Xperia X8 :: Preparing Memory Card / Checking For Errors
Jun 26, 2012
My SD card is not corrupted, i checked it in other mobile, it was able to read all the contents of the card. And when i tried to read other memory card, its not reading. So i concluded that the problem is with my phone's memory card reader.
I've had my xperia x8 since june no problems at all until sunday....I let the phone run out of battery...(the battery life is pretty awful even after all the tips) and when I charged it and turned it on it said it was preparing sd card checking for errors on the notification bit. Its not said that since i had it intitially. This notification did not go away and actually made my phone slow down then go blank then behave completely irratically (almost like a computer does when its being affected by a virus)
I tried turning off ...taking out battery...taking out sd card..taking out sim card...turning on...and a combination of all these to see if it changed but it just keeps preparing sd card /checking sd card for errors....it was fine the other day what has changed?
I had enabled SD card encryption on my Galaxy S5 a few days back which went perfectly fine but as soon as I restarted my phone yesterday, the SD card went inaccessible. For the last 24 hours it is showing "encrypting SD card" and "checking for errors" messages in the notification. It's a Kingston 32 GB class 4 card and has important data that I'd like to get access back to. I can't even use it in another device now to copy data because I have encrypted it. Formatting it would mean I loose all my data.
I turned on my phone (Xperia X10/mini pro running Android 2.1-update 1) yesterday and found a message saying, "SD card being checked for errors". Turned off the phone and removed the card, checked the contacts, put the card back in. Turned the phone back on. Then got a range of errors. "SD card removed" "Insert SD card" "SD card being checked for errors". At the same time, the phone started turning itself off, a blank screen would appear and disappear, etc.
During the day, it would display an error saying that the SIM card couldn't be found. After removing the card, the battery and the SIM card several times, the phone started behaving normally but it now it can't see the SD card. I replaced the old SD card - which has been working fine for months - with a new one. Both are 2GB Sandisk cards. The phone displayed two messages: "Blank SD Card Found" and then "SD Card Removed" and now displays "SD Card Removed. Insert a new one."
After installing many apps my phone now says that its low on memory. but i do have 1.75 GB available space on my memory card. How can I install the Apps on memory card instead of phone memory?
I know about going into options and checking it.But a few weeks ago I was playing around and found another place to check it. All I can remember it it was in the stock system not an app and that when you clicked on it. A progress bar popped up saying checking memory or something like that. The results broke down where the memory was being used. I have clicked and clicked till I have a blister on my finger. Will someone please slap me and wake me up showing where to look again.
i have a xperia x8. i have 2 gb memory card,ok.hen i download apps, they're going to the phone card and it size very small. i want to move these apps from phone card to memory card.

Anybody know the cause and how to get rid of it? Specifically, I am having it issues with it sending text messages on an e71.I can receive text messages fine. I’ve fiddled with all settings and used handy taskman to kill whatever. I have over 60 Megs of ram and 58 Megs or flash available.
I have tried several times to update my z3 to 23.4.a.1.200. When I connect via USB it tells me update is available but keeps sticking at preparing computer for update.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled pc companion 4 times. It sat on preparing for over 4 hours last try with no movement at all...
I am doing the updates on my x10 for the first time, I have followed the instructions on how to back up the data, (which I have done) and when I press on do updates it goes through 3/4 of the preparing and then says the update of software failed and just tells me to consult sony ericsson support. I am connected through usb cable.
i own a 5800 and when i tried to access to the memory card through the file manager it says the card was corrupted. but when i inserted the card in a memory card reader, it works accept that i cant eject it and a pop-up window came out saying an error occured while ejecting the card. it is a 8Gb memory card. i found a solution similar to my situation but is there any other alternative ways that doesn't require me to download huge files?
for something reason, my phone started to be DAMN slow and laggy, when i try to go menu, it takes about 10 seconds to get to menu, and all is laggy in this phone. When going to file manager, seems it doesnt find memory card, even it is inserted. Then when removing memory card, phone works normally and not slow, fast. What is wrong with my 5230, why it doesnt find my memory card and why inserting it makes so slow? I would like to get it work because it has all my music and pictures etc...
After upgrading by E7-00 with symbian Anna, my phone frequently runs out of memory. I used RAMinfo free, it shows 125MB free RAM. THis goes down to about 95MB with frequent usage (but all apps closed). However, with the free RAM still at around 95MB, I start getting "Insufficient Memory.close other applications" error.
The only apps running in the background are whatsapp (2.6.29) and socially. I have tried disabling socially for a day and the problem continues. DUring this time, if I scroll through homescreens, my widgets disappear randomly and new applications fail to launch.
I've got a Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro that's working fine. Then i saw that there was a update! So i plug in my phone and press update on PC Companion. However, the 'Preparing the computer for the software update' takes pretty long.. It stalls at about 30 / 35 %. I already re-installed PC Companion. My internet connection is perfectly fine. Running Windows 7 and I never had this problem before..
I Started ICS update for Neo V, but from one and half hour it got stuck at Preparing computer for software update.and by using update service i get S1Boot download driver problem. Driver installation failed. What is S1Boot download???
I have lost my pictures and I am receiving an error message that the media card has errors. It is saving pictires to the, phone and not the media card. I've taken it out, put it back in and took battery out to start the phone again. Still getting the same error message.
HOW CAN ICHECK THE MEMORY STATUS FOR BOTH THE PHONE MEMORY AND THE MEMORY CARD AND CAN I CHOOSE THE MEMORY CARD AS MY PRIMARY MEANS OF STORAGE ESPECIALLY FOR MUSIC AND PHOTOS.
I purchased a 8gb memory card for my torch and it worked for a few days then brought up a message saying the card has errors and needs to be repaired i would repair these errors and i formatted the card and it still carried on bringing up the same message I then purchased a 16gb memory card and the same message came up. I formatted the card , repaired all errors on my computer and off my phone. when i transfer all my media to the card and put it in the phone it says format card everytime i put it in i then format the card and re put everything on the memory card , "safely remove" it and put it back in my phone and it says format again?
Ok, here's the deal. Ever since yesterday afternoon I've started to get random SIM card errors. I'll unlock the phone and the error will be on the screen. It takes me doing a soft reset to get the phone to work again.
i am thinking of upgrading my memory card to something like 16GB.will i be able to just copy all data (including photos, music and apps that i have stored on the memory card) via flie explorer in windows? will this maintain the integirty of the file structure so that when i insert the new memory card, the phone will be oblivious to the fact that there is a new memory card inserted?
I have an X10 and 16 GB SanDisk SDHC card but have no idea how to transfer all files from old 2 GB SD card. Phone doesn't boot up with new 16 GB card. Even if I connected to PC via USB cable, it won't boot up. How can I upgrade this card?
Am using a Samsung class 10 64GB SDXC for my Xperia z3 D6653.
Formatted to exFAT.  I can transfer media and all that , but the limit is 4GB . After I have used up 4GB of memory in the SD card , every file above this limit will be deleted .
But , the 4gb limit only happens to FAT32 isn't it ?
