Jun 26, 2010I got the latest software (v50) for my phone and have had a few annoyances. Firstly my text when writing a text sometimes randomly starts deleting itself as though the delete has got a mind of its own and has locked or something, meaning I helplessly watch my text get deleted. Secondly, when browsing, occasionally if I bring up the back and option buttons (coming out of full screen mode) they just wont appear and I cannot do anything unless I close and reload the page. Thirdly when touching an icon, it may not realise for a while and I have to keep pressing it other times I accidently press something once and it opens it. The new features are great, but the problems are annoying and is it possible the sensitivity can still be increased as its almost perfect in terms of touch sensivity from a finger. I end up using my nail to help it along sometimes.

Jan 7, 2012The ICS is taking bad photos because it uses high ISO all the time. In the photo below, the camera decided to take the shot using the following parameters:
F-Stop: f/2.6
Shutter Speed: 1/40
ISO Speed: 1250
This second photo is taken using Android GB. The camera used the following parameters:
F-Stop: f/2.6
Shutter Speed: 1/16
ISO Speed: 800
This one is extremely darker that the first photo but this one is much cleaner.Clearly, we have a bug in the ICS Camera.

Jul 3, 2010I will often record a GPS track if I am flying in a plane and in a window seat. My old phone (HTC Incredible 4G LTE and even older HTC Incredible) would be able to get a GPS lock and record for the entire ride. Every now and then I may lose the signal. On my most recently flight, I tried this phone at the same time and noticed that it loses lock much more often. So overall, the sensitivity seems to be worse. When looking at detailed info, it seems like the number of satellites and signal strength from each satellite is about the same when viewing side by side. The Sony just requires a higher strengh to "lock". I'd rather have a GPS lock with lower accuracy...

Oct 23, 2012I've a one yr old xperia play. It worked fine until I installed Temple run few days back. My phone would not respond to the touchscreen when I try unlocking it, but it would respond once I slide the joypad, press power button once or twice etc. But after few days, this became worse and now even the Home button became unresponsive.The current situation is that I cannot unlock my phone as the touchscreen is not responding at all.
When this problem started, I had checked the running services to ensure whether there were any malicious programs taking up CPU usage. I could not find any.

Dec 17, 2012Bought a SK17i about 1 year ago, I was perfectly happy.. Then after some time the touchscreen responded slower as normal. Helpdesk advised to do system update. Problem seemed solved, but returned after some time again. I removed pictures and movies and emptied out the inbox, phone worked normal. Last month it just failed on me, it just stopped working.. I get no respons from the touchscreen, tried recalibrating & system update & even hard reset ( advised by sony helpdesk) without result! When I slide it open to use the keyboard, the display flips and I can navigate with the arrows ect so the phone seems still fully functional except for the touch screen

I've tried different types of rom, i've removed the sim and sd card but nothing seems to solve the problem.After pressing the power button and the cpu gets out of deep sleep, touchscreen is not responding just volume buttons and power button. I have to keep press the power button until at some point the touchscreen responds.

Jul 4, 2015Yesterday my Xperia started having what's described as the "ghost touch" issue.After shutting the phone down, nothing was looking better. At this point, when I boot up the phone, I can enter my sim-pin, start the camera by the dedicated button and touch objects to focus. I can also select things in the restart/shut down menu. However, the lock sceen is all but responsive. The fact that I have partial touchscreen functionality gives me the hope that the problem is software related rather than a hardware issue. However, since I can't get past the lock screen, it's also impossible for me to reboot the phone to factory settings.

Oct 31, 2010I was using my phone normaly and then later on I went to send a text message and I was unable to use the qwerty row of the touchscreen. at first I thught it was a glitch on the text message section of the phone. But afterwards I discovered that even on the home screen that that area was totally unresponsive.The area is a horizontal area that goes all the way accros the touchscreen area it is about 1cm in height in portrait mode. The same area is unresponsive ene in landscpae mode.I dont know what to do, I've only had it for about two months so it is very new, im really upset about this issue. I live in the Uk and I dont really want to send it in for repairs becasue of the horror stories that I've heard about the waiting times!

Jun 15, 2015I rinsed my phone under the tap today because someone got chocolate icing on the screen. I didn't submerse it in water and i haven't dropped it. I simply ran it under the tap for no more than 5 seconds then dried it on my shirt and now the touchscreen doesnt work.
I made sure the flaps were closed and i've checked the indicators, on both sides they are yellow/white and not pink.
I'm trying a repair through the computer as restarting the phone has done nothing.

Oct 12, 2015I updated my Z3 Dual to 5.1.1 Build 23.4.A.1.200 (Hong Kong) a few days ago. I found that my touchscreen has some "dead zones" when playing games or typing on the keyboard, mainly a vertical line about 2cm from the left of the screen and also a bit on the lower right.
I wonder if this is software related? I have already tested the touchscreen using YAMTT.
