Xperia X8 :: Email App - Deletes Mails On Company Email Server
Jul 17, 2011I am a new owner to a x8 (android 2.1), after 10 happy years with Nokia. Unfortuantely I have run into some issues and her is one:
The embedded email app are deleting mails on my mail server, when I delete them in my phone. I am used to have a copy left on the mail server to be fetched when coming back to the office. I do not find any options in my x8 so I have a copy left on my server.

Apr 19, 2012I have 3 email accounts that I synchronise with the email app. I use this app to have all my accounts in the same place, including my gmail account. The issue is that when I send an email, a copy of it is stored in the imap sent email folder of the account. Gmail do not recommend this practice because it saves all sent email by itself, and there for, if the client also saves a copy of the email, there is two copies stored. That's my problem. When using email app, I find in my email account twice the mail sent in the conversation. (How) can I configure the email app not to store the sent messages in the imap server ? I am running ICS official realease from sony (PC Companion) since yesterday.

When typing in the email address, the password, smtp and mail configurations as stated it still won't accept my mail settings. It says I have to check the time and date of the license/certificate?Do I need to download a new email programme to handle my email or can this be fixed? And can you only set up one email account to the phone? I would like to sync both my work email and private email to the phone.

Aug 11, 2010I have an imap email. This happily syncs with ipod, Nokia, Outlook, Palm, etc.When I go into the email app it asks for my email address and password which I fill in. On the next screen it asks for connection settings which I fill in. Pressing continue then brings up the message "Server not found. Check server addresses or edit email settings for manual setup."
I know the server can be found as everything else is happily syncing my email apart from the X10 mini pro. The issue may be that I haven't been able to set up the security settings (I need to log in to my outgoing mail server) but I can't find any other email settings other than just the options of typing in email, passowrd, selecting imap/pop and putting in server names.Laughably it seems the SE page on email doesn't even bother covering the setup.

Feb 21, 2011I am using Android 2.1 and Roadsync on X8.I have set all parameters and i recieve all the mails, contacts and tasks fine.When i create a message or answer to an recieved email, i can't see any "send" button.I hit then the back button of the phone and the mails i have just written are stored into the local draft box. They can't even be transfered to the inbox (and then sent by outlook when synchronised)

Jul 6, 2010I own a X10 mini pro which, so far, is really impressive to me. I really like it. I wanted something small but still close to a smart phone and that's exactly what it is.
Anyway, I cannot add my email server setup. I use IMAP under SSL but with a self signed certificate. All my other phones or computer take it but warn me about the self signed certificates. The X10 mini pro just says that it cannot validate my server settings!

Sep 17, 2010I just got my Xperia x10 mini pro today and so far I have noticed that my email doesn't update itself, I have to do it manually but it seems like the phone should be able to do that. I use a hotmail account on my phone and I would like to know if the email can update itself, if I have to wait for 2.1 to have this problem resolved or if it's just something that I'm missing. And sometimes the phone will say "Does not connect" when I do try to update it but it hasn't done it in the last few hours. In addition, there isn't any change in my real email account. I could read an email on my phone and still half an hour later that very same email will be considered new and unread.
