I am using a Sony Xperia Z2. I often take videos and photos on my phone and view them through the Google photo app. For the last couple of days, it keeps crashing. It says - 'Unfortunately, Photos has stopped'. I have uninstalled and re-installed the photo app, cleared the data and cache data off. No success.

View 10 Replies View RelatedMy Google Plus (Version 4.7.1) app on my iPhone 5s (64 GB) crashes immediately after launching. I'm running iOS 7.1.2. I deleted all Google apps and reinstalled Google Plus. It worked briefly. I reinstalled Google Maps and Hangouts.
Now G+ freezes again.

So I've had no issues with Google Now/Google search until today. About 5 hrs ago I noticed the issue. I'm commingly swipe up to launch Google search or Google Now. Well about 2pm it wouldn't open, tried this about 5 times. Then it finally opened. Then froze the whole phone.
View 23 Replies View RelatedAround a year ago, my Nexus 5 kept 'crashing' on a very regular basis. However, I'm saying 'crashing' between '' because the phone was still on. I felt it vibrating when I'm called, the music kept playing and the notification light flashes. So the device was on, the backlight was working, but my screen remained black. The only solution was to 'hard reset' the device (holding the power button +- 10 seconds). The problem however kept reappearing.
I send it back twice, did multiple factory resets (with and without backup) and it seemed fixed. Until now, the problem is back since last week.
Sometimes it 'crashes' twice in a row, sometimes the device works fine for another 24 hours straight. I'm currently doing another factory reset, but my experience tells me this won't really solve anything. This is also the reason why it's hard to explain this problem to the manufacturer: when I send it to them, I lose my phone for more than 3 weeks minimum and it could be that their tests show no problems at all.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a strange problem here which cropped up shortly after taking the most recent update from Verizon. In short, my Google Calendar is now crashing every time I refresh it in the calendar (i.e., pull down on a calendar day). Even with my all accounts set to NOT sync with Calendar and my calendar data cleared, it STILL crashes constantly. A screenshot of the crash is below. I have not installed any new apps or done anything "interesting" other than receive the VZW update.
Here's specifically what I've tried to do to fix this and what happens:
1) Disabled syncing of my 2 gmail accounts to this calendar.
2) Force-stopped the calendar app
3) Cleared the calendar data
4) Verified there are no events shown on the calendar UI
5) Opened calendar and either wait a bit, or pull down to refresh.
6) Receive "Unfortunately, Calendar has stopped"
The crash is always the same: "TimeFormatException,Unexpected character 0x5a at pos=8. Expected T.,Time.java,-2"
I cannot seem to convince my camera app to operate. As soon as I touch the icon, it produces a window stating that unfortunately the Camera has stopped. Tried to switch off and on the phone several times, but to no avail. My Nexus 5 runs on 5.1.1.

View 5 Replies View RelatedEver since Tuesday morning on 10/28 Google Search app has been crashing repeatedly over and over again in the background. I did not think much of it first few times, but then yesterday and today it started becoming more frequent. It seems to be happening almost every hour.
So I started doing some trouble shooting and caught the app running at over 500 MB of RAM!! Then of course it shortly after crashed. I have attached a screen shot of that, in addition to battery stats from overnight when I was sleeping, so everyone can see how often it is occurring as well. I have reported at least 8 of the crashes to the Google report option that comes up.
So far I have tried restarting my phone multiple times, and have tried clearing the cache on the Google Search app. Still has made absolutely no difference. Would like to try to avoid resetting the phone if possible.

