Jun 3, 2012I recently finally rooted my xperia play and read that chainfire 3d is a must have app for rooted phones. I read the discription, went to tegrazone games on my computer and was blown away with the graphicsof such games as dark meadows. So I bought the paid version of Chainfire 3D, installed the drivers and plugins, I've followed all instructions and I still cannot get games like dark meadows to first download to my xperia play. I've use the plugins and opened terazone games then tried to get, say, dark meadow or Zen pinball and all it says my phone is not compatible. Now I thought that is where chainfire was suppose to come in. to make it compatible.

Aug 30, 2012I have an Xperia PLAY and recently the screen went fuzzy and I couldn't see anything so I had it repaired. However when I got it back it will not connect to my network which is Vodafone Ireland. When I try to connect it says "Your SIM Card does not allow a connection to this network". I have changed the mode from WCDMA and GSM and vice versa but still it won't connect. I even got a new sim card to try that. It will work with any of my older phones but not this one. The phone works perfectly at everthing else including internet by Wi-Fi but not as a phone.

Apr 13, 2011I want to update my Xperia Play to version 3.0.1.A.0.146, but PC Companion 2.0 wont let me. I change my phone to 'mediaoverdracht modus' ( it's in dutch, i don't know the english word ). It's the modus that is required for updating your phone, and it's step 3. But it fails every single time. PC Companion keeps saying it is unable to connect to my PLAY. No errorcode or nothing, it just gives the advice to reconnect my phone to the PC.

Jul 3, 2010Recently bought a Xperia Z3+. How come when I record a 4K video and then try to play it back does it come up with the error message 'unable to find URL'
Do you need to use the Internet to view a video you have recorded yourself if it is in 4K if so how come?
And why is it not using my Internet because I have unlimited data but I am downloading something at the moment does this prevent the video getting the URL if it needs it.

Aug 26, 2011I just got the Xperia Play and I'm try to play the preploaded games like Ashpalt 6 or Crash Bandicoot. I have to download content to play them but every time I get a error message after it tries to dowload for a few minutes and the yellow status bar goes up a little bit. I've down a settings and factory restore and get the error message every time. While its download my phone will go to sleep and wont respond when hitting the home button. Do I need a new phone?

Aug 8, 2012Here are options that I have tried:- Ensuring Back cover is on completely- Purchased new Micro SDHC card- Updated Xperia Play to latest software using PC Companion- Removing and re-inserting card whilst on, and whilst off.- Searching for related issues (None found, except back cover issues).
When the phone discovers the card, after attempting a mount it tells me "Blank or unnsupported card".Being un-able to connect my SDHC card prevents me from playing any games installed on the device, using the camera/video, and installing new programs or games.

Dec 20, 2010I successfully upgraded to Android 2.1 on my Xperia x10 Mini Pro. After the upgrade everything works beautifully except 2 things.
1> I am unable to play any online videos. When I try loading the video it does not load the control for it and shows a small square block like a Lego brick. Looks like the browser is missing some add-on like Flash or something. Have tried installing Flash for the browser but it said Flash is already installed.. Have tried downloading a different browser, like Opera but that does not help either.
2> This is not very important, but for some reason the alarm does not work any more. I can set the alarm on the phone. It shows that the alarm is set for a particular time but when the time comes it does not ring. Have tried using different applications for this but those don't work either.

Oct 27, 2010My Track ID software has never worked, which is a real bummer cos I love that app.
When I record my 10 second snippet, it returns an error message that says:
"An error occured. Please update to a new version of the software. For instructions, please contact Sony Ericsson."
I am assuming that this problem will not be solves in the 2.1 update, they don't update apps too, do they? So I need to find out where I can download a new version of Track ID. No luck on Android Market.

However, when i play Battlefield two and attempt to use both touch pads to move about, the game freezes and locks up until i cease touching the two game pads. Jan 25, 2012I phone recently developed a problem with touch screen becomming completely unresponsive. I googled and found its a common fault with Sony Handsets. Now let me explain the list of tasks i did in order to get it back to work but invane 1- Tested a new touchpad 2- Software update 3- Software downgrade 4- Deassembling and reassembling
i think i didn't miss anything but still its not responsive. It does sometimes response but if i do restart battery pull, open back case its unresponsive again. According to my knowledge its not a hardware issue as if its hardware and need new one i already tried that its software issue and it seems that entire screen is selected when i try to neviggate through the gaming keys. I am still unable to belive that sony ericsson has still not provided any fix for the issue. If anyone has any idea or any third party software for screen please advise.

Xperia PLAY :: Supported External Speaker For Play?
May 27, 2011I am looking to buy an external speaker to connect to my xperia play, preferably a sony branded one, but definately one that is portable enough to fit in my pocket.I thought I had found the one that fit the bill perfectly when I checked the sony site and found the MS 430 which is supposed to be fully compatible with the Xperia Play (it even doubles up as a phone stand, which is pretty neat).Now the problem is my jack is on the horizontal side of my phone (opposite side to the left flipper) and not on the top end as shown in the picture to connect a phone to this speaker.So therefore the speaker is not compatible with this phone, unless of course I have a unique phone with the jack in the wrong place or the phone is connected in the upright position, which wouldnt be very good when watching video playback.
