And when it does connect, it is REALLY slow, and then it drops.
I get really frustrated because on my other devices such as an asus notebook and a Samsung tablet it works like a charm.
When I connect my Z2 to my WIndows 8 laptop through the USB cable the connection is unstable. The laptop recognises the phone and shows it as external harddrive in Windows explorer, but when I open the drive it does not respond. Then after a while it opens a new Windows explorer window with the phone's drive, but again I can not use it.
I've checked that I have the latest driver. And on my desktop PC with Windows 7 I have no problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use my C3-01 as a modem on my laptop. Since i updated the firmware to 7.15 the connection doesn't stay for more than 2-3 hrs. It disconnects automatically. Sometimes even after a min. Earlier i was able to connect for even 16 hrs at a stretch.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI literally drop EVERY WiFi call after about 5-7 minutes. I get an error message "WiFi Signal Lost". I would normally just blame the WiFi network I'm on, but it does it on multiple totally different networks (home, work, Burger King, etc...). And I know for sure both home and work networks are very stable and fast. Not sure what the issue is. If I go and view the network details of the network I'm on, the signal strength is typically between -40 and -75 dBm. While in UMA mode, the phone will actually go out of UMA mode sometimes for no apparent reason, and won't go back into UMA mode until after a few minutes. The worst part is that the Home screen says I'm still connected to the WiFi network, but the top right corner doesn't say UMA! It says 3G! And YES, my Mobile Network Mode is set to "WiFi Preferred". Even if I set it to WiFi Only, the top of the Home screen says I'm connected to the WiFi network, but the top right corner says OFF and the phone just goes dead!!
I use this phone for work and it needs to be reliable. Is my above WiFi Calling experience normal?? If not, does anybody know anything I can try? Are there some apps that conflict the with operation of the phone portion at all? I'm back to using the default theme now and it's still doing it... Should I try doing a factory reset? Here are the apps I can think of that I have installed:

If I'm scrolling through a page, the pointer will all of a sudden stop and become completely unresponsive for a few seconds. Then resumes like nothing happened. And, if I'm typing a long text or email and it does this total-lock up, I'll look up from the keyboard and see that none of my keystrokes were being echo'd onto the screen while it was locked up. But then it starts working again like nothing happened. BUT The strange thing is that if I'm typing while it's locked up, it doesn't appear to a buffer any of my keystrokes! (as opposed to on my old BB 8330: sometimes when it got bogged down because I had too much stuff running in the background, the keystrokes being echo'ed to the screen would sometimes slow down and lag behind my typing.... but it always kept track of what I typed and would eventually catch up.) HOWEVER, when my 9780 completely locks up like I mentioned above, it doesn't seem to recognize that I typed anything while it was locked up. when it "snaps out of it" and comes back to life, none of the keystrokes I typed while it was locked up are echo'ed onto the screen. I'm wondering if it's during these complete lockups that I'm dropping calls?

I have a N900 and have experienced unstable 3G data connection. Web pages at times won't open, take a long time to open, or simply timeout. Internet Radio re-buffering all the time.I take out the SIM card and put it into my N97. Internet connection seems fine in my N97 at the same location. I turn on the Joikuspot on my N97 (convert 3G signal into Wi-fi hotspot) and connect my N900 to Internet via wi-fi and the Internet connection on my N900 runs absolutely smooth. I can open different websites with Internet radio running in the background.
May I know if anyone can help me with this? I am running out of ideas. And I cannot carry both N900 and N97 at the same time like this to make Internet connection works for N900.
i have the ICS 4.0.3. i was listening to music when the phones battery completely discharged, put it on charging, and stopped the music, and the touch of the phone went bezerk. older discussion claimed it was a problem with the charger or the current input. but i just started playing music again when it was on charge, and touch is working fine.

In video mode the camera is almost un-usable because the AF and the AE hunts around like crazy even in decent light. see [URL] .... Local Sony tech said that this maybe a faulty software design. The only way to get it to reconnect is to restart the phone. After restart the 3G is working perfect for as long as i have been able to test it, but as soon as i connect to WiFi it stops again.

I kept loosing my home Wifi connection, to some annoyance, having to restart the Wifi everytime to solve the issue. Until I figured out turning off the Bluetooth solves the issue. This is a really bad problem, and is probably going to result in me not using my PLAY at all.
When I'm at home, I keep my 3G data services turned off. I have a wifi connection and the 3G connection isn't very good inside my house anyway. For some reason, every time I open Android Market, it tells me I have to turn on data services, even if I'm connected already to wifi, and then it keeps interrupting because of the poor 3G connection. Is there any way to force this application to use wifi? I have no problem with other applications.

Next, connecting Z3 with Wi-Fi sometimes took past a minute over till I opened Wi-Fi setting (where from there I can view Wi-Fi networks).
I'm just wondering if I'm the only one who have Xperia Z3 have the glitches mentioned above. Will Sony Mobile provides a more better system update than the current version 4.4.4 in near future?