My Nexus sometimes randomly crashes and then has problems rebooting. I have factory reset the phone and even reverted fully to stock android. However, the problem persists. I have attached the logcat file pulled up to the crash.
View 1 Replies View RelatedGot the N5 in 2012 with 4.4.4 on loved it, no problems then. Then lollipop came along causing battery drain and random crashes. Waited for 5.1 hoping for fixes, installed it battery life improved but still crashed randomly. I put it down to the memory leak problem. I decided to downgrade. I downgraded back to kitkat 4.4.4 after unlocking the boot loader. Now I have random crashes running Kit Kat.
PS If I carry my USB battery pack around and keep phone plugged into it the phone never crashes. Its just not a very mobile phone then!!
Experienced this with the new Play Store. There books category is causing the app to crash every time I try to access it. If I delete the update it works with the old store.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI updated the Google Photo app last night as it has been pushing me to update and wouldn't work until I did. After the update, all of the previous photo edition options are gone (i.e. HDR, Dramatic, B&W, all of the vintage and frames, etc.) The only options available now are Auto, Light, Color, Pop and Vignette under settings and then when you pick the landscape picture icon, you have things like Mars, Phobos, Saturn, Ariel, Venus and Pluto. They just change the color of the pictures, don't add any effects.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn December, I accidentally slammed a car door on my beloved Nexus 4 and was lucky enough to replace it with a shiny new Nexus 5. The transition to the new phone was smooth, as anticipated, and I've been enjoying my N5.
Now my boss has me selling old computer crap that no one wants on eBay and I've run into a problem. I took pictures of the items with my N5 and went to download them from the Auto Backup so I could create the listings on a desktop.
But my Google+ Auto Backup pictures stop in December, showing only pictures from my N4.
I'm running stock Android 4.4.2 and using Camera Zoom as my photo app (photos show up in the Photo app just fine). I have Auto Backup turned on and it tells me the backup is up to date. If I sign out of the Photos app, sign back in, turn Auto Backup back on and tell it to "update all", it says "uploading 96 of 97 photos". Then nothing is uploaded.
I have it set to upload on cellular data and as far as I can tell, nothing is preventing the upload, except that Auto Backup thinks nothing needs to be uploaded. It's almost like the photos are being backed up somewhere that I just can't find. I'm only using one Google account on this phone, so where they'd be besides my Google+ account.
I have several hundred photos on my new S6 that came originally from my iPhone that show up fine in my gallery. When I open Google Photo, I only see very few pics, mostly what was taken with the S6 and what is on my Google Drive.
View 12 Replies View RelatedFollowing the L update I found I couldn't edit photos normally in Photos....just got 'Downloading resources etc' message. Eventually found a fix....turned off mobile data, turned on wifi, tried to edit a photo, got the message, clicked OK, and the editing tools downloaded. Photo editing now back to what it was before the update.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI'm not able to free up photo/video storage on my device - Nexus 5 running 5.1. I've deleted all photos and videos off the device itself. When I check "storage", I still see 1.7GB of storage being used under "Pictures, videos". When I click on "Pictures, Videos" in storage, there are no files. When I look in the "photos" app, again there are no files under "on device". The trash has been emptied. I rebooted the phone. No luck. Auto back-up is on, but as I stated, none of the photos are stored locally at this point. How do I free up this mysterious use of space?

I am not able to send any photos as attachment in whatsapp when using Gallery app. However, if I long hold the gallery icon, it enable me to choose Photos app and send the file from that app. Feels so annoying have to long hold the icon everytime I want to send photos.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Google Nexus 5 running Android 5.0.1 and have recently noticed that the time assigned to pictures taken with my phone are all time-stamped five hours later than when the pictures were actually taken. By time stamped I mean the time shown when I pull up the picture's details.
Given that it's exactly five hours off it seems to me that it's probably a time-zone issue. However, I've checked the settings on my phone under Settings/Date & Time and although both the date and time are set to Automatic Date & Time and Automatic Time Zone, the grayed out text below are showing the correct date, time and time zone. This makes sense since my phone displays the correct date and time across the board except for the photo details.Is this something that can be fixed by adjusting some settings I'm not aware of?
while im trying to close/ uninstall an app then a warning shows "unfortunately settings has stopped".. and it reset.. and if i try again it shows the same thing all over again. i already tried to reset it but didnt do much.

It happens while playing games, making a movie and today it happend while I was talking to my boss on the phone. Also, when it crashes, sometimes it keeps crashing just after booting. I already tried to remove the sd-card and see if that makes any difference, but it doesn't. Then I ran the update to android 2.1 through SEUS again to see if that makes any difference, but again, it doesn't. It still crashed while I was shooting a video. I don't really know what to do anymore. I was thinking about going to the t-mobile-shop (my provider) tomorrow to see what they have to say
